Motorola Droid :: Sending Emails As Other Email Account
Jan 6, 2010I have several email accounts that all funnel into GMail, and I have GMail set up so that I can send emails as if I were emailing from one of those various accounts (for example, I have an email account through my school. Emails received in that account go to GMail and I can send an email from GMail but put the "from" email address as my school email). I can't figure out how to do this on my Droid though.

Sep 4, 2010I heard people talking so highly of Vlingo so I installed it last night. It really does work great. My problem is that when I tell it send an email, it uses my gmail account and not my other pop email account which is currently set as default in the Incredible settings.

Aug 19, 2011Ok, I am sure this has been discussed... BUT One of the really nice things about iOS is the option to choose size of photo before email is sent.
I hate sending 2-3MB emails.
It is one of the few things iOS has going for it IMO.
I like taking High Res pics, but I shouldn't have to resize the master pic before sending... It is too many steps.
Has no one made the app to allow more of this iOS experience?

Feb 28, 2013I use mNotes to push my Lotus Notes email to my phone. The problem is it will only allow one device to sync with. If I try to sync both tablet and phone it will drop the other out. I am looking for a way to sync my tablet email with my phone over bluetooth and basically use my phone as the main server to send email through when I am not in the office.

Jan 21, 2014My current device is a BlackBerry 9930 that's going to be retired later today when I get the Samsung Galaxy S4. It's no longer available, but I've been using the old BlackBerry Desktop Manager software that includes a Redirector program that runs on the work computer to send/receive work e-mails on my phone. This avoids the whole IT lockdown on my own personal phone while giving me the only thing I need, which is e-mail access. Is there something similar in the Android community?
If not, would IT have control over my device if I were to add the e-mail account to my device? Something I'd like to avoid as it's my personal phone...

Nov 7, 2011I am a new owner of Photon 4g. I used to have a HTC touch. I am getting "login failed. please try again" message when I try to setup my corporate email.
1> I have tried using both domainusername and just username with no success.
2> Also have tried setting up gmail as corporate account and later changing to the desired account settings as suggested in other forums and it still shows the same error.
3> I have also tried unchecking "verify certificate"
I have been able to using the same credentials on my old phone and it used to work perfectly.

Oct 9, 2013I get emails to my yahoo account from an organization that puts links in its emails.
I have to click on some of these links to email the organization. Clicking one of these links opens up an email with a form I have to fill out.
I'm having a problem using my yahoo email because of something google does involving sync. This is on my nexus 7 which I bought in 2012.When I click on a link in an email, a full-screen window opens up that says
Gmail Account not synced / This account isn't set up to sync automatically.
Touch Sync Now to sync mail once, or Change Sync Settings to set up this account to sync mail automatically.
At the bottom of the screen it has "Sync now" and "Change sync settings" buttons.
I don't want to have to sync; I would just like to avoid or opt out of the whole thing and use the computer normally, without any interference from google. But for what it's worth, I have tried syncing. It never works. I have gone into settings and tried changing sync on and off, I have tried logging out of my gmail account, rebooting; I can never get the link to work. Always the window pops up when I click on an email link.
I have tried copy-pasting the link to the url window (same thing happens). I have copy-pasted it into a text editor and examined it. It has mailto followed by the organization's email address and a string of commands that creates the form-letter body of the email. I need that form letter, I can't just open a blank email to the organization.

Feb 26, 2012I just bought an Epic 4G, and I'm trying to configure it with my email account. I clicked on the email icon on the home screen, and it instantly brought me to a screen that asks me to enter my email address and account password. "You can configure email for most accounts in a few steps," it says. Lies! I've entered my info at least ten times now, double-checked every time, and every time it tells me that either my username or password are incorrect. I promise you this is not the case. I'm trying to configure a Yahoo account.
I tried to add the account manually and the phone says it can't connect to the server.

The problem is, only the E-Mail Icon for collected E-mail accounts shows the total number of "unread" Mails for all accounts, if I add for each account a seperate E-mail icon no number for unread Mails is visible for that account.
How can I configure the Mail app for each account with each icon, so that it shows me the number of unread messages for that specific -E-mail account.

Sep 30, 2010I have my work email setup in the email app. Ive never had an issue sending email on any phone ive had before.
All of my settings are correct and i can receive them fine.
They just sit in outbox and whenever i go select them all and tell it to send selected messages nothing happens. They don't send and I don't get any error or anything.

Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.

Nov 21, 2011I usually send out group emails on my computer so I thought id set it up on my razr. I got the group set up under contacts without any flaws. I go in to send an email to the group and it had them all set up for me nice and neatly. Then it asks me for an account and gmail isnt even an option.
I really dont want to have to add my gmail account under the email accounts section then id have two email apps if you know what i mean.
Do most people use The gmail app or just the email app?

I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?
