General :: Change Key Picture In Gallery Album?

I've recently bought a Nexus 7, and am loving my first taste of android having been heavily into iOS devices previously. I want to change the thumbnail picture displayed in the gallery app (I'd call that the 'key photo' from using apple products in the past). It seems to default to the first images in a particular album, I've tried various taps and swipes and looking in the app and album settings but can't find anything.

I want to be able to prevent all of my album art from being displayed in my gallery, and only to show the images/folders that I've actually placed in my gallery.
When i open my gallery, I see all the images & folders that I've put there,but I also see ALL of the folders with ALL of the album art..and this can be difficult.
Is there any way to prevent this? I want the album art to display in my music player-(when that album is playing).But I don't want to have to scroll through every frickin folder of all album arts every time I open my gallery to find pics/images.
Get's to be too much when you have over 20GB's of music and pretty much all of them have album art folders. Is this do-able?

I believe I have tried everything now to get rid of all my picasa pictures in the gallery on my tablet included reading the forum and the rest of internet and now my brain is soon exploding.I have a Iconia tablet with Taboonay 2.2 custom rom.What have I done:
-I have stopped automatic sync option in account/sync to my gmail account, there is now way to tick off gmail,contacts,calendar and picasa.Only option is to stop auto sync with the gmail account itself.
-in settings/app menu I have closed down gallery app and clear data
-with astro I have deleted cache in ..android/data/com.android.gallery3d and android/data/com.google.android.gallery3d
-then I have wiped dalvik in recovery
but the pictures comes back like magic in front of my eyes every time I have tried.

I'm fairly new to the Smart Phone. When I go into my picture gallery, is there a way to sort pics? By this I mean make a folder for say, car pics, another for friend pics...etc.. and put the pics into the specific folders, without having to hook it up to my computer with the USB? I find it pretty annoying that my pics are all just scattered throughout one area. I'd prefer to have them organized. Any settings or apps I can get to accomplish this.

I am trying to upload a picture to the "Picture of the Week." I have tried with Taptalk and with the Android Central App. Both of them give me a security error and tell me to contact and admin if problem persists. I am trying to upload a picture from my phone gallery. Does it have to be a picture taken at that time with the camera? Or do I have a setting wrong?

I got an email with a photo attached. I saved the photo to the sd card and when viewing the pictures in the gallery the photo is clearly uncropped. When opening the picture a cropped version appears. Opening the file on my desktop computer shows only the cropped version.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II Plus and I recently updated the Dropbox app. After updating, the Gallery app is showing all the pictures I have in my Dropbox, this did not happen before the update. I had a clean Gallery with only the pictures in my phone. I checked the accounts in the settings, but I don't see anything in the Dropbox account settings.
I do not want to see these pictures in my phone. How can I stop this sync?

i don't know if this is normal of not - when i use google play (downloaded from play store) and the album cover pic doesn't change. if it switch between artists (different "folder") it will change, but if i have 1 artist with like multiple albums it won't change album picture. and yes i'm sure the song has an album art attached refer to sig for my phone specs

After the 2.1 OTA a lot of random photos were thrown in my photo album under separate files, I think one is named something like keyboard...and another one called icons maybe. They are just screen shots of the swype keyboard. I tried to delete them after I dl'd the Nexus Gallery (which is awesome btw thank you Androzoid) but they just came back. Has anyone else had this happen? I haven't tried to delete them yet straight from the SD card to see if that works. Is it okay to delete these or do they serve some purpose?

I was watching netflix on my xbox360 last night while playing on my phone. When i was in the stock gallery app i noticed a button called "change player" when i hit it.. all of a sudden netflix stopped and my picture was displayed on the screen of my tv.. I assume it is some sort of DLNA stuff. But how can it do this when i have DLNA sharing off in settings? I want to know how to disable this feature..and/or what its using to broadcast.

I just deleted the gallery application that comes with the phone (i dont know what i did it... ), and now i cant change the lock screen background.
When i try to do it from the configuration panel, it says "La application configuracion (proceso com.android.settings) se ha deterino inesperadamente"
