General :: External Infrared Camera For Android
Dec 9, 2012I want to be able to attach specialty cameras to my android product such as infrared, thermal, and microscope. Preferably by USB given that it covers the broadest range of cameras. However for the purposes of this discussion any webcam will do. I know there are several apps that allow for streaming DSLR camera control via USB or wifi. I consider wifi to be unacceptable due to it requiring the network infrastructure. My question is really what is needed to get a webcam to be powered by the phone or tablet and streaming video?
Not that it relates but I use a rooted Droid 3
I really want to use my camera in concert with an infrared light and infrared camera to have a high quality portable night vision. I am fairly certain that this is possible.

Sep 12, 2012I tried to install the viper one rom. Everything installed fine, and I followed the instructions listed. Now my phone boots up to a black screen, has sound of turning on and that is it. The keys at the bottom light up sometimes, but nothing else happens. I can't get my computer to see it as a drive so I can't load any other roms up. And I cannot reload viper because it is no longer showing.

Apr 17, 2010I went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.

So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. Is the reason why it wont work because im rooted(using fresh 2.0)?

One thing that I didn't like about the Pre is that Sprint Navigation is in portrait mode, so it doesn't work well for mounting in a car.Does the Android Sprint Nav work in landscape mode? This would be beautiful to have on the Evo and mounted in the car (and I heard there will be a car mount accessory for it) in landscape mode instead of my GPS I already use.. along with bluetooth to my car stereo.
