I have multiple Google icons in the connections field of many of my contacts.
how to remove all these duplicate icons and I don't want to delete the contact itself.

Anyone getting duplicate icons after installing a new app? I've had this happen twice now. I download so many apps so not sure which one might have caused it. I'm not able to trash the icon either and end up uninstalling and reinstall the app.
View 6 Replies View Relatedat the bottom you see a "Add relationship" field. If you click Add relationship, you are presented with a list of relationships. In here I selected Father. There is then an input box next to it.
What are you supposed to put in there? I've already told Google this contact is my Father, even if I put his real name in as the contact details, it still gives me that option.
At first I thought perhaps it was for Google Now. For instance, my girlfriend is down as her full name, so when I say "Call my Girlfriend" it would call her. However it seems like that isn't the case.

I just got my Hero. I used HTC sync to sync my calendar/contacts with outlook. Outlook has previously been synced with Gmail. Now I have a ton of duplicate contacts. Obviously I shouldn't have synced contacts from Outlook and just let them sync from Google. Is there any easy way to fix this and get rid of all the Outlook contacts?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have purchased several apps through the Google market. Updating to Froyo required a system reset for me so the apps had to be reinstalled from the market. My google checkout and login ID are the same but Google charged me again for the apps and they showed up on my CC. Tried to resolve through google but gave up in frustration trying to find some way to dispute or rectify the situation. I disputed the charge through my CC but I have a feeling that is going to cause more trouble. Surely there is some way this is SUPPOSED to work and a planned way to rectify easily when it does not.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be on GV 100% (voice, txt, whatever else GV provides) the problem wiht this so far is that i get duplicate text messages - which is annoying the reason for my frustration as i see it is that GV is not as integrated into the phone the same way voice calls are - when you dial out, it goes out through my GV number, not my number from my carrier now, i could send a txt to someone using google's GV widget, but the problem with that is i lose the ability to click on the Messages button in the contact's info page (see pg 36 in the manual) and see my entire text history with that client bummer however, as a result of this whole stock-message-app-draining-the-battery "thing" i've jumped onboard the handcent bandwagon turns out, handcent stores its messages in the phones database/memory/whatever so that the text history is retained and accessible via that Messages button in the contact info page! nice! now.. if only you could send OUT to GV's system through these 3rd party messaging apps (thus avoiding GVs app and its inability to save/store txt msg history in the contacts page), we would be set!
Well, today i learned that when a person sends you a txt through the GV service (ie - they send you a text to your GV number), it appears to you as a 406 area code (see here - read TuXian's post) and furthermore, you can save that number in the contact's info page and send to that person using that number its not "perfect" because its not "seamless" -- the end user has to THINK - and DO SOMETHING for this system to work which is okay for us "techies" and "enthusiasts" - but for the general public, that's not gonna cut it but it seems to work at this point either HTC needs to improve teh Sense UI to incorporate content generated in the GV widget/app, or google needs to store its data in the Hero's file structure.... but this is definitely "kludgy" and they will need to a better job if they expect to rival apple and the iphone in a meaningful and significant way (ok, where did that little rant come from!)

I have been using go SMS pro and I made some backups and made it auto backup by schedule..I've noticed now that something probably went wrong and now I've got most of my SMS twice or trice, or even 4 times duplicate..And if ill try to fix it handily by my self it'll take me 40 years, cuz I got over a thousand messages.. and each one is 2-4 times..
Is there any app that you know that could scan it and delete it by its own?Like scanning the whole SMS and delete those who are the same..?
I just got a Note 10.1 2014 and I've got a duplicated SIM of the one that I have in my S4. I tried sending out a message from the Note 10.1 but it failed. I'm wondering if it's impossible for me to use the same phone number to send a text message from either device which shares the same duplicated SIM card.

I have disabled the calendar for a week, but they showed up again after I re-enabled it. I deleted my exchange account on the phone and re-added it - no changes. How to get rid of the duplicates? I don't have an issue deleting the exchange account from my phone and removing any data files - I just need to know what to remove to clean it up - before I re-add the account.

I just couldn't seem to get it fixed no matter how much merging, joining, splitting, importing, exporting, manually deleting, etc., so I finally just deleted all my contacts. I deleted ALL OF THEM from the phone. I deleted ALL OF THEM from my gmail account. When I look at the Contacts list in my phone now, they are GONE. No more effing DUPLICATES, right? Wrong. Let's say I want to send a text to someone. I open "messaging" and start typing a name, and lo and behold, a list begins to populate with a bunch of %$#@! duplicate names. WTF do I have to do??? I assume one notification is from the FB website and the second is from the FB App? Anyway, I temporarily deleted the FB App and second notifications stopped. Whenever I use another app than my default app to send SMS, eg. I'm using SMSPopup, Glowfly or event another "real" SMS app along with my default one (let's say hangouts or Handcent), I have duplicate sent SMS, that means I have twice my sent messages in my list. I didn't have this issue on JB.
I tried to tweak access/read/write permissions via AppOps but the result is still the same. I now have to use the same app for popups/Notifications and SMS. Other SMS apps are useless because they duplicate the text messages.

I have tried VNC VPN remote desktops and they are way too slow (about 5 fps on my Xperia Play)
I don't want entertainment folder streaming, as I want to display pc games and video, just so long as I can see the entire screen scaled to fit device resolution, 1366 x 768 -> 854 x 480.
I have tried VNC like TeamViewer and IDisplay and they are too slow on the fps, even on lower resolution.
I don't want a remote desktop, interactivity slowing it down, just a duplicate video output of the desktop. No audio.
The idea is to Keep my laptop lid closed, but still be able to view the desktop, while using the mouse regularly.
WiFi or USB is fine. If my Xperia Play can stream Youtube over WiFi clearly this is doable?
I have noticed that when using my phone to reply to a long string of text on forums (or at least some of them) I seem to hit a roadblock at some point. By that I mean, if I wanted to reply to a message like I am typing this right now, if I want to scroll down to the bottom I am unable to if the length of the text reaches a certain point. Or in another situation, I could be typing my reply, but once I write enough to reach that limit I am unable to type any further. This only applies when wanting to reply at the bottom of the string of text. There are ways to work around the issue, but in certain cases they aren't always preferred.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy MMS is not working after flashing a custom rom ( HTC ONE X on VirginMobile Australia ).I realize its to do with the APN settings , I have updated them manually but the MNC field needs to show : 02 , currently its set to 029 - if I change it , it deletes the whole new APN I have put in and Im left with no connection at all.
Is there anyway to change this MNC field? I read on another forum that there is a way through ES File Explorer... going into system/etc and the APN file - but I tried that , and there is def. no APN file in system
