General :: MMS Videos Not Displaying Or Coming Through Correctly
Aug 27, 2013Im using a Droid Razr and Im using GoSMS and a lot of times when I get a video from someone with an iPhone, it either shows up as a screenshot with audio, a slideshow with the same screenshot of the video, or a video with no sound (and yes, i checked to see if my audio was on). This only happens with people who have iPhones.

Jul 30, 2010I have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....

Dec 9, 2009Has anyone noticed that when you do a search for a specific app it will say "X amount" results for "(whatever you searched for)" sometimes it wont load the number of apps it found for what I searched for. I have to perform another search for something else and try it again before it will display the apps results.

Android :: Gmail App Not Syncing Correctly
May 15, 2010The Gmail app on my Samsung Galaxy Portal/Lite/Spica (i5700) doesn't seem to be syncing mail correctly when previously it was.
I have updated via Odin to Eclair, however the problem was there in 1.5 and I was hoping 2.1 fixed it. Curiously, the issue wasn't there when I first got the phone and it is a relatively recent issue.
When I read a mail in the Gmail app it should mark as read, however when I log on to Gmail from a PC it still shows as unread. But the phone will still mark it as unread.
How do I make the Gmail app show all mail read through it as read when I log on via a PC?
General :: Maildroid - Inbox Not Displaying Any Email But Combined Inbox Does?
Feb 28, 2013I've been using Maildroid for about 6 months with no issues. However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

Aug 25, 2010So I have several of my own pictures that I have assigned to my GMail Contacts (I assigned them on the web, and they synced to my Droid X automatically). Recently, I noticed when I get emails to my GMail account from these contacts on my Droid X (using the default Droid X GMail app) their contact picture is not displaying in the email. Some of these people (but not all) even have their own Google account that they have assigned their own picture to, and even that isn't displaying. All that displays next to their Name/Email address is the default, gray Android robot - NOT their Contact picture. Unrelated, I've also noticed that on some of my emails in the GMail app, instead of showing "John Smith" as the sender, it displays their email address (JohnSmith99@aol.com). And I have this email address listed in their Contact information on my Droid X - why does it not display their name as I have it in my Droid X Contact list? I can understand if the email address is not anywhere in my Contacts, but it is. It makes little sense and is extremely frustrating.

Aug 11, 2010I have encountered a strange issue. I received two emails from the same source with similar (but not quite the same) subject. Both show up fine in my gmail inbox (as expected) on a browser, but if I use the gmail app on the Droid X, it only shows the most recent message. The two messages were received about 3 days apart, the content of the message is different, but the from address is the same and the subject line is similar (just a few #'s different).

Jan 17, 2012I don't know why but suddenly my gmail app is not notifying me of new email. When I open the app it isn't even showing that I have new emails even when I can look on my computer and see that I do. Is there a fix for this? For example: I have my own email alias: 'bob@builder.com' that is setup up as a forwarder to my Gmail 'bob@gmail.com' which is associated to my android device, but when viewing I'm gmail app it will show the 'gmail tag'... I want it to show my custom email.
Now, I know that you select to send emails using your forwarder, but that's not what I want.

Jan 5, 2012I've had my nifty ZTE Warp for a while now and I'm pretty happy. One thing that's a bit annoying, however, is the email application on my phone. When I'm on my laptop, I frequently delete or sort my emails into various folders through Gmail. The actual Gmail app on my phone will reflect such changes instantly. However, the 'Email' app on my phone seems to store every single email I receive, whether I delete it or not! It also sends me copies of my sent messages. I have two Gmail accounts attached to my phone and I have this same issue with both.

I have entered my account details, I can send emails but I don't get a notification when I receive an email to my Gmail Inbox. I have checked the settings and I have setup a ringtone and selected the option to flag up an icon in the notification bar. However the only way I know I have an email is if I open the app. I have a task manager and Gmail is on the ignore list.

Oct 25, 2009I just wanted to pass this along; You can take it for a grain of salt, but I came away impressed. I decided to make a call to HTC (the number is on their page, if you go to Support and "Hotline" the number is there) to discuss a few of the hardware/software issues that I, as well as others on the board have been experiencing. First off, my wait time was about 3 minutes. Very short, so that was a good start. I spoke to a representative named Jonathan (a woman). The topics I asked about:
1. Why Gmail messages do not show up in the "People" application under the contact's card who sent the email.
2. Some questions that I had about managing memory and the best way to exit a program.
3. The clock widget displaying incorrect time, and the new issue that appeared with the clock today (possibly brought about by some DST error).
4. What happens when you "Clear Data" from the RAM using the "Manage Application" menu.
I began the conversation, which lasted about 40 minutes, asking about the Gmail issue (#1) as that was my biggest query, but added on the others as the conversation went on. She did not know exactly what I was talking about, as she hadn't heard that complaint before. Instead of just saying, "uhhhh, yea, I don't know what to say" or try to spout off some half-assed solution only to get me off the phone, she actually took the time to look in some of their documentation, and when coming up empty, grabbed a new phone, set it up and tried to replicate the issue. At no point in our conversation did she sound like she was saying stuff just to "get by" or end the call. She actually sounded as if she cared......

Anytime I click it it gives me an authentication error and asks me to sign into it, which I can't do of course, becauseit no longer exists.
