I've been looking for an app that will auto-sync my photo gallery to an online source like flickr or picasa. I know the photobucket app will do it, but i'm not a fan of photobucket in general. Does anyone know of one that can do the other sites?

I'm trying to limit my mobile data usage with out jumping through hoops.
I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.
This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.
Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?

I've got a Samsung Galaxy III and have problems trying to view images in my gallery using the auto-rotate screen option and rather then having to manuallly press the rotate screen "icon" which does gets annoying. I just want to tilt my phone so the images can automatically change to portrait or landscape on its own depending what angle the phone tilts. I've ensure the auto-rotate screen is checked from Settings under Display and even tried unchecking it and checking it again as well as switching my phone on/off.
NOTE: That the auto-rotate screen option does work fine for me with everything else like watching videos, texting, internet browsing, music and even viewing the overall images in the gallery but when going in and viewing the pictures individually from either the Gallery or the Camera. All I've got is a rotate screen "icon" to press on manually each time I'd like the picture to be portrait and if I want landscape I have to press on the screen rotate icon again. I noticed the auto-rotate screen option doesn't work on my Home Screen and Lock Screen as well but that isn't the main issue.
I've been reading around and tried pulling out my battery on "Odin" mode, wait 30sec-1min then turn my phone on again and that didn't work. I've also did the same procedure and ensure I unchecked the auto-rotate screen option and checked it again after I turned on the phone. I tried the Gyroscope Caliberation option and calibrated it and that didn't work either. My sister has the same phone as me with the same version installed but she doesn't have this problem and I'm wondering if it's something to do with how my phone software's set up?
I have a Fascinate that automatically populated my Gallery with the zillions of photo albums I've uploaded to Picasa. My boyfriend has a Droid X and I put my Picasa email/password in his Accounts thinking it'd just effortlessly autopopulate his gallery with my pictures too, but it didn't. I looked around on the internet and saw that you could download the older Gallery (the one that's like the one on my Fascinate), so I did, but again, there's no setting that I see to show my Picasa albums on there, there's no auto-populating, nothing.
Any ideas how I can make this happen without having to go into a separate application or on the web to see these? I looked it up on another site and it said settings can be found at "settings > accounts & sync" but the Droid only has Accounts listed, no Sync.
How do I delete the pictures that are marked auto backup in gallery and photo ?

Quick question though: I do not have a data plan therefore my emails are not constantly syncing and such. I was wondering if there is an application that would make my wifi turn on at a set time and for a set length of time in order to fetch and sync and then turn off. This would be very useful especially in the morning right before I wake up so that when I first pick up my G1 in the morning the new emails have been synced.

I also have ATT email (my home DSL accounts) and I am able to use the Android email program effortlessly there - I can set to auto check 15, 30, hourly etc with no problem. Is there an option to do the same with Gmail? All I can find is to auto sync Contacts, Gmail and calendar. Since one time google ate my calendar and contacts, I'm a little hesitant to ever sync them again.

I have a Motorola Milestone running Android 2.1.Is there a widget which turns "background data" ("Settings -> account & sync -> background data") on/off? I know there are several widgets which turn auto sync on off (e.g. the power control widget) and disable data connections altogether (apndroid, quick settings, etc), but that's not what I need. I searched the market, google and this forum but couldn't find anything.The only workaround I found was to create a shortcut to "account & sync" using "any cut". Not a widget, but close enough.Is there a widget, or a better way to do this?

I figured out how to enable/disable GPRS/EDGE by changing the APN settings. (weird solution. However; Android developers couldn't think a user may want to disable GPRS/EDGE) But, I couldn't find a way to enable/disable Auto Sync and Background data.
I investigated the Android code and as I understood, the Sync operation is an intend. So, I wanted to reach with putExtra to the intend and trigger the enabling/disabling. But; I couldn't find the correct keyword.
Does this program to auto sync with exchange and gmail, and if yes, how do i set it yes (its not on the list of folder poll check frequnncy)

View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing the FaceBook (FB) app on the EVO 4G is a great feature. Allows you to get numbers of your friends on FB without being in your contact list. Has their FB picture show up when they call etc.
Problem:
Cannot save numbers in my contacts if sync'd with FB.
Example: Friend gives me her number (that I currently do NOT have in my contacts)
I dial her number, it comes up with her name and her FB picture (because she has her mobile number linked to her FB account).
Now I cannot save this number to my contacts from call history because it shows up as if it is already there. I can dial her number again then hit add contact and that works just curious if there is a way to do it from text's or call history so I don't have to keep re-typing the number just to save it.
I have HTC Sync on my PC and suddenly its not auto-syncing when I connect my phone.Opening it up on my PC and it just says Disconnected, similiarly through the Hero.Can't think its anything to do with anti-virus etc. as I synced a week ago with my works PC (Outlook calendar).

I recently got on with t-mobile, and purchased a Samsung Galaxy SII which I love in most respects..
BUT
The gallery only displays the photos I take, but I want all my fb albums displayed too... how do I accomplish this? Is there an app I can download, settings I can change, voodoo rituals I need to perform??....
I just setup Bittorrent Sync on my Motorola Razr M and Nexus 10 so that all photos taken on my phone can be viewed on both devices. The sync has worked as far as I can tell (if I go into BT sync on the tablet i can view all the files downloaded to the device and view them by clicking on them individually). The only problem is that if I go into my Gallery on my tablet it has not automatically detected the photos, even though when I click on them via BT Sync the are displayed using the gallery app.
How I can make my Gallery automatically show them in my albums? It seems to show other random photos (ie. album covers from music folders I have transferred over) but no the ones I want. I was under the impression that the Gallery app did automatically index all the photo files on the device.
if i turn them both off will my email update every hour like i have it set? Or do i have to turn on one of them? I also noticed that in order to go to the market place i have to have background data on, why is this even though i can go onto the internet with both of the settings off?

The gmail and google calendar auto sync fine, but whenever I add a contact I always have to do a manual sync on the phone to get the contact from my pc to phone or vice versa. It worked fine for a while but at some point just decided to stop.

I'm looking to copy selected albums to my phone but during the sync process I'd like them to be re-encoded to a lower bit rate so I can fit more on the phone. I'd like this done during the sync so I don't have to keep a second, lower bitrate copy of everything.WMP12 claims to be able to do this but, not surprisingly for a piece of Microsoft software, it doesn't actually work so I'm looking for something else that can do it. Is there anything else out there?Also, nearly all media managing software constantly just refers to syncing "playlists". I don't ever use playlists as I tend to listen to whole albums in order so I select artist then album, no need for a "playlist". Can I use these things to copy across whole albums without the need to create a playlist of that album and use that to sync?

I've searched through this forum but can't seem to find anyone else reporting this.I've had a G2 for approx 3 weeks now, however, the thing just won't sync Gmail as it should - either via Auto-sync or by manually trying. I've had a G1 for the last 12 months so feel experienced enough to know when something's not quite right. I am using the G2 in exactly the same locations as the G1 so it cannot be a reception issue. I've tried sending test emails from my work email address to my Gmail account: Out of the 10 test emails sent over the space of 8 hours, only 2 came through (the G2 was on Auto-Sync the whole time). The others eventually came through via a combination of manually instigating Sync (1 success) or, in most cases, having to switch the phone off and on - even this only worked twice. Whenever I sent emails from work to G1 they would appear on the phone instantly. There isn't a prob with the emails leaving my work domain as I can see that they have all been delivered successfully viewing my Gmail account over the web. If I leave the phone on the Data Synchronization screen, the round sync indicator is constantly running next to "Google Mail" and intermittantly pauses with the error message that "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shorlty". have also found that the reception doesn't appear to be as good as the G1 - I work in central London and live 10 miles south of the river.I'm running FW 1.5 Kernal 2.6.27-a5504199 Software 1.0.0.A6288
