View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm having the same issue as listed below from a post on Android Central. Thought I'd check here to see if anyone has had this as well. I've edited the post to reflect my issues. Link to original thread: HTC Mail Memory Leak/Bug ("Phone Storage Getting Low") - Android Central Forums. "I have reason to believe that HTC Mail has a significant memory leak or bug which is causing all of the "Phone storage is getting low" messages. I've had the phone for 3 weeks as of this Thursday. My setup is 2 POP3 email accounts configured during the initial setup in HTC Mail. At around 110-115 megs it triggers the "phone storage low" message. The problem is that as far as I can tell, there's no way to reduce the file size of this HTC mail app once this process has started.
I've deleted every shred of email, all In-boxes, all sent, all trash all everything from every mail folder for every account - no reduction in app size. I trashed every shred of email from the system and the HTC mail app still hovered around 110megs (and the phone storage low indicators continuing). After researching the issue online and piecing 2+2 together I realized that the only solution is to wipe the phone. The issue there is that there are no guarantees that the issue wouldn't resurface again (actually it's quite likely).
Bottom line: HTC mail seems to have a very significant memory leak or bug that causes it to blow through its allocated memory at an alarming pace and there is very little that can be done to stop it once it's started. I would strongly recommend to those of you with the above issues to not use HTC mail after wiping the phone".
I just got my Captivate the other day and I was wondering if there are any good e-mail apps for gmail, yahoo mail, and hotmail? I've tried each and the stock but either it won't let me add multiple accounts or it doesn't receive the emails even though there are new ones in my inbox when I check it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an app to replace the "Car Home" program that automatically opens when the Motorola Droid is placed in the car dock? It is bad enough that this screen comes up everytime you dock the phone in the car, but it is even more annoying that the "home" button is hijacked so that anytime you press it from any other program it takes you back to the "Car Home" instead of the main home. I would love to have an App that would allow you to designate a different program to open when in the dock, such as Quick Dial.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using the HTC Sync with mixed results. Is there anything out there that will let me sync at least the calendar and contacts both ways via USB that does not involve using gmail? There are so many out there it seems but I don't have a clue which are any good. I don't mind paying for a quality product if it exists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving recently switched to Android from iOS, I am still learing how to customize Android to get the phone just right... One of the features that I really miss is the notifications on the lockscreen. I have a company phone - and the security settings forces a PIN or Password lockscreen. I have tried installing a 3rd Party lockscreen that supports notifications (Such as LockerPro), but all it does is provide the new lockscreen in addition to the default one (i.e. I have to unlock "twice"). I would like the default lockscreen to be replaced by the 3rd party one.

After a forum search I was able to get rid of the notifications from the default messaging app, so thanks to the forum for that. Is there any way to replace the default messaging app's screen with Hand cent? I'm talking about the messaging screen you get to if you swipe twice to the right from the home screen, i.e. Home > Mail > Messaging

View 35 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this subject has been beat to death, but I was bored earlier this evening and decided to do some experimentation. I was interested in finding a good program with which to sync play lists, music, pictures, movies, etc. As it turns out, Media GO works really well. I have been using it as my default music player for some time now because of the "Sense Me" play list option. I'm still pretty new here and I hadn't seen anything posted regarding this program and it's INC compatibility.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need an e-mail application that sends all e-mails to my phone, but doesn't read them on the server (unless I actually read them).I have to check my parents e-mail on-the-go, so when I sync it to my phone, all the e-mails are recieved very well. However, right as the phone gets the e-mails, it reads them on the server without me even touching the e-mails (which gets very annoying to my parents). Is there anyway to make it so that when my phone pulls the e-mails that it doesn't read them on the server?I have the Samsung Moment, and the e-mail server is Yahoo. I've tried both K-9 and the default e-mail app, but niether have let me have this setting (as far as I'm aware).

is there a app to replace the default FM Radio in HTC Wildfire S without rooting it.
No Streaming. Only the available FM station available after attaching the headphone.
I'm having problems with K-9 mail. I'm getting mail fine and can delete it but nothing ever gets marked as 'read'. My new mail messages are up to the hundreds by the middle of the week until I go to google and mark them all as read.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI configure email by using the android2.1 emulator. When I download the files from mail attachment I get the path content://com.android.email.attachmentprovider/1/1/RAW
I need to read that file data. How to read the data from the device? Is there any permission to read file from the phone memory.
My code is here:
intent = getIntent(); String str_sel_fname=intent.getDataString();
In the eclipse file explorer /data/data/com.android.email/databases/1.db_att/1
Here 1 is store the attachment file. Now How to get the data from that?
Android documents starting the email intent for sending emails with Intent.ACTION_SEND. Is there an intent which directs the user to reading his email, or which launches the default email application? The application that launches the "read mail" intent would get no access to the email data.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Druid and a I'm wondering when I get a Google Calendar invite via G mail and accept it it pops up asking me what program to use. The list includes a browser and Calendar so I'm sure it's one of these but which is it for sure to set it to default? It also seems to ask a few times so it might need a certain combination of programs to work w/o a hitch. Maybe calendar first to update my calendar with the appointment/meeting then a browser to send a notification to the sender that I've accepted or? Anyone know for sure so I can set them to default properly so I don't have to randomly guess several times each time I get an invite?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've recently released an application on to the Android Market. Whilst it was in the "Just In" section I was seeing decent download numbers, but since then interest seems to have dropped off significantly. I think now people can only find my app through a specific keyword search, which doesn't make me particularly confident about it ever becoming popular.
What can you do when your app has passed the 'Just In' stage but has not reached the 'Featured' stage? The majority of applications seem to be in this middle stage so I think other people must have a similar problem. It seems like the 'Featured' section just makes the popular apps more popular, and makes it really difficult for newer apps to ever catch up with them. Does anyone know if the situation with the Apple App Store is any different?
It seems to be possible to refresh your app and make it appear in the 'Just In' section again if you update it sometime after, but I can't find any real guidelines on this. Is anyone familiar with the specific rules for this, and is repeatedly riding the 'Just In' buzz the only viable strategy for a new app?
i set up my yahoo account on my galaxy with 1.6 and everything is working perfectly, except that when i log in online, all my mail is marked as read.basically every time the phone goes and gets the new email is marks them as read on the server/webmail.I primarily check my mail online as opposed to the phone so this is a big problem. i've gone through the settings of both the default mail client as well as K9 and i cant find anything to change this behavior.i have yahoo mail plus and have also looked through the prefrences in my yahoo mail options.does anyone have an idea on how to use pop mail while keeping unread messages as unread on the server?
