I Hate You Froyo 2.2
Whenever I plug my phone in, it tries to install the drivers but can't. I am running XP and yes I know it's because I have USB debugging turned on. But you kind of have to if you want to root it. I've tried turning USB debugging off, installing the drivers, and then turning it back on which failed. ADB wouldn't recognize my phone. I've tried charge only and PC mode. I'm getting irritated because I paid money for Root explorer and I'd like to be able to use it. Not to mention titanium backup.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my droid to 2.2 froyo and installed the Black Ice Froyo. I was wondering how do I go about putting on a new them do. I just download it through rom manager or do I have to go back to the default droid theme if so how do I go back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust did the Froyo OTA earlier - it updated without a hitch (and real fast thanks to broadband Wifi). I've been playing around with my "new" DX and no issues since the update this afternoon. Seems to working great so far. Even though Froyo has just been released I'm curious on what may be changed/enhanced/deleted/etc for Gingerbread (perhaps what other changes people here might expect or want). I have read some of the posts here about it and understand its mostly just speculation at this point, but I thought I might ask anyway. I do hope Motoblur might be removed or at least diminished more than it is now for 3.0. Its supposed to be out by the end of the year from what I've read. Also some have posted that the DX may not get Gingerbread. Hope that's not true.
View 18 Replies View RelatedIt is called "tag apps" and it is free. I was able to rename my icons on the home screen. Better cut does not work with froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone can confirm this or not. I have been reading that Verizon / Motorola have pulled Froyo 2.2 all together. When you go to Motorola's support page for 2.2 Android software you get an error page that says permission denied. Not sure whether to manually update to FRG22 or wait until the OTA update comes out if ever.

HTC Droid Incredible may be gearing up for Froyo, 802.11n wireless support | Android Central
Perhaps a good sign, even without specific dates, etc?
As it may be a little while before Froyo is available for the Incredible I wonder if it might be possible to port Froyo's browser with flash support to Android 2.1. Ah the things you dream up when stuck at work doing data entry all day.

View 26 Replies View RelatedInstalled the 2.2 that leaked yesterday - works amazing by the way.Anyway, I wanted to install some of my downloaded apps to SD. Surprise surprise, it doesn't appear that I have this option on ANY of the 15 or so apps I've downloaded.I've read that developers need to unlock this option when they create their app - I guess most of the apps available today just don't support it? Can anyone confirm this? Am I just doing something wrong?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo we heard recently that Flash will be supported by the 2.2 release. Has anyone heard about PDF support? I am reading an RSS feed and it has some notes in PDF format that I would like to display within my application.

