May 9, 2012Closest thing I can find is Popup Notifier, but not only does it wake up the device, it leaves a ton of popups when unlocked. I would rather have popups on the lock screen.

Jan 10, 2014Mobile phone. I bought it year and a half ago, and have changed operating systems few times (custom roms). Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?

Apr 13, 2010Tried rooting so I started off flashing r8 of bh_man's 1.6 rom. Went through the setup, odin turned blue to pass and I let the phone run past the android system and then the screen turned off.
Thing about it is that the phone is still being detected by the computer and odin. It's like my phone is on a screen lock but not responding to when I push unlock.
Ive tried every custom rom and each one does the same. I try to go back to stock and most of the time the program closes, when it doesn't I try to flash it and it goes through the process but goes on forever. One time I let the timer go on for 2 hours and it was still on 5/9 completed.

Nov 5, 2010Can anyone help, I have been looking up this problem for hours now and have come up with no answers... My lock on phone randomly works. Sometimes I turn on phone and its there and sometimes its not. I have phone set for a pattern lock and to set up after 5 minutes.I just turn my desire on sometimes by pressie the top bottom and the finger slide thingy..isn't even there.This can be after 10 minutes or 3 hours no difference.

I stay connected to the barnacle wifi signal but no Internet, in the barnacle app I get connection errors, I just need to stop the service and restart for the problem to be fixed, this only happens when the screen turns off so now I have the screen always on when tethering but that is not good form the battery.I have auto killer installed, I tought that it was the problem, and that auto killer was turning off the service but I uninstalled auto killer and problem persists, I have no other task manager installed.

Mar 28, 2014I've had a Samsung Galaxy Ace for a year and a half and have never had any problems with it. It gets dropped once or twice a week, but besides that it stays pretty safe. Last night I went to restart my phone and when I turned it back on it showed its logos like it always does before bringing me to my lock screen but this time it got stuck at the Samsung logo. It pulsed white and blue for around 30 seconds, then goes through all the logos again and it does this on loop. I've tried removing the battery and trying it, removing the SD and SIM cards and trying it, and no luck.

Feb 25, 2012 I've tried so many app's over the last couple of days that claim to stop the screen from locking but they have all just bypassed the lock screen... Well, they've tried to anyway. These kind of work arounds don't actually stop my phone from locking in the first place though.
My phone is a W008+ iPhone clone with Android 2.3.3. When it's charging, the screen will time out and switch off; But it doesn't lock. So I can hit any key to bring the screen back on and as it wasn't locked in the first place, I'm taken straight back to where I was.
When not charging, I get the same behaviour for ~2 or 3 seconds... Any longer and it locks forcing me to use the power key and swipe the lock screen along with any other security measures I may have in place.What I'd like is to be able to set the 'lock' timeout in the way that I can set the 'screen' timeout.How far will I have to go to get this functionality?
Is there a setting I've missed? I'm very new to Android so there's lots I don't know yet.
Are there any app's that can really do this? Maybe this would need a root app?

Aug 27, 2012I would like to know which method you need to use to access the unlock screen and replace it (something like SlideUnlock or Widget Locker). I want to design an app which could work on any phone even those without a custom ROM. This app would then be overriding the default Lock Screen.
You probably need to create a service but I can't seem to find a source code or a good tutorial on it.

Jun 23, 2010I helped a buddy of mine install 2.1 on his Hero. He's got a few issues i was hoping you could help with.
1. Weather will not update AT ALL! anytime you press where the weather widget it, it automatically takes you to the clock settings.
2. End button only ends calls. It doesnt lock the phone. he has to wait for the screen to time out since it does nothing.

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

Nov 10, 2010I have an Android service that's responsible for firing notifications at certain points in time. I use an android.OS.CountdownTimer for this. An activity creates and starts the service. If the phone is locked, notifications that are within let's say 1min are shown. Notifications that are much later are never shown. The service is unbound from the activity when the activity is onpause.
As long as the phone doesn't lock the notifications are generated, even if the activity is stopped and unbound from the service.
It seems to me that the service is stopped/killed. When I make the application debuggable and debug it on target, it works fine, also when the activity is stopped and the service is unbound.
The app is developed for v1.5 and runs at Galaxy S with 2.2.
