View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night when I plugged in my power cord, it did not begin to charge, so I unplugged it and looked and the power cord was smoking and sparking. Do you know what would cause this? I am looking for a micro USB cable to see if the phone socket is still working. If the phone socket is broken, I guess HTC support is the first place to go?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat is the difference between these two:Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Enable always-on mobile data
- Description: "Uses more power on some mobile networks"
- Message after disabling: "Attention: Disabling always on mobile data may cause connectivity problems in some applications. Please use the manual refresh feature in applications to update online data" Settings > Accounts & sync > Background data
- Seems to be the same as the 4th toggle in the Power Control widget
- Description: "Applications can sync, send, and receive data at any time"
- Message after disabling: "Attention: Disabling background data extends battery life and lowers data use. Some applications may still use the background data connection.".Disabling either one seems to extend battery life. I haven't figured our yet how they differentially affect push email, etc. Would someone kindly explain to me how these settings are different?
After using the Sennheiser CX300 with it's asymmetrical cord (one longer than the other) that goes behind the neck (or J cord), I simply cannot go back to the symmetrical even length Y cord. Now that I have an Android phone, it'd be great if I could get a quality pair of asymmetrical cord earbuds with a media button. I bought the Sennheiser MM50 iP which looked like clones of the CX300 with a media button, but just like the reviews said, they broke within months (cable shorts out at the jack). I'm sending them back for warranty repair, but it'll only be a matter of time before they break again (which is strange because my CX300s are practically bulletproof). Anyone have recommendations for in-ear earbuds with a media button and asymmetrical cord?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm making an Android Java app game (although this question applies to all languages really) and hope to release the first version soon. I'm nervous about how I save data in my game. My problem is that, if in a later update, I decide to store more data or store the same data in a different way, I need to be careful I don't lose or corrupt data for users that upgrade (i.e. I want users to be able to use data created by an old version in the new version, like their high scores from before). For example, say I want to save high scores in version 1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan anyone help explain what this does? I did a small search around the internet, and it came up with just about nothing. My first question is: I turned mobile data off, and yet, during the night, I was charged for data, so something leaked.Personally, I thought if this was because of this particular function. But maybe it was something else. So, I turned it off, but around the forums for other androids people seem to think that syncing doesn't work as well with this disabled.Does anybody know what might have happened? And could this function have been the thing that caused the leak. The leak, was actually for only 50 KB or so, but because I'm on Page Plus, it caused me to go under the required balance to refill of $29.95 and caused my plan to lapse. It's important for me for this not to happen again. Can anyone give any tips?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed a huge spike in their data usage? I used to average between 200-250MB per month with my Storm2. i am at 726MB so far this month!
I don't tether and I use the same WIFI networks that I used on my Storm2. I use the Incredible a little bit more than i did the Storm2...but 3X the amount of DATA seems odd.
currently have the lg voyager with $10 vcast and $15 internet data plan. ordered the incredible from best buy and will be activating from home. do i have to call up and cancel these both before activating my incredible and will the data plan be automatically implemented since its required? im guessing its to much to ask to just cancel the vcast and see if the internet charge carries over at $15 instead of $30. either way it will be worth it to get rid of this brick of a phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Incredible. Working fine, suddenly this am, after a phone reset, the data no longer worked. Phone and texting are fine. Under settings > wireless and networks > Mobile network it is dark grey, and says "Turning on"..... over and over.
Spent 45 minutes with tech support. Nothing. Did 2 factory resets, checked the network settings in the phone, checked the settings on their end, nothing worked.
So, they say, we will need to replace your phone. Then, we have no Incredibles in stock. So, they call my local store, who also has none in stock of course. So they say they may be getting some in tonight or tomorrow, supposedly they are going to call me tomorrow and give me an update. I wonder if anyone else has had data issues requiring phone replacement? I guess since I talked to VZW there's nothing else that I could check on the phone.
Was there any discussion from verizon about getting rid of unlimited data? july 29th was the date that they were apparently going to do a press release or something, but idk i didn't hear anything. am i missing anything?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo this morning.I noticed I wasn't getting any data service on my phone so I ran the *228 thing. Phone rebooted and problem was solved.Sort off.I turned the phone off at lunch 'cuz I wanted to see the awesome boot animation. When the phone turned back on, there was no data service. I've now found that if I do the *228 thing it fixes the problem, but only until I reboot again. I've gone into the wireless and network settings and Mobile Network is checked and stuck at turning on. Do I need to do a factory reset to fix this? I've got a back up with My Backup Pro so it's not a huge deal if I do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the forums and so far am loving the vast amount of stuff I'm learning from this site and what this phone can really do! I just received my bill from Verizon for May and compared it to my April bill. I went from using 52MB of data on my Omnia to 545MB of data on my Incredible! I'm so thankful for the unlimited data
What was your data usage before and after you got your Incredible?
Im going to send my Inc in for a return.. Just curious if its possible to recover any data after I wipe the phone? Does the phone do a secure wipe or is the data still there just waiting to be overwritten?