HIGHMEM support for RAM >256MB
Does that mean 256 meg of the memory currently in the HTC Incredible is unaccessible? IE we really currently only have 256meg not (512-DeviceSpace) on the Incredible or what does that mean? Is the upper side of the memory completely taken up by the device peripherals at this point? (Assuming this works as a normal kernel layout where the devices take the high address space).
A couple days ago I manually installed froyo for Rogers network. It went fine.however the next day I lost my data.I can't get it back no matter what I do.Can anyone help me get it back?Or know how?I checked my APN settings a million times,I called Rogers and they refreshed my network but still not working. If I reboot my phone, I get the 3g symbol for about 2 seconds then it goes away and that's it.Someone please help me if you can!
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone finding their Desires battery life has decreased with Froyo installed? I used to only go into the orange after a full day at work, now my battery died at around 12 Midday (Unplugged it 5 hours before) - I haven't been playing around on my phone or anything, this is just idle use.
Went through all my settings and all were the same as before. I'm NOT running any Task Killer or AutoSync software. Running stock OTA Froyo, never routed my phone before or after.
I wanted to know if Android 2.2 (Froyo) supports Bluetooth V3 .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI make application using Froyo SDK.It support only Android 2.2.It is working well on Emulator and Nexus one.but android market uploading error like below. The file is invalid: W/ResourceType(12468): Bad string block: last string is not 0-terminated ERROR getting 'android:label' attribute: attribute is not a string value. If change android:minSdkVersion to 7, then no uploading error. But application only support Froyo.
View 2 Replies View Relatedone of the key things for me on the upgrade was the exchange support, and after using it all yesterday as of this morning I'm getting a 'security error' which has stopped the mail connected. Ive reinstalled and its died completely Is anyone else using the mail app with exchange with a self signed cert?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just done the 'one click root' to my desire (here), and after installing leeDroid's Froyo rom (2.0c) I have lost root access to my phone. This means I cant do a Titanium Backup restore to get all my stuff back. Anyone know of a quick fix? or do I have to roll back and start again?
View 9 Replies View RelatedNow that we know this phone is getting an early/mid September release.
I have a few questions:
Do you think GPS will work on the phone out of the box?
Do you think Froyo and Flash will come pre-installed?
I hear the phone only has 2GB of onboard memory, but is there a microSD card that is pre-installed? If so, how much space is on it?
Can anyone tell me about the Japanese phonebook sorting status in Android contacts? Does froyo support AKASATANA and Yomigana?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to ADW Launcher the other day and purchased Better Cut and some Icon Packs. At the bottom of my screen, I made one of the shortcuts for my sms/mms messages and the other my internet browser. The sms icon should be a mushroom from the Mario Icon Pack and the browser is the fake Chrome icon. When I first put them on they, they looked fine. After about a day they both turned... umm... ghosty? Just like the button that opens the icon drawer. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone could help me make these two icons go back to the way they were. I'm also open to any other tips and tricks for ADW, Better Cut, Better Keyboard, etc.I would love to be able to take screen shots as well, but for the life of me I have not been able to as of yet.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI swear I tried this at some point and it worked, but I checked with Motorola about whether or not the GPS receiver will work when the phone is in airplane mode. They say it doesn't.Can anyone confirm whether or not the GPS (not aGPS, just good old fashioned, slow to download datum and get a fix GPS) works when in airplane mode?I'm traveling overseas to Japan, and only want to use wifi and GPS, so I thought I'd just leave the phone in airplane mode the whole time, but I'm really going to need GPS working (I'm using Maverick Pro for offline maps). I'd go out and try it, but it's snowing and crappy, and I don't want to sit outside that long

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I manually updated my phone from 2.0 to 2.1 and was a painless process thanks to you guys I saved it to my SD card then deleted that file later.I have a quick question though. My phone is having problems. If I get a new droid but use my same SD card in it, will my 2.1 already be initiated into the new phone, or would i have to OTA the 2.1 on the new phone?Basically, if I stick my SD card (where I moved the 2.1 file to so that I could manually update my OS to 2.1) in a 2.0 phone, will it make that phone go to 2.1?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Ubuntu 8.10 box with everything including Eclipse working perfectly, both the emulator and USB connection to my ADP1... works perfectly!
But I decide to inflict Vista on myself by attempting to get Eclipse and ADT working on my Vista laptop.
I set up Vista with Eclipse and installed the Android plug-in... but... the only thing NOT working is the USB connection using the exact same USB cable to the exact same ADP1.
Everything including the emulator is just fine, but no USB to ADP1.
Here is the message I get when I try to use the ADB command line: ----------
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:UsersJohn>adb version Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.20 <---- (Same version as on the Linux box)
C:UsersJohn>adb shell * daemon not running. starting it now * * daemon started successfully * error: device not found
C:UsersJohn>adb shell error: device not found
C:UsersJohn>
And to top it all off, the Device Manager shows the ADP1 sdcard as a USB mass storage device. but won't let me install the USB driver over the Microsoft version.
Like a moron, I got so excited about the Froyo OTA, I forgot to unroot before I upgraded.Luckily for me, the upgrade installed without any errors. The only negative (big one i might add) is that the Android Market is not installed on the phone.Luckily for me I have a backup of about 90% of my apps and was able to reinstall them (after I did a factory reset in the hopes of the market installing itself). My phone is working regualry for the most part besides the last 5 or 6 apps that I installed and hadn't backed up on the sd card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried to save some data to my phone and it says that the SD card is not installed. I've verified it's there. Is there a setting that I might have to tweak to let the phone know it's there? Or is there a chance the cards bad?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Droid yesterday and installed the 2.1 rom. I am not happy with the lack of keyboard backlighting and it seems quite buggy to me. I want to know how to go back to 2.0.1 Do I just replace the file in my nandroid folder with my original backup? One other thing I am wondering is, will having my phone rooted mess up any ota updates of 2.1 that Verizon releases?
