HTC Incredible :: Replace Photo Gallery?
Oct 25, 2010Is there a free app in the Android Market that will organize my photos? Seems like every time I take a photo or save it from a message, It goes into the gallery at the end of a Long line of pictures that I previously stored and I have to scroll all the way to the end to view it. Am I doing something wrong?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Folder Titled 240x400 In Gallery
Oct 6, 2010I just noticed today when I opened my gallery that there is a folder titled "240x400." It has fifty random images that look like backgrounds for something. This folder has never been there before today and the only app I've added recently is Autokiller. Where the heck did this thing come from? Running CM6 if that helps.

Feb 6, 2009I'm trying to set the selection of a Gallery in code. I would like to have the Gallery smoothly roll down a few items over the duration of a second or two. At frist glance, it appears that two members would to the trick:Gallery.setAnimationDuration(int animationDurationMillis); Gallery.setSelection(int position, boolean animate); It turns out that the setAnimationDuration only seems to affect the rubber-bandy "return-to-center" effect of the Gallery. In other words, when a gallery comes to rest after a fling, and a gallery item is off center, the animationDurationMillis is used to control the duration of the Gallery centering up the item. However, the value seems to have no effect on the setSelection. No matter what value is set with setAnimationDuration, the Gallery seems to render about 2 or 3 frames when flying between items 1 and 10 for example. Is this working as designed? Does anyone know a trick or workaround that would let me properly animate setSelection? I'd be especially grateful if we could do it with an "Ease Out" effect.

I have a T-Mobile G2 (HTC Hero) on 1.5 at the moment and the Albums app is such a frustration. I really can't see why the developers didn't figure out a way of navigating a tree structure?
Currently I have a lot of photos and they are stored on the SD card under a directory for year (eg 2007) then a directory for month (eg 03_march) then a directory for the event/place. It's how I store them on the desktop. Of course, the Albums app simply shows me every single directory with photos in, so I lose the ability to navigate by year/month/etc.
I know that Astro file explorer can do what I want, but the image viewer it has is limited and simply not as nice as the Album app, and the thumbnails are too small. Am I alone in NOT wanting to see hundred and hundreds of "albums" but rather see my photos stored how *I* want them stored?

Jul 10, 2010I am wondering if there is a pics app that will cover all my needs on my Desire. Currently running both the Nexus1 Gallery and the default HTC Photos. Both have good and bad points.
HTC Photos
Good:
-Only shows my pics, not the album art and ebook art stored elsewhere on SD
-Has a simple Facebook pics option
-Uploads direct to Picasa/FB,etc
Bad:
-No Picasa albums viewable (most of my pics are on Picasa)
-Cant multi tag pics (needed for doing bulk uploads/shares)
Nexus1 Gallery
Good:
-Beautiful interface!
-Shows Picasa galleries automatically
-Has multi-tag
-Uploads direct to Picasa/FB,etc
Bad:
-Shows EVERYTHING on my sd card, and has no option to remove pics/directories
-No basic editing options (crop,rotate,etc as the HTC app has)
-No Facebook albums display

Jul 7, 2010I am using a Gallery based Coverflow, as suggested here.Is there an event that can be caught, which indicates that a single shift (either left or right) has been made in my gallery/cover flow? To be clear, if I gave the gallery a decent swipe and my center (selected) image has changed 8 times, I would like to catch this event 8 times. OnFling() just indicates a single swipe - regardless how many items have shifted.Getting getSelectedItemPosition() before and after the swipe doesn't help since I need to do some work on every shift.It will also be nice while I am at it, to get the direction of the shift - either right or left.

Jan 10, 2010I have a Gallery with a set of images that was downloaded at run time.I followed the example here:http://www.anddev.org/a_androidwidgetgallery_-_example-t332.html but instead of using i.setImageResource(this.myImageIds[position]);I used i.setImageBitmap(bitmaps.get(position));This doesn't fill the entire width of the screen, only as much as the width specified here:i.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(150, 150)); When I increase this number, the item scales with it instead of showing more images per the example. I've even tried to scale the images before adding them to the set. Not sure what I'm missing, or where other examples of this might be. Any help would be great.
