Motorola Droid X :: How To Send Group Email Using Gmail
Nov 30, 2010Is it not possible to send group emails using gmail on the Droid X?I cant seem to get gmail to recognize the group in the To field.Am I missing something?

Dec 4, 2009I am new to the forum so not sure where this post should go but I am having trouble with finding a way to send a group email from my contacts list. Also would like to know how to forward to a group. Dont want to use my gmail account either, want to use my regular Yahoo mail account. Is there an app that will do this for me? I have searched the forum & cant find an answer.

Feb 2, 2010I installed Petes Bugless rom and It was a little too buggy for me so I went back to my nandroid backup. Everything is fine except for my Gmail will not send an email. It will receive just fine but will not send. It just says sending... I have tried to send myself emails to my other accounts and receive nothing. I can send email with my .Mac email on my Droid though. I tried to delete my account and re-install and it won't let me because its my main one. It says I have to wipe my data first and I really don't want to do that.

Jul 22, 2010For the past 2-3 days I haven't gotten any notifications from my phone saying I have new emails.So I signed into gmail from my computer and I did have a couple messages.I went into "My Accounts" and clicked sync now and they started to come in.I don't know what happened or what I did, but is there any way I can get it to sync by itself like it did before without my having to go to "my accounts" and click on sync now.Now for the sending problem.My sister sent me an email, and I was trying to send a reply back from my droidx and all it does is get stuck on "Send." and it never sends out.I tried to reply to another person and the same thing happened.I don't know what to do.I just got all my customizations the way I like so I will try anything before a factory reset.

Feb 22, 2010I did a search and did not find a clear cut answer for this, perhaps I overlooked it.I have a group set up in Gmail (which I set up on the computer).When I go into the Gmail App on my Droid, I cannot select the group in the "To:" field to send an email to the group. Does anyone know how to get this to work so I can compose a new email on my Droid to send to the group?I do not have this Group set up under my contacts, but it is a group created in Gmail.

May 13, 2010For some reason, whenever I send out an email to someone that's not in my contact list, it appears as a new contact under the people app, with the email address listed. I don't want it to automatically add these emails to my contacts. Is there a way I can stop this, besides un-syncing my Gmail account?

Jun 25, 2010My phone has been trying to send an email from gmail for 2 days. it keeps saying unable to send and I don't know how to stop it. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.

But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?

Nov 2, 2010I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Apr 30, 2010I am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

Oct 21, 2010Updated to 2.1-update1 and everything is fine other than Gmail.
I can't send any emails at all, they just sit in the outbox saying "sending". If I long press on any of them, I get an error:

I can recieve emails with no problems. I've cleared the cache and data for Gmail, I've rebooted the phone countless times, restarted the gmail process etc etc

Mar 13, 2010I'm able to receive my Gmail with the built in Gmail client, but not able to send any. The email just sits in my Outbox in "Sending" status. I've tried waiting, but it never goes through. I eventually go and delete this "Sending" email from the Outbox. However, I'm able to send/receive with the regular Email client that's set up to my work's Exchange server.

Motorola Droid X :: Why Won't Email - Hotmail Send
Oct 1, 2010Up until Sept 19, I was able to either hit reply, compose new, or send emails from links/apps without any issues. I use Hotmail and go thru the stock email client on the phone. All of a sudden, every time I try to send an email, it errors out and I get a notice saying it wasn't sent. The phone doesn't give a reason, and the only option is to delete the message. Did the Froyo update mess something up or what? I haven't changed any of the settings on my account and only occasionally had this happen before, but now it happens on every outgoing message.

Aug 12, 2010My issue is that I am unable to send mail using an email account on my web domain - I get a generic message that states something similar to the email is unable to be sent. I was previously able to email on my old Blackberry using the same account, so I would think it'd be possible on the Droid X. I have tried all ports I saw suggested in the forums on my web host's site but none of the three I tried work for me. I am able to receive mail without any problems and my web host confirmed the below settings should be correct. I know for certain that the user name requires the full email address, rather than just the user name portion. Please see below and let me know what I need to change to get this working. Sep 15, 2010I dont know if its something I did or not but...when I try to forward emails from my Droid Gmail account I get a message that says "Send this message without text in the body". If I continue then it forwards but nothing comes with it.
