HTC Wildfire :: Replace Default Messaging Screen?

Oct 5, 2010

I've got an HTC Wildfire, and I've started using Handcent for SMS messages. After a forum search I was able to get rid of the notifications from the default messaging app, so thanks to the forum for that. Is there any way to replace the default messaging app's screen with Hand cent? I'm talking about the messaging screen you get to if you swipe twice to the right from the home screen, i.e. Home > Mail > Messaging

General :: Replace Default Lockscreen?

Nov 17, 2013

Having recently switched to Android from iOS, I am still learing how to customize Android to get the phone just right... One of the features that I really miss is the notifications on the lockscreen. I have a company phone - and the security settings forces a PIN or Password lockscreen. I have tried installing a 3rd Party lockscreen that supports notifications (Such as LockerPro), but all it does is provide the new lockscreen in addition to the default one (i.e. I have to unlock "twice"). I would like the default lockscreen to be replaced by the 3rd party one.

HTC Eris :: Replace Default With DialerOne (Vanilla Clone)

Apr 3, 2010

I made this update this morning. This will replace the stock HTC Dialer with DialerOne (it will actually integrate it into the phone), a much better option for a dialer. You can make this dialer look like the Vanilla dialer as well. Credit to the creator of DialerOne.

HTC Wildfire :: Slow Default Music Player

Oct 24, 2010

Is it just me or the default music player is VERY SLOW to react. I mean, the phone isn't slow in any other respect, not even browsing the web. But the music player is very slow to react relatively. I have a 8GB SD card almost full of mp3 files but I don't think the mp3 player should feel sluggish after it had indexed all the tracks. Has anyone else noticed this? So far the mp3 player has been my only disappointment (not just because of this) with the Wildfire and I've been using it a couple of weeks.

I have seen the rooting video by theunlockr and it seems easy enough. And I can follow instructions so installing the ROM should not be an issue.

What/where is the radio update and how do I install it?

If I backup my apps with MyBackupPro, will they be able to receive updates once reinstalled using MyBackupPro?

Is there any word on an official update? Would I receive it direct from HTC or need to wait for an Orange allowed one?

Set Up Default Selections For Both Radio Groups?

Oct 30, 2011

I am making a very basic android app. Basically, the app displays two radio groups, with three radio buttons per group. After selecting a radio button from each group, the user clicks another button (let's just call it "Done"), which records which radio buttons are selected and, based on that information, will launch another activity (so there are nine different activities that could be launched).

1) How do I make it so that when the user clicks Done, the program will check which radio buttons are selected and then know which activity to launch? I was thinking of using a switch statement, but I am unsure how to write the code for that.

2) Is there a way to set up default selections for both radio groups?

Feb 22, 2010

I would like the users of my android app to have the option to email me the stacktrace of any uncaught exception that crashes my app. Originally I thought I would just wrap every entry point to my app in a try/catch block, but there are far too many of these even in my tiny app for this to be reasonable. So what I am really looking for is a way to specify some method to be the default handler for any uncaught exceptions.

HTC Wildfire :: Wildfire Wallpaper And Lock Screen Resolution

Jul 18, 2010

I bought myself the HTC Wildfire about a week back. I have a few questions regarding the wallpaper and the lock screen resolution.

The Wildfire screen resolution is 240x320. What should the ideal resolution be for my lock screen and wallpaper images?

When I set a 240x320 image as wallpaper or lock screen it appears very pixelated. However, when using resolutions of 640x480 and above, the wallpaper looks great but the lock screen is still pixelated. Also, when selecting the lock screen image I can't select the whole thing. Parts always get cropped.

Somehow the HTC backgrounds that are present on the phone don't look as pixelated although they are of a lower resolution.
