So one of the features I really liked about my iPhone, and my windows phone devices was that I could simply go into my gallery app, and view my Fb albums right from the device. I recently got on with t-mobile, and purchased a Samsung Galaxy SII which I love in most respects..
BUT
The gallery only displays the photos I take, but I want all my fb albums displayed too... how do I accomplish this? Is there an app I can download, settings I can change, voodoo rituals I need to perform??....
I just setup Bittorrent Sync on my Motorola Razr M and Nexus 10 so that all photos taken on my phone can be viewed on both devices. The sync has worked as far as I can tell (if I go into BT sync on the tablet i can view all the files downloaded to the device and view them by clicking on them individually). The only problem is that if I go into my Gallery on my tablet it has not automatically detected the photos, even though when I click on them via BT Sync the are displayed using the gallery app.
How I can make my Gallery automatically show them in my albums? It seems to show other random photos (ie. album covers from music folders I have transferred over) but no the ones I want. I was under the impression that the Gallery app did automatically index all the photo files on the device.
Is there anyway to get Flickr synced up with your gallery rather then Picasa?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set the selection of a Gallery in code. I would like to have the Gallery smoothly roll down a few items over the duration of a second or two. At frist glance, it appears that two members would to the trick:Gallery.setAnimationDuration(int animationDurationMillis); Gallery.setSelection(int position, boolean animate); It turns out that the setAnimationDuration only seems to affect the rubber-bandy "return-to-center" effect of the Gallery. In other words, when a gallery comes to rest after a fling, and a gallery item is off center, the animationDurationMillis is used to control the duration of the Gallery centering up the item. However, the value seems to have no effect on the setSelection. No matter what value is set with setAnimationDuration, the Gallery seems to render about 2 or 3 frames when flying between items 1 and 10 for example. Is this working as designed? Does anyone know a trick or workaround that would let me properly animate setSelection? I'd be especially grateful if we could do it with an "Ease Out" effect.

1. I added a google account. Without asking it synced everything.
2. I turned off all sync except gmail.
3. But when I add a new contact it still warns me that it will sync it with my google account!
4. I tapped ok. Now by default the google account is on the top of the screen where I add contacts - obviously it syncs it.
Also, when I now go to settings > account > google account I can't seem to turn on/off settings. Eg if I touch an item that is turned on it starts to sync it instead of switching it on.
Obviously I could remove the google account altogether but I would prefer to keep it just for gmail sync. How to do this?

i have somehow managed to remove the 'gallery' from my samsung gs3. I've had a look on the app store but i cannot find it and not sure how to re-install it.
I use the camera a lot, and the gallery button when running the camera, doesnt do anything when pressed which I assume is because the gallery app is missing?
Basically I downloaded the app ES File Explorer and I cut everything on the internal storage and pasted it in to my SD card. Everything worked perfectly except now I can't view any of my photos in the gallery, it seems as if they all just disappeared! I noticed something during the switch over from the internal to the SD card that a message about DCIM came up. Now apparently that has to do with photos and I just skipped it. I went into my SD card folder after and it only shows the pictures that have been screenshot and those that have been posted on Instagram. None of my pictures that have actually been taken with my camera are in my sd card folder neither in my internal storage.
Does this mean they have been deleted because I pressed skip during the transfer?
The phone I am using is the Motorola Razr I XT890.
I'm on a Galaxy S4. I'm running Nova Launcher as well. I've noticed since I got this phone a few weeks ago that I can set icon images from icon packs, but if the icon pack is downloaded as image files I can't.
long press app I want to change icon for > click edit > click the icon image > select Gallery (or Astro file mgr) > select the image I want > takes me to an edit screen where I can crop etc, I click 'okay' > it says 'preparing image' and goes away, leaving me back at the edit icon screen where the icon image is still the same as before.
Could it be because my icon images are stored on the SD card? If so, where do you guys normally store icon packs that are download as regular images?

Rant: The Gmail app on the phone won't even save a photo to the Gallery! I just switched from iOS and this seems like a huge flaw in the OS and app integration, like with Google Voice and using Facebook Connect to log into apps. This is a huge reason why iOS gets so many more app downloads IMO. Registration sucks. Facebook Connect fixes it. Integrate it into the OS and it becomes a fly-through experience. I still have about 5x more apps installed on my iPhone than on my Nexus, partly because of this.
I'm fairly new to the Smart Phone. When I go into my picture gallery, is there a way to sort pics? By this I mean make a folder for say, car pics, another for friend pics...etc.. and put the pics into the specific folders, without having to hook it up to my computer with the USB? I find it pretty annoying that my pics are all just scattered throughout one area. I'd prefer to have them organized. Any settings or apps I can get to accomplish this.

Let's say you have some media on your device that you don't want prying eyes to stumble across in your Gallery. As it is right now Android does a stellar job finding your media and adding it to your gallery. I found this video showing how to hide a folder by renaming the folder using Astro and adding a "." to the beginning of the folder name.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have pictures in the gallery that I think was pulled from an old blog I had on blogger. The problem is that I cannot delete these pictures. I have checked all file folders under my files. I have tried the long press method and put check marks on the pictures but the delete option disappears and all I am left with is share and about. I also connected my phone to my PC and checked all files there but these pictures seem to only show in the gallery. Seems if they are in the gallery then they have to be in a file somewhere? Sincing is turned off and the blog was deleted months ago.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTouchwiz gallery seems to pull pictures posted in Google+ into separate folders labeled by date posted as opposed to one folder labeled "Photos from Posts" like Picasa or stock ICS/JB does.
Attached is a picture of the folders I am talking about. It's the ones I wish to remove/hide.
Is there any way to have it do the same as stock and place them in one folder as well?
If not, is there any way to simply hide them while keeping the rest of the folders from picasa visible?

Every image and video in the stock Android ICS Gallery app is displayed twice, how can I fix this?
This only happened a couple of days ago. I know the items themselves are not duplicated because I've checked with QuickPic, Root Explorer and Windows Explorer.
I have a Nexus S running a rooted build of stock 4.0.4. I've tried clearing cache and data of the gallery app to no avail.
SOLUTION: Go to Settings > Apps > All. Find Media Storage and then Clear Data. Reboot the phone (I had to do it twice) and it will clear your thumbnails, recreate them and put everything back to normal.
Recently I have found when I open the Auto Back up file in the Gallery app, it loads all the thumbnails up to a point and then nothing. The screen shot below shows where the loading stops:

I'm currently facing a big problem causing me inconveniences.I've just update the samsung galaxy s3 software yesterday, then when I try to upload photos, I couldn't open anything, any photos, sometimes the albums will disappear itself,sometimes come back again.
I tried to remove my memory card or sd card and put it back again but useless.

I've recently bought a Nexus 7, and am loving my first taste of android having been heavily into iOS devices previously. I want to change the thumbnail picture displayed in the gallery app (I'd call that the 'key photo' from using apple products in the past). It seems to default to the first images in a particular album, I've tried various taps and swipes and looking in the app and album settings but can't find anything.
