Aug 13, 2010I wanted to know if Android 2.2 (Froyo) supports Bluetooth V3 .

View 1 RepliesAs we know, bluetooth-related APIs was not included until version 2.0. And the current condition is Droid is the only 2.0-supported choice. I've known there are many kinds of unofficial 2.0 build, but are they stable enought to program? Does anybody has the experiences of programming bluetooth on a non-Droid handset? What is it, and what is the version of your OS? Did you hear of whether G1/magic/hero/tattoo is going to support eclair officially or not?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a number of apps, and so far I have supported all versions from level 3, android 1.5.
For my latest app, I'm considering supporting only from 1.6, or possibly 2.1, upwards.
What's the trend thesedays? Is it becoming usual, or acceptable, to adopt this strategy?
I developed application in android 1.5 and i make it for support screens in large and medium and small through coding if i release android 1.5 on market it will appear in all android version phone market (android 1.5 +) .am i get application in droid, small device market and it is work fine or not.

I find my application running properly and if I find to run it on Motorola droid with locale Korean, I find even my application(apk) cannot be installed on the device. Do android support different language? Is it because of different language OS version?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAccroding to GregS's "Announcing OpenCORE 2.0 release" mention, video telephony (a.k.a. 2way) engine is supported by OpenCORE 2.0. but he(?) was not sure that is included at Cupcake version.
So, can I get information about any progress for supporting video telephony service? like, whether video telehpony service is supported at Cupcake or any other version.
And where can I get any document about OpenCORE 2.XXX release?
Some of my application's users are on android 1.5, some on 1.6, and some 2.0. So how do I release my app for all customers? If I release a 1.5 version, then the 1.5 phone can use it - but not the newer phones with smaller screens (aka Tatoo), they require 1.6 or higher? correct?

HIGHMEM support for RAM >256MB
Does that mean 256 meg of the memory currently in the HTC Incredible is unaccessible? IE we really currently only have 256meg not (512-DeviceSpace) on the Incredible or what does that mean? Is the upper side of the memory completely taken up by the device peripherals at this point? (Assuming this works as a normal kernel layout where the devices take the high address space).
I make application using Froyo SDK.It support only Android 2.2.It is working well on Emulator and Nexus one.but android market uploading error like below. The file is invalid: W/ResourceType(12468): Bad string block: last string is not 0-terminated ERROR getting 'android:label' attribute: attribute is not a string value. If change android:minSdkVersion to 7, then no uploading error. But application only support Froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNew to android and currently working out what phone to get. I'm on WinMo at the moment and use bluetooth tethering (more correctly termed Bluetooth PAN) on a daily basis with a laptop on my commute to work. I am reading in various places that Andoid does not support BT PAN? Surely this can't be true, its been on WinMo devices for the past 5 years! I'm not interested in WiFi tethering - it consumes too much battery. Bluetooth is the best solution or this having been designed for mobile use, and its 3MBit bandwidth is plenty fast enough.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe roadmap for cupcake states that it now supports the Bluetooth A2DP & AVRCP profiles. Since the Bluetooth API was ripped out of 1.0 does that mean that these are the only profiles supported? Or are there any other profiles currently supported?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI read somewhere that the Nexus One supported the SPP profile but now this page seems to contradict that : http://www.google.com/support/android/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&gui....
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is Froyo running on an X10, I know its true because its my x10, this is an Alpha version and runs from the SD Card, it is not even a beta version yet but this version is around 90% done, still some things to resolve. This is not a re-flash of the phone it is a dual boot so has not affected the SE base operating system currently installed being 2.1.
The guys at XDA are working on this and if they get it fully resolved then it will become available as an alternative system, if they keep it as dual boot it will never affect your warranty. At all as this installs on your SD Card, there is a thread on the XDA forum but in respect of this forums policy on rooting and other things I wont post the link but searching the XDA forum for x10 Custom Rom will return a number of results so you can find it from there yourself.
If the guys at XDA can do this then SE can, the only thing is XDA are not restricted by International markets and operator restrictions like SE are, if XDA make a custom rom that runs 2.2. From the SD Card then for me its perfect it keeps the phone warranty and software as is and lest you run your own free Froyo version. The pictures are not photo shopped except for clipping and sizing from the original.
Can anyone tell me about the Japanese phonebook sorting status in Android contacts? Does froyo support AKASATANA and Yomigana?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone explain the current situation with bluetooth from a developer point? I take it the latest 1.5 version still does not have development of bluetooth apps? If not, when is this going to happen? It's been in J2ME for years! I saw some post about it being available via compiling the framework, what does this mean? Does this mean an app can be done that uses bluetooth or is this just for developemt only? I am only just starting to look at Android, so totally new to this. However, if I can't do bluetooth SPP connections then it's no use to me for what I want, so I'll not bother for now.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI know that as of now it's not possible, and the hacked usb port is still pretty useless. But as far as I know, with the VDP profile on Bluetooth it should be theoretically possible with more (relatively) simple software hack. As I understand Bluetooth profiles, they are essentially software drivers for the hardware, and most Android devices support Bluetooth 2.1 which should be fast enough (~366KBytes/s) to transmit standard def video.
Just wondering if anyone is working on or knows of a way to support additional bluetooth profiles on a rooted Android system?
I am new to android. For getting more number of downloads. I will make application in Android 1.5 version. How can I support multiple screen resolution from android 1.5 version. Is there any problem develop application in Android 1.5 and release in market. Is it visible to higher version mobile market for downloading apk file.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf so, does anybody know which version it's scheduled to be supported in (in built-in Chrome Lite browser)? Also, is it currently supported on any of the alternative browsers for Android like FireFox or Opera Mini?

Perhaps a good sign, even without specific dates, etc?
If you are like me, you have been impatiently waiting for bluetooth support for keyboards / joysticks specifically the wii controller. Is it just me who wants this or what?I'm on the developer forums all the time and hardly see anyone mention this. All I know is that the nexus supported this feature, but the Evo doesn't. Seems that Sense UI screwed up this capability.HOWEVER, after installing android 2.2, with bluetooth fully functioning it seems that it still doesn't work which leads me to believe that the bluetooth HID profile is missing.
