HTC Desire :: Phone Randomly Scrolls Through Screens / Fix It?
Nov 6, 2010I got my desire yesterday and when as soon as started to use the phone, it would scroll from the home screen to the left or right. It won't stay on one screen sometimes. Other times it doesn't do this at all. When it is doing, I can go into a menu or something and it will scroll through the different icons. I don't know what the problem is, but it's getting on my last nerve.

Nov 15, 2010So what is going on after the last update? My phone randomly freaks out at times and starts switching screens and stuff on it's own. Seems like it is possessed. Never did this before the update...and a friend of mine is having the same problem with their Incredible. Also at times I try to go back to the home screen and the screen goes completely black for a bit....then will eventually go to it. When it freaks out the only thing I can do is restart it and then it will work fine until the next time it freaks out.

Aug 16, 2012I flashed a rom to test for somebody, but it's not too stable, I started a few texting conversations and some good byes to friends, I really want to go back to the stable version before tomorrow so I'll have a stable phone to use for my first day of college. What if my phone was supposed to receive a text during the time I'm in recovery or fastboot mode? Will I get the text right after I boot up into a rom for the first time or will I just not get it? Mar 30, 2010I created my own boot animation and I am having problems with it. As you can see in the video below, it flashes every time it starts a new folder (part0 and part1) and continuously flashes when it repeats part1. It is not only this boot animation though as I have tried others and they are doing the same thing. If someone could help me with this, EDIT: I have reset to factory settings and tried again to no avail. I don't know what the problem is.

Feb 16, 2009When I have listview and I use some listadapter provided by android API then when you touch item in list it flashes with orange colour and then action is processed. If I have my own adapter this flash doesn't happen. Instead text color changes to black for a moment (and becomes unreadable). Is there something special I need to do to enable it? My adapter is actually based on cursoradapter and all it does is that it adds onClick handlers to some of controls used in list item layout and sets values of some widgets which are not handled by simplecursoradapter by default.

Apr 2, 2010How do I set up a TextView to flash when it is clicked? With flashing I mean that I want to change the background color of the TextView. I essentially want one of the objects that is displayed in a ListActivity, but inside a normal View. I have tried to do this by adding an OnClickListener, but what I really need is something like adding an On(Un)SelectListener. Using the onClickListener, I can change the TextView background, but obviously the background stays that color. I thought of using a new Handler().postDelayed(new Runnable(){... }) kind of thing to reset the backround after some small time, but I did not know if this would be overkill for what I'm trying to do.What would you recommend?

Oct 16, 2013I got the phone from 3 UK on a contract in July, so phone's pretty new and not rooted or anything.
Yesterday the phone started turning itself off at random times quite a lot.
Battery could have been over 60%, at 30%, it was never with the same charge that it would happen, also never when doing the same thing on the phone.
Usually when it's about to turn itself off, I lose signal completely, then the screen just goes black.
When I try to turn it back on, it usually dies again at the 3 logo or even at the Samsung one and I have to try and turn it back on again. Sometimes I had to pull the battery out and connect it to the charger to make it boot up ok.
After a couple of times it did that, it started going into a bootloop when attempting to turn it back on again after the random shutdown. Phone wasn't hot either.
It had happened a few days before but just once not this many times in one single day.
I removed the microSD card, since it makes the phone think the device has been modified and won't let me update, but the microSD works fine in my old Samsung smartphone and even with that removed, phone still turned itself off and then went into a bootloop.
I think it might be the battery. Last time I was using the phone unplugged yesterday night, the battery went down to 33% charge in less than an hour and phone turned itself off. After managing to make it boot up again and connecting it to the charger, it was saying 60% charge. I doubt it could have gone up to 60% being plugged in just for a minute or so.
So, I can certainly take it back to the store and have them fix it or buy a new battery and see if it solves the problem.
Is it likely to be the battery that's malfunctioning?
Lots of people on the Internet seem to have this problem and a few mention a swollen battery. They replaced the battery and phone was fine after. Mine seems ok, but I can't be sure.
I don't understand why I seem to lose signal completely just before it switches itself off... it doesn't do it all the times, but a lot of the times yes.
I have other phones on 3 and they didn't lose signal completely and anyway in my house coverage has always been excellent.
I forgot to mention that once, while trying to restart the phone, I got this message, more or less: "Installing custom OS can damage your system or applications. Choose volume up to continue...". My phone's not rooted and I haven't installed any custom ROM!
