View 2 RepliesAnyone having issues with scratches on their screen? Ive had my Evo about 3 weeks now and Im noticing several minor scratches. The only thing the scratches can be from is putting it in and taking it out of my left blue jean pocket. Also, the USB cable / phone connector seems a little flimsy. Anyone having issues with that too?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile looking at my screen in bright sunlight this morning, I noticed there are some light scratches that appear to be under the screen. I can only see them in direct sunlight or under a bright desk light while holding the phone at a certain angle. Is this at all normal? I just got the phone on Friday and noticed this immediately and haven't dropped it, pocketed it with keys, etc. I would think if the scratches were on the outside of the glass, they would be easier to notice. Would you send it back for a replacement?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWell my f'ing Honda key did it again! It got my Eris and now my Incredible. God I am so careful not to put anything in the same pocket as my phone but the one time I was out in board shorts and had to put them in there together all over my screen! I hate screen protectors because I LOVE the feel of the glass and hated my Droid with its Zaggs protector. Oh well I guess I have proof for anyone thinking these screens are scratch proof.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've heard that the screen is like the HD2 and that thing does not scratch whatever you do to it, but what about the back? I've heard that the texture is the same as the Hero.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm considering getting a screen protector, but I'm also wondering how much it'll affect sensitivity/responsiveness. If I do get something to protect my phone, what is the best material/brand/manufacturer to go with? Or perhaps just a leather case would be enough? That way the screen stays perfect and it's still protected when I'm not using it.
After all, I heard the screen quality is pretty good. It's glass, or am I thinking of a different phone? It might not be a "Gorilla" screen like the Samsung Galaxy, but I've heard it's pretty resilient. I think it should be ok with just a leather case, unless anyone here's already got some bad experiences with the screen?
Is the bezel around the screen metal or plastic? Will help me decide on if I put it in a case or not...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was showing off my droid the other day and attempted to wow the audience by keying the scratch proof screen.Note that I do not have any screen protection yet. They were wowed allright but the next day I noticed very very faint scratches on my screen.I gave the screen a good rub with my shirt and they disappeared along with the smudges and dust so i didnt think anything of it.I just checked again a few min ago and I saw those same scratches imprinted in the dust and smudges that had gotten on the screen.I again gave it a good rub and they dissappeared but I'm starting to wonder how the heck is this even happening?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Droid has a very small scratch on the screen. It's not bad enough to have a texture (I can't feel it if I rub my finger over it), but it does reflect the light in just a way that makes it fairly visible when a light background is displayed. I'm always very careful with my phone, and I have no idea how it got scratched.I've heard of numerous home remedy type fixes for screens, but some of them sound completely outlandish and some sound like they might damage the screen even worse. Is there any "real" way to fix it or am I stuck with the scratch? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for screen protectors? I've heard that lots of them mess with the touch screen or distort the picture. Are there any truly "good" screen protectors?
View 30 Replies View RelatedI used my Xperia X10 Mini Pro for a few dyas before I got myself a case or a screen protector. Unfortunately I picked up some minor scratches on the screen even though I was very careful! Can anyone suggest a way to remove the scratches? In the past I have used Displex but I not sure this should be used on a touch screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs this plastic really necessary? My brother says it helps protect the back of the screen from the slide out mechanism.I'm asking because some of it is starting to come off through regular use and I'm wondring if it's gonna be a problem if it is necessary and it all comes off.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI've been using my X10 mini for 3-4 months now. The screen is already full of scratches (even with careful use), some are smaller, some are larger.Do you guys happen to have any suggestions on what products would be best (and in any case, not make things any worse) to polish the screen? Some products which can be found from Amazon or eBay would be great.I'm thinking of buying an invisibleSHIELD for the phone, but I'd like to have a scratch-free screen underneath it.Thanks Sony Ericsson for misguiding the customers with specifications promising a scratch resistant screen, while it obviously is just some soft plastic.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new X10 has got lots of small scratches on it, its my own fault! have dropped it once and not got a case for it yet, is there any way of buffing the scratches out? I can get a new screen (about 50 off ebay) but dont really want to spend money on a new screen if i can help it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased my Incredible only a few weeks after it was first released.Love it haven't had problems like a lot of the other people here when they first bought it.Anyways I love my phone. What I don't love however, is the freaking case I purchased when I first got the phone. Was a verizon snap on hard cover broke recently.Being the clutz that I am, I left the phone on my lap while in the car, and when I stepped out I forgot it was there and BOOM, clanked on the concrete.Have some abrasions on the shiny black plastic around the screen.I was wondering, is there anyway to fix this, or have it repaired? anything?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my droid since day 1.I just noticed a clear plastic film on the back of my screen when I slide it open.Is this just a temporary throw away plastic protector?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I bought my LG ally and the sales rep walked out with a bunch of cases and asked my favorite color. I chose the clear one. I love the sales rep to death cause he is actually a really good friend, however, I don't feel safe with the cheap-feeling plastic case. Its the clear one that flexes alot and stuff. DOes it really protect it?I had the body glove on my old env touch and, while working on a 3 story roof on the phone, dropped it and it landed straight on concrete. Walked down, picked it up and finished my call. On the other hand, I drop my ally out of my car on accident and the case simply falls off.if theres no benefit, i'm just going to take it off as it looks dumb.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy X10i smells like burned plastic. But I cant see anything wrong in my phone.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi went to pick up my phone and felt that the bottom right portion of the phone where the mic is on the front had some play. Its not noticeble unless you actually touch that part. And now that i know its there its bugging the heck out of me. I would like to know if anyone has this same problem. Or is there a way to fix this? i would really like to know. It's never been dropped or banged.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought an Epic 4G from the shack and I bought a 15 dollar case, don't buy the case that is 15 bucks and by a brand that I dont' even know. It bent the plastic piece up on my phone and I had to snap it back in place, Now it is loose where it was up. I am going to be buying another case from best buy and returning this one to radio shack. Kinda irritated and annoyed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some help with cases. Ive seen a couple on ebay, amazon, some online stores, but i can never find a review. I don't know if they will fit snug or not. Im going for more of a silicon plastic case, i don't need a screen protector i got one. Just the case, thanks. So any recommendations?
View 26 Replies View RelatedAnybody know for sure whether the Moment's screen is glass or plastic?I've looked around for the answer, but there seems to be conflicting reports. So far I'm amazed at how scratch resistant the screen is.Still pristine after heavy usage, so I'm assuming it's a glass screen. But I haven't been able to find any definitive source.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm sure I read a review somewhere where they said the Desire's screen was plastic right/wrong?I'm thinking of replacing my Hero which has a nice hard glass screen but don't fancy a plastic screen.Someone tell me it ain't so please?
View 20 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a "skin" type case, plastic or otherwise that goes on the back and will lock or prevent the keyboard from sliding open. I have no intention of using the keyboard.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had an idea of buying an cheap screen protector to cut out a circle for the camera on the evo 4g. Anyone else have an idea on how to protect the evo's camera. And will this mess up picture or video quality.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHTC's horrible decision in placement of the stand(aka right where the phone rests), my kickstand has developed some scratches. I know their is a solution I can probably use to get rid of the scratches but not sure exactly what it is. Any anyone knows or has any ideas how to get the scratches off, please post.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI canceled my order for a seidio innocase II because of the thread that showed that the case caused scratches on the phone. I want to keep my evo in pristine condition and want something that won't scratch it and that I can get in less then a weak. I saw the active seidio case on amazon but shipping estimates are 3-4 weeks from now and that just won't happen. I know I will probably have to go with a silicon case and I'm ok with that.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis thread is for people like me, who ARE NOT using screen protectors. Just wondering if anyone in this forum has any scratches on their Captivate screen and if so, from what? I've had my Captivate since the beginning of August and do not have one scratch on the screen. Feel free to share your stories.
View 49 Replies View RelatedHaving owned the droid for one day I already have a scratch on the plastic/metal? the side where you plug in the USB. Underneath there are a bunch of scribbles when I tried to plug it in the dark. Also the rubber on the back of the device... the rubber strip that is on top of the camera also has a noticeable tear. I have done nothing to the device except keep it in a clean pocket that had nothing else in it. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Seems like solid build quality with the internal hardware well protected but I worry it can easily be cosmetically damaged.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI wanna start out by saying I love my droid but on thing that bugs the crap out of me is the finish on the top of the thing. It looks nice and polished for a few weeks but then it starts to chip like crazy. The screen is holding up perfectly its just the corners of the bezel. I think they should have gone wth a matte or aluminum finish or even the soft finish like on the battery cover.
View 31 Replies View RelatedI bought a new original shell to change for my old one which have scratches. Now I realize I need some special screwdrivers to release the phone from the shell.
I don't have to mention what I think of this madness but does anyone know what types of screwdrivers I need or will I really have to send it in for service?
