For some reason, whenever I send out an email to someone that's not in my contact list, it appears as a new contact under the people app, with the email address listed. I don't want it to automatically add these emails to my contacts. Is there a way I can stop this, besides un-syncing my Gmail account?

My phone has been trying to send an email from gmail for 2 days. it keeps saying unable to send and I don't know how to stop it. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.

But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Petes Bugless rom and It was a little too buggy for me so I went back to my nandroid backup. Everything is fine except for my Gmail will not send an email. It will receive just fine but will not send. It just says sending... I have tried to send myself emails to my other accounts and receive nothing. I can send email with my .Mac email on my Droid though. I tried to delete my account and re-install and it won't let me because its my main one. It says I have to wipe my data first and I really don't want to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past 2-3 days I haven't gotten any notifications from my phone saying I have new emails.So I signed into gmail from my computer and I did have a couple messages.I went into "My Accounts" and clicked sync now and they started to come in.I don't know what happened or what I did, but is there any way I can get it to sync by itself like it did before without my having to go to "my accounts" and click on sync now.Now for the sending problem.My sister sent me an email, and I was trying to send a reply back from my droidx and all it does is get stuck on "Send." and it never sends out.I tried to reply to another person and the same thing happened.I don't know what to do.I just got all my customizations the way I like so I will try anything before a factory reset.

I have a lot and I don't feel like entering them one by one again... I think there's a way to do it with Gmail but I haven't figured it out. Any programs or ways to do it?

I'm using GMail by default on my phone because it allows me to have my mail pushed to me. Receiving works great, but when I tell the phone to send an email such as a picture from the internet while in the browser, it makes me choose between Exchange or a POP account. How can I get it so it uses gmail instead? I tried adding my GMail account as a POP 3 and sending the emails, but I'm not receiving any of them.
BTW, after conditioning my battery for 3 days, I'm currently at 6 hours of awake time and 24 hours of up time, and the sucker still won't die, lol.
I currently have 2 email accts on my laptop. I have 1 gmail for personal (this is my gmail acct that's linked to my calendar, maps etc. this is the one that would be integrated with the phone), and 1 gmail for work emails (I only use this for the emails, no calendar, no sync etc). I would like to + accts on my Eris. Can I do this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.1v2 from 1.5 I cant find where you control which groups gets synced. When I go to People->Groups->Menu the option for 'Sync Groups' is missing. I have so many contacts in GMail, id prefer to only sync certain groups.

In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. I can't send any emails at all, they just sit in the outbox saying "sending". If I long press on any of them, I get an error:

I can recieve emails with no problems. I've cleared the cache and data for Gmail, I've rebooted the phone countless times, restarted the gmail process etc etc
just noticed that when i read my gmail from the phone, it doesn't mark it off as read when i check on the computer. also when i try to reply or send an email, it is just stuck there with a red "sending". anyone have any idea what is going on?

Long time Hotmail user. Live Mail works great on Windows mobile of course. I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?
