i have a gt-s5300 phone rooted with a ported custom rom I have a problem when my phone is off and charge it the screen wont turn off besides if it take too long my screen goes to white screen And if turn on it it only restart.

[Q] Is it Okay to charge phone while doing CWM Backup?
Because it takes such a long time and battery drains quite abit, i was wondering is it ok for me to charge phone while during CWM backup.
Will it corrupt or affect the backup in anyways?
I've just started having a problem with my MyTouch 4G in which it won't charge while the phone is switched on. The battery charging symbol displays but the battery % slowly decreases. I have tried using a different battery but no luck. If I go into "battery usage" in settings it says that Wifi & Cellular Idle are the 2 biggest users with 29% each. The strange thing is that these 2 are always using 29% even if I turn Wifi off and put the phone on flight mode. Another user had a similar problem and it turned out to be an app using buttloads of power but I can't identify any on mine doing this. I've done a virus scan.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to the Verizon Store to find out why my battery was not holding a charge for more than 4 - 5 hours. They checked it out, downloaded a battery saver app and sent me on my way stating my phone was no longer under warranty. Then my phone would not hold any charge, I again went to the Verizon store and was told there was nothing they could do. I went to Battery Warehouse to see if they could change the battery, they could not. So, I decided, since it was out of warranty I would removed the battery myself and see if I could order a new one. Well that was another problem because noone knows how to reinstall a battery once you open the back and take it out. So now I am going to activate my Droid 3 and use it until I update to an Iphone in August.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI didn't have any problems with it until late last year. phone wouldn't charge unless I had the wire in a certain position. I tried switching to a generic cable, but that didn't work either. even so, the phone would still charge, so it was good enough.
but a few days ago, my phone started beeping constantly while giving me the "plug your charger in" message. now it hardly charges unless my phone's off, and it loses battery life while it's charging charge when it's on. I've tried switching cables and outlets.
I recently used the USB to charge my phone on the laptop.Next time i went to look in my gallery most of my pics and videos are gone. i also can't find a folder on my computer that contains them. are they gone forever or is there a way to retrieve them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, a couple of days ago I dropped my Acer Liquid Express on the pavement, and the impact caused it to shut off, and stay off.
If I plug it into a charger (wall or PC) the screen lights up and it shows itself to be charging as usual, so there's still some sort of life in it, but it won't register a charge in the battery (it was on at least 50% when I dropped it). It also won't respond to any button presses, meaning I can't turn it on, perform a hard reset or access it from PC. I've tried the usual tricks, taking out the battery and sim card, holding the power button for x amount of time, and I'm currently leaving it on to charge for a couple of days to see if it wakes up.
My question is, is my phone salvageable or would I be better off throwing in the towel and replacing it? Is it possible a replacement battery would kick it back into life? It isn't completely dead, as it displays the charging animation when I plug it in, but I'm really not sure what can be done with it at the moment.
Is there a way to charge my phone with a broken charging port?

When I turned on the phone it did the "Connect to pc screen" and I just selected charge only. It has never done this to me before. When I got home I also plugged it into the wall charger and it did the same thing. Also randomly now, the little headset with a microphone icon pops up. I have turned the phone on and off and also pulled the battery but it still does it.

I'm starting to see more and more threads about this over the last few days with other phones, but not for the Incredible. Everyone is saying 'turn it in, get a new phone.' What a pain in the butt to do that.
No one seems to have a cause for this. For me, I bump charge in the morning, and when I unlock after restart, everything goes black. I lock, unlock a few times, then I see my apps, but over a black back ground. I swap out my wallpaper and it works fine for me all day. But the last 3 mornings has resulted in a black screen.
I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
it works perfectly fine with main charge and usb charge and now it won't charge whatsoever no matter how i try. i did the factory reset on my x10. still it wont charge. btw when i turn off my x10 first, then connects it to the power. it would turn on my phone like others but just wont charge.

When I charge it with the cable that came with it, it charges fine. But if I charge it with the Moments cable, it doesn't charge. The battery icon is animated as if it's charging and Spare Parts reports that it's charging, but the battery level continues to fall as if it's not plugged in.

Yet i am still only getting 5 hours max off charge with my phone. What gives? I do have GPS enabled on all the time but that should not matter. I love my phone no matter what, but this battery shit is pissing me off. My HTC touch can go 2 days with no charge and still be able to make a phone call. HTC EVO not even 5 hours before it dies.
View 18 Replies View RelatedMy phone is almost unusable when its on the charger. my lock screen doesn't like to unlock, my keyboard goes completely nuts. doesn't matter if its the house charger or the car charger or connected to the computer, it gets really unresponsive. it really pisses me off. i have done at least 3 hard resets in the past 3 weeks and it doesn't help. im starting to think it may be launcher pro or something. anyone else have a problem like this while charging?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI haven't seen this issue reported anywhere else so here it goes. I just updated my phone to froyo last night and had no apparent issues. When I woke up I noticed that despite charging the phone overnight the battery was dead. I was able to start the phone up with the charger plugged in. This is when I found out that the battery won't receive a charge. I have tried using the standard plug as well as plugging the usb cable into the computer; no dice. The lightning bolt on the top right of the screen is there, but the green slice on the battery that constantly recycles is stuck. I tried a master reset on the phone and that didn't work either. Anyone else encounter this issue? Any ideas how to fix it? I bought my phone at Best Buy, and of course they are all sold out in the area, so it will be a major pain getting a replacement (I'm within the 30 day window).

Should I live with the hassle until 2.2 is rooted, or return the phone for a replacement and risk that they will force an update to stock 2.2? I'm assuming I'd have to return to stock before taking phone in for service, too (and just after I finished getting everything setup after updating to rooted Froyo).

There's a little yellow/orangish light that came on but nothing saying where it's at in the charging process. Will the light change color once it's fully charged? Am I okay to turn it on now?
