View 7 Replies View RelatedI just recently rooted/unlocked nand on my EVO and before I did the steps to unlock nand I had these "apps" that gave me access to a bunch of setting (one of the reasons I wanted to root obviously) but then after the nand and flashing of Fressh Rom, I noticed they were not there. Is this cause of the Rom? or could I have somehow messed something up?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I fire up Android.tether it installs fine but always says unable to start. I installed lampu and it does nothing also. I followed the 10 min. video after a lot of clicking the SD card, the one provided with the phone BTW, but there was one line that didn't look right to me. I copy and paste to the line with the pound sign, and when I hit enter it duplicated it with the pound sign in front of it. All the other lines would duplicate without the pound sign. Do I have to start all over? If so, do I have to remove root first. If I do have to remove root, how do I do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to the rooting scene, I can tell you all the apps that are needed for a jailbroken Iphone, but I don't know where to start when it comes to root. Yes I did a "root" search on the market, and I am so ignorant I don't know what the apps are for or capable of.I already know root explorer is a must, other than that I have nothing.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI don't even care about the relatively short battery life. So I finally rooted the phone, narrowly avoiding disaster along the way. And now I'm like "now what?"
Obviously there is a wi-fi tether out there. And then there is the overclock. But I'm wondering what other apps you can use with a rooted phone that you otherwise can't. Are there paid apps out there that require root access? In other words, what's the big deal? Why do we root our phones?
This is an honest question. I'm not suggesting that it's not worth it - just trying to learn more about android. I'm a convert from Blackberry and I'm not going back.
please.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried installing "Black Hole Live" wallpaper from the PlayStore, it failed to install BUT left some sort of remnants in the "Apps Listing" that will not allow being uninstalled. It shows as 00B on all "storage" and is "Disabled". Being from IT, I like things clean and tiddy. This remnant refuses to uninstall, I've even looked everywhere it could reside using ES File Explorer, nothing. HOW do I get rid of this stinker??
Second: I'm sure this has been covered before, but I have to ask again if not. There are Apps that are put on the device from the factory, buried somewhere in the OS, that aren't "free" apps after a ridiculously short "Trial Period". I want to remove them, they're using up storage space and I don't use them. One in particular with an absurd 7 day free trial is PRESS READER. I want it off! I downloaded an Uninstaller called "Root Uninstaller APK", but it shows nothing that any other Uninstaller does and Press Reader is not shown.
How do you move all apps with root but without partition. I saw it was possible but I do not understand. HTC Explorer A310e.
View 9 Replies View RelatedTo those who have rooted their Desire, this may sound a bit odd, but just humour me, rooting my phone, mainly because Im very paranoid about getting it wrong, and also it seems like a hell of a lot of fiddling for little gain. The only benefit I really want from rooting is to remove the dumbass demo apps Telstra installed. Is is possible to remove those apps on an un-rooted Desire? Would I be correct in saying that ADB could do it?
