Jan 26, 2011Is there anyway to send out a group email through Gmail on your phone? I've been using the app Contacts Group U to do this but it would be nice to do it straight through Gmail.

View 3 RepliesIs it not possible to send group emails using gmail on the Droid X?I cant seem to get gmail to recognize the group in the To field.Am I missing something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI started a thread that wound up in the Droid X Troubleshooting forum, but I think this is an Android problem, not a Droid X problem... I'm having read receipt issues with the stock Gmail app (it won't let me send them and it auto-sends them to people who request them of me, without giving me the option of sending or declining). In addition, I'm pretty disappointed with the Gmail app, especially when compared to the Blackberry's handling of Gmail. Blackberry's only gmail issue is when you send an email to someone through gmail you get a copy regardless of whether you want one or not.
I'm really concerned about this and would love to find an alternative -- K9 doesn't appear to be compatible with GMail so even if I wanted to I couldn't use that. Anyone have any suggestions? The web interface, incidentally, doesn't feature read receipts -- already considered logging in to send important emails that way. I'm guessing if there's no alternative then the only alternative is to return to my Blackberry for the time being :-/
I've had this problem since I believe the first frg22 release. I have experienced it on the stock rom, and now Liquid's rom 1.4.1.I always do a complete wipe, and everything else works great, but if I reply to any email, the synchronizing between gmail on the phone and gmail on the computer never works. If I star something, read it, or send a reply, nothing ever gets accomplished, the sending just stalls at "sending" for ever. Anyone have a solution?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to send numerous emails through the Gmail app and they won't send. They sit in my Outbox and never send. Is anyone else having this issue, or had this issue and care to help how to reslove it? I had the Smoked Glass Rom, but switched back to my old edited rooted nandroid backup, then even tried the OEM version I had backed up, but it still won't send.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI heard people talking so highly of Vlingo so I installed it last night. It really does work great. My problem is that when I tell it send an email, it uses my gmail account and not my other pop email account which is currently set as default in the Incredible settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've never used Gmail before and I'm playing around with it. I've sent two emails and both have been sitting in my outbox for over 5 minutes. Is there normally this long of a delay in sending email with the Gmail app and is there a way to change it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to forward a message using the native gmail app on android to a group of contacts already established on gmail? I often need to forward an email to a group of employees but have found no way to do it other than logging on to gmail on the computer which isn't very efficient. It seems hard to believe - any third party app that works with gmail to do so?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a search and did not find a clear cut answer for this, perhaps I overlooked it.I have a group set up in Gmail (which I set up on the computer). When I go into the Gmail App on my Droid, I cannot select the group in the "To:" field to send an email to the group. Does anyone know how to get this to work so I can compose a new email on my Droid to send to the group?I do not have this Group set up under my contacts, but it is a group created in Gmail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love Handcent and I know it's super-easy to send message to a group of contacts but I have two questions that I have not been able to figure out:
1) is there a way to create a group and name it instead of having it appear as just a list of people?
2) whenever I send a message to a group it shows each individual message getting sent...is there a way to 'consolidate' this so when I send a message to the group I only see the message I sent once instead of once for each contact it is being sent to?
I'm using Handcent, but I get the same thing if I use the inbuilt messages app. Basically I select a group to send an SMS to and when I send the message it comes back that the multiple messages haven't been sent, but they actually have. First time it happened I kept trying to re-send, got the delivery error every time, despite all 5 lots of messages being sent - I spammed a load of friends! Oddly sometimes it works fine and Handcent does the correct sending of each msg one after another.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'll tap out an email on my Nexus 7 using the Gmail app, press send, and discover that Gmail sent the email empty, without anything that I had just typed. It's usually a reply and the original email will be quoted, but nothing that I typed will be included.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus V, rooted, 2.2 (not sure what it's rooted to, it arrived that way). It has worked fine (except auto-rotate quit awhile back, I gave up trying to fix it) but for the last 2 days or so, GMail absolutely WILL NOT send. Every single email I try to send, it always gets hung on "Sending..." and it won't move a muscle.
It has nothing to do with the quality of the connection, I'm at home operating over a Wi-Fi.
Moreover, the "Sending..." never goes away unless I "wipe" the phone. Even turning it off & on won't do it, and I have no way of deleting it without deleting the entire conversation. I look up and every email I've sent, EVERY ONE has "Sending...." on the screen, and short of doing a "wipe" it absolutely won't go away.
I have an HTC Legend and I am trying to send SMS messages to an e-mail, but they do not arrive to the email or they take a long time to send. I am using the default SMS app.
Is there any way to get SMS to e-mail to work?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, I am sure this has been discussed... BUT One of the really nice things about iOS is the option to choose size of photo before email is sent.
I hate sending 2-3MB emails.
It is one of the few things iOS has going for it IMO.
I like taking High Res pics, but I shouldn't have to resize the master pic before sending... It is too many steps.
Has no one made the app to allow more of this iOS experience?
Can anyone tell me how to set up a Group Address List. I run a syndicate and need to frequently send the same message to 20+ friends and I do not want to have to keep creating the address list each time. I also need to copy previous texts and modify and again send to the same people.

If I try to sync both tablet and phone it will drop the other out. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my work email setup in the email app. Ive never had an issue sending email on any phone ive had before.
All of my settings are correct and i can receive them fine.
They just sit in outbox and whenever i go select them all and tell it to send selected messages nothing happens. They don't send and I don't get any error or anything.
Am I missing something here or is there no way to forward an email to a contact group or list? For the life of me I can't see how to do it...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts, exchange and gmail. All the contacts I care about are in gmail.I also set up my exchange to sync contacts.900 of my contacts are now in the 'corporate' group in contacts on my Galaxy. This means changing those doesn't sync to google.com/contacts and vice versa
question 1: Any way to move all those contacts over to gmail group so they sync?
question 2: Any ideas how this happened?
I set up a family group in "people". When I send an MMS pic to the group it ends up sending it to all their email addresses instead of their mobile numbers. Everything looks right in their contact info and it seems like it should be defaulting to their mobile number when you add them within the "messaging" app.
It works fine when I add everyone manually since it asks me if I want to send to their mobile number or their email. I just want it to default to their mobile numbers if I am working within the messaging app. It's not a deal breaker but kinda annoying since we all send each other pics all the time and having a group set up to do it was actually really easy on my old Windows 6.1.
I don't know why but suddenly my gmail app is not notifying me of new email. When I open the app it isn't even showing that I have new emails even when I can look on my computer and see that I do. Is there a fix for this? I haven't changed any settings on my phone or on the app that would have caused this to my knowledge.
