For some reason I can not get my google account to receive numbers from my droids phonebook. If I add a number on my google email and sync my phone the number is there immediately, but if the number is added on my phone google does not get it in gmail. What can I do to fix this?

Is it possible to sync directly between Mac iCal and Address Book to Android (Motorola Droid) without using intervention from Google sync? (and keeping the information from syncing to Google). I don't want my contacts and calender lying around in Googles cloud.
View 23 Replies View RelatedNormally when I put a new contact into Address Book on my Mac (Leopard) all I have to do is hit the sync button in the top menu and it's off to Google to be downloaded to my Desire.But! this does not appear to be working at the mo'. The upload from Mac to Google that is.Anyone know if it's a problem with Google at the mo' or something else.

But one question and concern I have with that is when a froyo rom comes it will remove sense? Meaning stuff like face book contacts syncing will no longer work? Did I get that right?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have phone pulling down all my Google contacts that generally consist of name smile and number.The incredible also links these contacts with my Facebook and so adds info to these contacts such as additional numbers,birthdays etc etc.What I want is this additional contact info now on my phone to uploaded to Google.For example I have a Google calendar with peoples birthdays on it and I would like it to have all my contacts birthdays from favebook.I would have imagined this should happen automatically but alas it is not so.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThis is for people who use GPS a lot. Before I would create groups just for my texting, but Navigation works great too. Took a wine trip to Santa Barbara. Had a few places (hotel, boat cruise, wineries, Santa Barbara Mission, some restaurants, that taco stand Julia Child made famous, etc.), and just created a contact for each. No inputting on phone or using voice, it's already done.Had concert @ Hollywood Bowl. They have shuttle service at some offsite locations like the LA Zoo or in Studio City. I just create a group called Concerts, and copy and paste address from website.Meeting friend at bar never been to? Already have a Group called Bars. Just copy and paste address, and your done.I have groups for everything. Family, San Francisco, San Diego friends, Hotels, Bars, sporting venues, whatever. I cross link whenever I can, Just hit People and slide over to Groups. The whole goal for me is just to hit buttons, and not have to input anything when I'm on run. Use it like AppBrain. So much easier to manage everything from Google contacts page. Just copy and paste eveything.Best part is, can delete or add anytime.Also saves me battery since doing stuff on computer, and everything is synced automatically.

How can i just set it to google contacts when using "Phone"? BTW - this whole multiple contact lists thing does not seem to be the best sorted out arrangement (Phone, SIM, Google). Can anyone confirm the the SIM list can't handle email addresses?

I am using the stock HTC calendar widget for my calendar, but I can't get any calendar entries dated before April 1,2010 to sync with my phone anymore ~ they were there when I first got my phone, but now they are gone. My google calendar goes back over 2 years when I view it on my computer so I know all the information is still there, I just can't get it to show up on my phone. Any idea what has happened? Oh, and if anyone can suggest a better calendar application? than the HTC one, that will still sync with my Google calendar, I'm willing to try that and just forget about the HTC one.

I opened a new gmail account for her, then activated her phone on my number. I tried to sync her Eris with google, with the idea that she could sync with her Incredible. When I update a calendar item online using Google Calendar, it syncs to the Jorte calendar on my phone
When I update a calendar item on the phone using Jorte, it does NOT sync to my Google calendar online (I've even tried the export function)
My tasks won't sync at all between the two in either direction.

If you have multiple phone numbers entered for a contact, all of them appear as as option for sending a text message. I would like to remove the "send message" entry for all non-mobile numbers. I see that there is a default phone number option for each contact. Is the same option to pick a default number for messaging? If so, that would help the mobile number for sms stand out in the list. I have sent a few texts to home or work phone numbers accidentally and I am trying to idiot proof my contact lists.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to froyo, I have 3 problems that did not exist before.
1. Laggy keyboard. I do not type crazy fast, but a lot of times I will be hitting letters, and nothing appears on the screen for a second or two.
2. Calendar not syncing with google. I have different calendars set up in my google calendar (bills, birthdays, etc). I have about 5 calendars with different settings, and only a few sync. I went into settings on the phone, and all are checked to sync.
3. Text message alerts. Notification by icon in notification bar and sound is sporadic, and a lot of times I have new messages with no indication.
I am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.

I use google maps quite a bit on my iphone and over the past couple years I have accumulated a lot of bookmarked locations that I have saved on my phone. My question is, is there a way to sync all the locations I have saved on my iphone to my new phone? Or am I going to have to add all the bookmarked locations manually?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android, having moved from Nokia this last week. I've added my email accounts - Gmail & Exchange, but now I've got 3 calendars. I know they all display on my mobile, and I get alerts for them all, but I'd ideally like my phone to sync all the calendars with eachother. So when I look on Outlook, I see my phone and Google calendar, and when I look on Gmail, I see my Outlook and Phone calendars etc. This would seem to be a fairly simple thing to do - just to 'link' the calendars in a similar way to linking the phone/Google/Facebook contacts. Any way to do this without involving any PC apps etc.?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBeing new to Android with the Captivate, I didn't really understand how the syncing with outlook would work. This is what works for me.
1. I keep all my contacts, calendar, and appts. on Outlook on my home PC, so I downloaded the Google Calendar Sync that runs in my system tray.
2. I logged into the Google account and clicked on having Outlook being the main and moving info to Google. I then set the minutes to 10 between syncing.
3. The app will then upload calendar, contacts, and tasks to Google (I only had Yahoo before).
4. My phone settings has Google set to automatically update, after a few more minutes, you will see all the uploaded information sync to your phone.
5. If I am not home, and I now have my Google Calendar Sync set to 120 minutes and that both website and Outlook are combined. I can then enter something on my phone, new contact, or whatever and when I get home it is sitting in my outlook.
Its not reinventing the wheel by any means. But I really struggled on the learning curve so if this helps someone knew great.
I cannot remember where you can change the setting so your phone will not sync with your entire gmail contact list.

I do have internet connectivity either on 3G or wifi. I can browse, use weather, Ross and news etc. just when I go in menu-settings-sync and press sync ... nothing happens

I have use my google music all the time but it does not sync or update on my phone. i tried manually going into accounts and settings and gone under my google account but there is no sync music option. plus i have gone into the gmusics app and tried hitting refresh but still no good... View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched but I wanted to ask specific to DX to make sure I wasn't missing something simple. Google Contact Groups don't appear in my contacts on the DX regardless of sync. One of the group names I created did transfer over and Organization name.
I cannot sort the contracts by group on my phone. I either have all or none. Did I do something wrong (most likely yes, this was much easier in the BB world)? Am I missing a step, this appears to be a problem on all Android OS. So do I need an app to fix this?
