May 9, 2010Is there a way to add a magnify glass to txt fields like the iphone has? it would make it ALOT easier to go back and edit text when swyping. It always takes several clicks before I put the cursor exactly where I want.

Oct 18, 2010I have been recently having an issue with my screen when I am scrolling with one finger (no other fingers near the screen) it seems to auto magnify the website or auto scroll from left to right or up and down.
I have done a factory reset several times, cleaned the screen with cloth and have take great care of this phone and yet it still pops up.

How to remove and/or change who that single contact is? For me, Google somehow decided it is my wife, but on my wife's phone, Google decided to put a (male) colleague of hers.

Aug 7, 2012I have a chinese Iphone copy (MT6573 processor, android 2.2) with a laucher that mimics IOS.
I'm having a problem with the phone dialer. Always when I originate a call, the dialer blocks the screen, what makes impossible to finish the call. The dialer app image is on screen but when I press the button to finish the call or the back button, screen just go black. When I press again, it returns to the dialer screen, but if I press buttons again, the screen is cleared again. The dialer just releases the screen when my interlocutor finishes the call or telco operator finishes the voice mail.
I installed GO Dialer EX and Espier Launcher, but the problem persist.

Aug 20, 2013I was sitting in a van/car when my phone fell out of my pants and onto the pavement. It was about a 3 feet fall. At first my phone seemed to be ok. There wasn't any scratches or cracks because it landed flat the screen facing up. But maybe about an hour later a small part of the screen was beginning to become dark. This dark area continued to get bigger after a couple of hours and by the end of the day the screen was completely "blacked out".
And silly me was too ocuppied playing with a guitar I had just bought instead of thinking about backing up or copying my important data from my phone, like pictures and notes etc. So later when I plugged my phone into my computer, I found out that I couldn't access the phones files like I would do on Hardisk taken from i.e. a laptop. When I go to Computer on Windows and look for my phone which is appearing as GT-I9100 as a camera and when I click on it says folder is empty. So I realized that I might not be able to get my data from my phone in case I get a new phone from the dealer.
I'm not very familiar with Android devices but I'm wondering if it's because I have a screen lock password that I can't get to the data on my phone?
PS - I'm thinking this is one those classic examples of, "You should have backed up everything on your phone everyday" scenario. Luckly I have most the pictures on my phone transferred to my computer already.

Mar 28, 2014I've had a Samsung Galaxy Ace for a year and a half and have never had any problems with it. It gets dropped once or twice a week, but besides that it stays pretty safe. Last night I went to restart my phone and when I turned it back on it showed its logos like it always does before bringing me to my lock screen but this time it got stuck at the Samsung logo. It pulsed white and blue for around 30 seconds, then goes through all the logos again and it does this on loop. I've tried removing the battery and trying it, removing the SD and SIM cards and trying it, and no luck.

General :: App Data Backup From Phone With Broken Screen
Jun 4, 2014I broke the screen/digitizer on my phone the other night. I got a new replacement phone through my mobile insurance. I was able to create a backup of my old phone through Kies since it's only the screen that won't work. However, upon further research, I'm seeing that Kies does not back up apps or app data. It says it does, when I selected everything while I was backing up but it won't let me when I try to restore it to the new device. It will only let me restore the contacts, pics, music etc.. which I already have on my micro SD card.
I've seen that people use helium backup but I am unable to do anything on my old device other than plugging it into a computer. I can't install helium on the old phone. Will I be able to backup the broken phone just with Helium Desktop?

Oct 24, 2013Phone froze on the samsung home screen, i took out the battery and replaced it, still nothing! i did the home, volume down and power buttons did the download, it started downloading then the screen went black, it now wont even go onto the home screen. Jul 1, 2013People are still sending me texts even though I can't read them. I can still hear notification sounds. I've gotta get a replacement quick, but I also need to get the important texts I missed. Is there any way I can get them through my mac?
To be clear, the screen is completely blank but I can still unlock it via touch pattern. It takes a few tries but Android File Transfer on the mac will tell me if it can or can't connect. If it can't, I just try again and I can get it. So the touch part still works, it just doesn't show any information.
The phone is a Galaxy Nexus. When I connect it to my Mac, I can see the files in it via the Android File Transfer window. However, I can't find the texts here.
I have the Android SDK installed and I was told I can do this: adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db..However the device shows up as offline when I do adb devices. I can't figure out a way get it showing up as online without being able to use the screen.

Feb 28, 2014I just encrypted my LG G2 and chose I believe a 17 character random password which includes punctuation. It's hard enough to remember and I only wish to enter it when I power on the phone. However it seems I have to enter it every time the phone locks itself. I don't want that, it's a heck of inconvenience. I just want swipe to unlock, not no pin or no pattern and only want to enter the big as password when the phone turns on. I am rooted and on the latest AT&T firmware.

Jun 30, 2012Any way to change how the phone behaves in regards to the screen waking up after ending a Bluetooth phone call? Windows Mobile handled this correctly. Android does the opposite.
For example, I am on a phone call using BT headset, I press the power button and put the phone to sleep, put the phone in my pocket, end the call and the screen wakes up with the dialer open. Guess what happens next.....pocket dialing!
WM would end the call and the screen wouldn't turn on, and even after waking it up it was locked.
BT headsets, voice dialing, but I can't just leave the phone in my pocket?
End call should equal no wake or unlock(no action)

General :: Phone Screen Remained Black And Was Not Responding
Jul 12, 2013i tried flashing and rooting using this thread: URL....but all went wrong when i flashed the kernel using flash mode. Im using a sony ericsson live with walkman. Using falshtool 0.9.11.0 all was fined. it displayed flashing done.
then i followed the steps then tried to root it. but couldn't as it in the command prompt it kept waiting for my device and sometimes displayed daemon tools load successfully. my phone screen remained black and was not responding.when i connect it to my pc it seemed it is not recognized but makes the sound when something is connected to the pc. i am unable to use my phone.i think there is the problem with the adb.i just dont get it well. i cant updat the sm bus driver..when i try to reflash it and re plug via cable it display:
