View 1 RepliesToday when I'm was coming out of gym my phone just fell to the floor. The battery disassembled but it seemed not a big problem.
When I tried to switch it on, the screen became black, but i noticed that the screen turns on because it is not complete black, i noticed a bit of light change. And the most amazing is that I can ear the sound of the music of boot, and the tactile buttons are also with light.
Maybe I can't solve it at home because i would need to dissasemble it but I look for my guarantee and that's in time, the problem is that the phone is rooted, and with rom enhance 236, and this broke my guarantee, can install stock rom just using usb cable?
My Galaxy S4 screen is just completely black. I can turn on my phone and even put in my pattern code on the screen, but it remains black. I have tried to reset it multiple times and I don't really know what to do. Any possible fix without having to get a repair.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have problem setting brightness manually. When i set brightness level at minimum, the screen goes completely black. Hard reset and change ROM don't fix the problem. The phone is a nexus 4 . looking at youtube i discovered this video.URL....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Note 2 yesterday and the screen started slowly turning blue. This morning, the screen completely got filled with blue/white/messed up color, and then went completely black. Touchscreen still worked though because I was able to maneuver around the phone right after it was dropped. Screen was not cracked. does the screen has to be replaced as well or i can replace it with smaller parts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I dropped my vibrant (with rubber SGP Silk case) about 4 feet from the ground and the screen is completely destroyed. There is no external damage, but functionality is completely gone. I got my vibrant about a month ago.
View 19 Replies View RelatedSo I was at work today browsing the market and suddenly my screen went black. I tried pressing the power button to wake it but got nothing. After a few minutes of waiting, I pulled the battery. The phone will boot past the "Samsung", "Galaxy S" and "Verizon" screens, but gets stuck on the Verizon one for a while then goes dark. The soft buttons on the bottom stay lit. That's it. I've probably done it 10-15 times through the evening now, and I get no farther.
I wasn't doing anything particularly taxing at the time, and I haven't added anything recently that would have caused a change in any system files. I'm running voodoo v.2 with the OCLF (because it won't uninstall) and all has been well for almost six weeks now... then all of a sudden this happens.
I'm thinking maybe I need to learn exactly what Odin is and how to use it, but any help that you can give would be great.
Darn phone completely disappears in my black-lined purse
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently dropped my evo for the 2nd time. 1st time no noticeable damage. 2nd time (it has a Seido Inocase II) at the bottom of the screen a large ironic smile appeared all in green and black dead pixels. I have insurance, but its pretty pricy to replace this right now I also noticed 2 weeks into this phone (which is a replacement for my first 30 day phone) that I have dust under the screen (same reason I replaced the first at RadioShack) in the top left corner. Do I have grounds for a manufacturing defect from HTC? Or am I completely boned into paying the 100? Please anyone with insurance and/or HTC defect experience let me know!
View 3 Replies View Relatedi tried flashing and rooting using this thread: URL....but all went wrong when i flashed the kernel using flash mode. Im using a sony ericsson live with walkman. Using falshtool 0.9.11.0 all was fined. it displayed flashing done.
then i followed the steps then tried to root it. but couldn't as it in the command prompt it kept waiting for my device and sometimes displayed daemon tools load successfully. my phone screen remained black and was not responding.when i connect it to my pc it seemed it is not recognized but makes the sound when something is connected to the pc. i am unable to use my phone.i think there is the problem with the adb.i just dont get it well. i cant updat the sm bus driver..when i try to reflash it and re plug via cable it display:

I had a couple of low height drops that didn't result in any damage. The phone is actually really tough. But the other day I found out how tough it really is. I had it in my car between my legs and when I got out and stood up, down it went, face first on to an asphalt parking lot. It made a sound unlike it had before, and I knew right away. There is one small crack running from about 3 o'clock to about 1 o'clock running diagonally across the screen. Surprisingly, everything still works as it should and the crack hasn't spread. I do have a screen protector, and I think that is the only thing that may have kept it from being worse.
I also had the hard silicone cover on as well. A quick call to VZW to see what I could do, $90 for a claim through Assurance. Not really what I wanted to hear). I will admit that I did not check on claim deductible prices when getting insurance. I expected to hear $25 or $30 maybe; but not $90. I can't upgrade again until July of next year and I really hate this happened because I'm basically stuck with the phone. I have no options other than filing the insurance claim or buying a new phone at full retail price. Is there any fix for the screen I could possibly do myself, or am I just screwed?
The screen is shattered which sucks. It's still usable but looks horrible. I have insurance on it so I have some questions as to the whole procedure i'll have to go through when I bring it to verizon.
1: Does my insurance cover if I drop it?
2: Do I have to get a new phone or can they send it in and get the screen fixed?
3: Do I have to pay for a new phone? If so will they then send me a new one and let me keep my old one so I still have a phone while I wait?
It sucks because I've never dropped it, and it was just my luck that it falls right on the screen.
I bought a cheap (all I could afford) jelly bean Chinese Star N9776 phone 6" and on the whole have to report its great for the money. The only problem is that when I make a call or receive a call the ALS_PS sensor I think turns the screen off and it will not come back on until the call ends.
I have searched for answers and have found that this is a common problem. One thread suggested that if you enter the boot menu with the volume and power key you can sellect an option to disable this feature. However the menu is in Chinese !!

Yesterday, i decided to factory reset my phone to wipe all data and i done that this way: Settings - Backup and Reset - Factory Reset. After this, my phone reboot and now the operative system does not launch. The screen lights on but doesn't do nothing, neather the logo appears. I've tried to pull out the battery, full charged it and some other things and remains the same.
I've tried to go to Recovery mode but i don't know how to access it in this chinese phone. I've tried Vol Down + Power Button, Vol Up + Power Button, Home + Power Button...doesn't do nothing, only black light screen.
So I got my Eris on Wednesday and dropped it today and did I mess it up. It feel from about waste level, I'm 5'8 so it wasn't that high. I even slid my foot out to stop a direct hit to the ground which was successful. However this didn't help at all. The entire screen shattered but the phone still works. I know I should have a case for it but in the 9 years of having a cell phone this is the first one I dropped one. I was planning on getting one but haven't had the time to go out and get one yet.
Anyways I though the Eris had the gorilla glass that was basically unbreakable. It doesn't seem like a fall from waste hight, slowed down by my foot, onto the linoleum floor at the food store would destroy the screen. The cracks start at the corner and spider web through the whole screen. Everything I've read about people dropping the phone said it never broke. I am wondering if the screen might actually be defective, probably not but I'm grasping at straws to avoid the insurance deductible. Good thing I have insurance on the phone.
I dropped my Droid today about a foot onto a carpeted floor and upon picking it up, the screen no longer displays anything, but does respond to swiping to unlock, etc. Can someone post a picture of the Recovery menu(s) for factory data reset and wipe cache? would this even help, or maybe an SBF flash?
View 4 Replies View RelatedNow I have dropped my Inc many times (I have the rubber case) and never had a problem. Well on Sunday I was coming home from the airport and dropped it perfectly about 3 feet directly on the screen on a rock and kablooey, it was shattered. I mean ruined to the point where you couldn't touch it without getting cut. However it actually still worked perfectly, but for obvious safety reasons I needed to get a new one. To make a long story short I got Verizon to send me a new one, and I couldn't be happier. Now they explained that I didn't receive a new one or a refurbished one, rather one that was returned immediately by someone.
It looks great, works perfectly and is running faster and smoother than my old one did. This is even after I did a backup from AppBrain to re-download over 130 apps. My only sadness is that I lost all my levels on Angry birds, and that I had to reset up my phone with all the little personalizations that I had before. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their replacement. My old phone (one that had received the update) It was constantly bogged down, and got better once I did a factory reset, however it still wasn't as smooth as my new one.
Today I dropped my phone from about chest level. And when I picked it up the screen wouldn't turn back on. There are no any cracks on the screen and all of the touch stuff still works, what i mean is when the phone is on i can still unlock and scroll down i can feel it vibrate when I do so. I have tried pulling the battery and restarting and nothing will help. Does anyone else have any idea of whats wrong or how to fix it.?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI dropped my droid for the last time. The screen finally cracked. I can get a new droid (like new) that is backodered or get the droid 2. Was wondering what crackdowns think and should I push to get droid x. Am leaning towards droid 2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo how few options do I have? I dropped my incredible on the garage floor and it hit in the corner and shattered. It still works fine, but I had to put some tape below the screed near the optical sensor to cover the sharpness from the cracks where the screen protector doesn't cover.
Anyhow, I did not get insurance as I'd never used it in the 15 years I owned a cell phone... murphy's law of course. I went to a Verizon store and they gave me a phone number of a 3rd party repair guy. He's closed for the day so I started to Google stuff and it seems that I am up the creek. The screens are the reason they are not making these as fast as they'd like so I assume there are none available. I cannot find any info on repairing them... not looking good is it?
I am creating a little application where I use the Android Camera class. Everything seems to work but the result is a black picture. I think I forget to set a parameter. Do you have any ideas on which parameter I must set up ?
The code:
public boolean takeIt() { ImageCaptureCallback iccb = null;
try { String filename = "photo.jpeg";
ContentValues values = new ContentValues();
values.put(Media.TITLE, filename);
values.put(Media.DESCRIPTION, "Image capture by camera");
iccb = new ImageCaptureCallback(new FileOutputStream(new File (dataMgr.getRoot(), filename)));
} catch(Exception ex ){ ex.printStackTrace();
} camera.takePicture(mShutterCallback, mPictureCallbackRaw, iccb);
return true;
}
I was in the pool when I dropped my phone in it. It was only submerged for about 2 seconds. I was at a friends and they didn't have white rice so i had to put it in brown rice-- all day. Then today I put the battery in it and it acting the same, everything works but when I touch the screen it doesn't do anything. It has now been in a air tight sealed bag full of white rice for about 3 hours... It still doesn't work.. I have college tomorrow and I need my phone...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI followed the instructions and examples on Android website to create a context menu but mine shows up completely black and i cannot change any options in it ; anyone out there had the same experience and can help me solve this issue.
FWIW, here are my class .java and the menu .xml files code...
I have been trying to root my Huawei Prism II with Android 4.1.1 for a while now, but whatever rooting program I use, it will keep getting stuck on Step #7. I also tried rooting the phone manually, but ran into a problem:
Code:
1|shell@android:/data/local/tmp $ ./psneuter
./psneuter
Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device).For some reason my device will show up before I begin the process of rooting, seen below:
Code:
70723C61AA05device
But when I check to see if the device is still there while in shell@android, it won't show any devices.I am wondering if this has anything to do with not having the OEM driver for this phone? I've been looking all over the internet for the offical driver, but have not been able to find one for this device, so I have been using the one that was automatically installed by Windows 7 which is the Android Composite ADB Interface.
I have a T-Mobile prism phone that has been successfully rooted with Lingo app android software. The version of the android app is as follows.
Android version 4.1.1
Mobile model Prism II
jbed 1.2 for Android
Libjbedvm.so installed in /system/lib. Rw Rw Rw
I installed Jbed successfully and rebooted prior to starting it. I keep getting the following error.
Unfortunately, java has stopped.
How do I resolve this issue? What java app can I download and from where to test it? I assume that the app must me a jar file to test it?
Dropped my E4G, and I suppose in the impact the continuity between the card and socket were broken, and, well, I now have a useless sd card until I format it.
Problem is, I have very important photos on this card I would REALLY like to get off because they are not able to be replaced. Pictures of my daughter.I have tried EaseUS and Minitool, which did not work. Tried chkdsk, but the card is listed as RAW, so no go.
I bought a Sony Ericcson Mini Pro in August 2010. The display screen on the phone sometimes blanks out completely and is quite erratic in nature. Only when I pull the battery cover the display screen starts on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, a couple of days ago I dropped my Acer Liquid Express on the pavement, and the impact caused it to shut off, and stay off.
If I plug it into a charger (wall or PC) the screen lights up and it shows itself to be charging as usual, so there's still some sort of life in it, but it won't register a charge in the battery (it was on at least 50% when I dropped it). It also won't respond to any button presses, meaning I can't turn it on, perform a hard reset or access it from PC. I've tried the usual tricks, taking out the battery and sim card, holding the power button for x amount of time, and I'm currently leaving it on to charge for a couple of days to see if it wakes up.
My question is, is my phone salvageable or would I be better off throwing in the towel and replacing it? Is it possible a replacement battery would kick it back into life? It isn't completely dead, as it displays the charging animation when I plug it in, but I'm really not sure what can be done with it at the moment.
HTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeveral times now my Desire's screen has just stayed black when pressing the power key to unlock it. It's like it's in a deep sleep with no way to wake it. If you call it the screen will not light up but the phone will either ring with no way of answering it or just flash the missed call light. The call can still be silenced or rejected with the buttons.
So my question is this a hardware or software issue? I'm inclined to think software because pulling the battery then rebooting solves it, until it happens again, sometimes the same day others a few days later. I always switch the phone off at night to give it a fresh start each day. I do not use any task killers or obscure apps. Phone has minimal virgin mobile UK branding on it, and running firmware 1.15.405.4 with no option to update to the newly released version.
