I have recently updated my HTC One to 4.2.2 but since doing this my gallery doesn't open up on the tiles page now, it just goes straight to the albums page, so no highlights etc. Is it an option that got reset?

When I got my S4 I transferred pictures from my computer to the phone under pictures so that I can use them as my wallpaper. The album showed up in the gallery and all was well, but whenever I transfer new pictures into said folder, the pictures are not updated in the phone gallery. I deleted the album in my gallery and the pictures off my phone in hopes that all of the new pictures will show up if I transfer the pictures again from my computer to my phone. Now the album isn't even shown in the gallery. I've selected the option to show all content on the device but the album is still not showing.

I received the update notification last Sun. I did exactly what it said and have been having problems w/ my poor phone ever since. Biggest problem is that my phone DOES NOT ring when someone calls. Recently customers have been reporting a crash; all customers have been running Android 2.1 or 2.2 (note sure if the crash is limited to those platforms tho; interesting that this does work on the simulator but not physical devices. Maybe devices renamed the component name of the image gallery?). The crash occurs when I attempt to lauch the Image Gallery app.
Is there a preferred method to launching the Image Gallery?

Since I updated to Froyo when the official one was released for the UK my Gallery has been almost useless, it now sorts photos based on where they were taken which I don't want and it doesn't show any new photos/videos I take, possibly because the phone saves them to the external SD card now instead of the internal one. Is there anyway to fix this? I've looked everywhere for some gallery settings but I can't find anything, to change the sorting etc.. Or can anyone recommend a half decent gallery app? I just want something that shows the recent photos I've taken...

Verizon told me that some of my issues would be solved if my phone were pre-loaded with 2.2 instead of having a phone that was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2. So they sent me a new phone and told me that it would be pre-loaded with 2.2. When the phone arrived, it had 2.1 on it.
Do I keep the new phone and use it with 2.1? Do I keep the new phone and ugrade it to 2.2 to see if it's better than my old phone. Do I keep my old phone?
If you could do it all over again, would you upgrade to 2.2?
If you are interested, my problem 2 biggest problems are:
1) My phone doesn't seem to hold a 3g signal. It regularly drops from 3g to 1x and back to 3g. The phone goes 4 bars to 1 bar and back again.
2) My phone consantly missings emails. You can see the emails in my inbox if I go through a brower, but the email app doesn't show them no matter how many times I refresh.
Just installed the 2.1 update on my htc hero and have found that the quick office app doesn't seem to open ms word documents properly, anybody else notice this. Also what Is the best office application out there for android.

My phone itself is running slow lately period. Launcherpro is maggy, widget locker acts up, swype doesn't always give me the red search dot, and other fun problems.
I am rooted with 2.2. No themes.
While in the Phone/Contacts app, I LOVE the search button to open the contacts search box. However, when I press the button, it doesn't automatically open the soft keyboard and I have to first press in the input box. Is there any way to make it automatically open the soft keyboard? It's not a major issue, but it's a slight nuisance. I'm running a rooted Droid with Froyo (FRG01B, manually updated).
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my UK Milestone (rooted), long press on the search button only works when the hardware keyboard is shut, when the keyboard is open, long press works the same as a short press.
While looking for a fix for this, I found very little information on the net, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with only selected devices. Can anyone confirm for me if theirs works or not?
I have OpenSearch assigned to long press search, and since I always use the hardware keyboard, I need to close it, long press search, then open the keyboard. It's annoying.
I've looked at editing the qwerty.kl file in /system/user/keylayout, my idea was to try to redefine to search key on the keyboard (between left alt and @) to launch OpenSearch, but it apears that I can only redefine keys to other keys that way, not launch apps.
My charging cable doesn't seem to plug all the way in when pressed. The phone charges fine, but I am wondering if that is the normal fit or not. It is almost like the sliding door doesn't open wide enough.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set the selection of a Gallery in code. I would like to have the Gallery smoothly roll down a few items over the duration of a second or two. At frist glance, it appears that two members would to the trick:Gallery.setAnimationDuration(int animationDurationMillis); Gallery.setSelection(int position, boolean animate); It turns out that the setAnimationDuration only seems to affect the rubber-bandy "return-to-center" effect of the Gallery. In other words, when a gallery comes to rest after a fling, and a gallery item is off center, the animationDurationMillis is used to control the duration of the Gallery centering up the item. However, the value seems to have no effect on the setSelection. No matter what value is set with setAnimationDuration, the Gallery seems to render about 2 or 3 frames when flying between items 1 and 10 for example. Is this working as designed? Does anyone know a trick or workaround that would let me properly animate setSelection? I'd be especially grateful if we could do it with an "Ease Out" effect.

I wrote a database helper class that gives me back results for common queries I make for my app, and it uses an SQLiteOpenHelper implementation I wrote to open the database. I use the open helper to open the database and get a cursor to pass to my CursorAdapter.

The problem I'm having, that I didn't have before I implemented the open helper (before I just opened the database directly without a helper), is when I click on an item, which takes me to another activity, and then go back to this activity. When it initializes everything is fine, and my list is populated fine, but when I go back from the activity that follows, the list is empty and in the LogCat I see "Invalid statement in fillWindow()".
It appears from a few post I've seen that the reason is, when I requery the cursor, the database is closed. But I'm not closing it! I'm scratching my head on this one.
I have two gallery widgets in same screen. If user flings on top gallery widget I would like to replicate the same fling motion on the other gallery widget thats beneath the first one. Is there a way I can possibly achieve this.
