Android :: Video Out - Support Additional Bluetooth Profiles

Mar 23, 2010

I know that as of now it's not possible, and the hacked usb port is still pretty useless. But as far as I know, with the VDP profile on Bluetooth it should be theoretically possible with more (relatively) simple software hack. As I understand Bluetooth profiles, they are essentially software drivers for the hardware, and most Android devices support Bluetooth 2.1 which should be fast enough (~366KBytes/s) to transmit standard def video.

Just wondering if anyone is working on or knows of a way to support additional bluetooth profiles on a rooted Android system?

HTC EVO 4G :: Additional Sound Profiles?

Jul 6, 2010

I have searched a bit for this info but don't seem to find much on the issue. I just got my EVO after having a Blackberry for several years. Are we able to create additional sound profiles. Example, I need to have a quiet setting while I am at work so I get quiet notifications of emails or texts, but no ringer. I love the phone, just having a hard time making the adjustment away from the berry.

General :: More Games Not Support Profiles?

Apr 10, 2012

One of the games that I was addicted to, for quite a while, was Airport mania 2. One of the best features about this game is that it had support for multiple users. That way, on our family tablet, I could play it, my wife could play it, and so could my daughter, and all our progress and scores were separate. This was so awesome it's hard to describe. Kind of like having an epiphany.

So the main question is, why do other uber popular games like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, etc not support multiple users.

Tablet are becoming more prevalent these days and most families I knew have one tablet that is shared. Not being able to separate my game scores and progress from those of other family members is really bad. I don't play most games any more because someone else in my family already does and I want to play a whole run by myself.

From a programming standpoint it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard. A separate set of stored data for each profile and a screen to let the user choose which set of data to load. However since very few games do this, I'm guessing there's more to it than that, or they just don't care..

For some reason, my call screen is still blue (BT), but the handset engages and the bluetooth cuts out.

Android :: Andoid Doesn't Support Bluetooth PAN

Sep 10, 2010

New to android and currently working out what phone to get. I'm on WinMo at the moment and use bluetooth tethering (more correctly termed Bluetooth PAN) on a daily basis with a laptop on my commute to work. I am reading in various places that Andoid does not support BT PAN? Surely this can't be true, its been on WinMo devices for the past 5 years! I'm not interested in WiFi tethering - it consumes too much battery. Bluetooth is the best solution or this having been designed for mobile use, and its 3MBit bandwidth is plenty fast enough.

Seems that Sense UI screwed up this capability.HOWEVER, after installing android 2.2, with bluetooth fully functioning it seems that it still doesn't work which leads me to believe that the bluetooth HID profile is missing.

HTC Hero :: Bluetooth Support - File Transfer Doesn't Work

Sep 3, 2009

Another day, another thing that I assumed the Hero would do because my last 3 WinMo phones have done it but doesn't...

Obviously BT file transfer doesn't work

I knew that voice dialling isn't support - why on earth not though?

I've just paired it with my BT car stereo, and I have also discovered that it doesn't download the phonebook to the stereo like it did from my TyTN II!

So how am I supposed to dial in the car!? I'm handsfree but to dial I can't voicedial or scroll through the phonebook, so the only option is to hope the number is in my received/missed/dialled calls, or pull over and dial it from my phone manually.

Is there any chance that this will appear in a future update?
