HTC Hero :: Bluetooth Support - File Transfer Doesn't Work
Sep 3, 2009Another day, another thing that I assumed the Hero would do because my last 3 WinMo phones have done it but doesn't...
Obviously BT file transfer doesn't work
I knew that voice dialling isn't support - why on earth not though?
I've just paired it with my BT car stereo, and I have also discovered that it doesn't download the phonebook to the stereo like it did from my TyTN II!
So how am I supposed to dial in the car!? I'm handsfree but to dial I can't voicedial or scroll through the phonebook, so the only option is to hope the number is in my received/missed/dialled calls, or pull over and dial it from my phone manually.
Is there any chance that this will appear in a future update?

Nov 24, 2009As we know, bluetooth-related APIs was not included until version 2.0. And the current condition is Droid is the only 2.0-supported choice. I've known there are many kinds of unofficial 2.0 build, but are they stable enought to program? Does anybody has the experiences of programming bluetooth on a non-Droid handset? What is it, and what is the version of your OS? Did you hear of whether G1/magic/hero/tattoo is going to support eclair officially or not?

Oct 13, 2010I wanted to transfer files back and forth between my android pone and a laptop. Quite honestly I had never used bluetooth before, but since this phone has it I am playing around with it.I tried Astro and ES File explorer, but those work only if I need to transfer files between phones.I then found out Bluetooth File Transfer which lets me share files between my phone and my laptop. That app is very nice, and also by the same developer Dual File Manager.both free from the market.But I supposed file transfer via bluetooth between a laptop or other devices and the phone was a given.Is an extra app absolutely necessary or did I miss something? What other File Managers with bluetooth support do you know of?

Mar 5, 2010I'm new to this forum and have just purchased a BNIB Hero locked to Orange,Rom Ver: 2.73.61.66.I am not much phone or PC savy but am learning.This is my first Android Phone.I discovered this site last night and spent a few hours reading, what a great site.Managed to set up a Google link, up loaded a bar scanner and scanned a couple of apps off this site, excellent.Unfortunately also spent a few hours trying to transfer a blue-tooth file from my existing phone to the Hero, to eventually find out the Orange Hero is not set up for this, I was truly amazed at this news.I am able to pair both devises, just the transfer won't take place.I searched this site and the web for an application that will allow me to do this, can anyone suggest one.

Everything is connected and I have had no problem sending files from the computer the phone, but everytime I try to send from the phone to the computer it says "unable to connect to remote device"anyone have any suggestions? this happens with pictures, videos and music files. I can't transfer anything to the computer.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the first time i tried it, it was successful - at least partially.
