View 1 RepliesI would like some help on putting my site into an app. I will soon have a mobile view of my forum basically the site detects the browser and serves up the mobile theme. Similar to how Welcome to Facebook | Facebook. What is the simplest way of putting this an app form?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBeing a geek, I've been very interested in getting a Droid, and in anticipation, have been following this forum since day one.I've been to the Verizon store a few times to play with the Droid, and was comparing it to the Eris today when an employee came over and started chatting with me.He had a Droid, so I asked him how he liked it, etc, etc. I mentioned how I knew quite a bit about the device just from reading up on it online. I asked him about the keyboard, and what his take was.He mentioned the lack of raised keys, etc., and then said his main complaint was that there was no way to 'lock' the Alt key so he could type numbers - and he proceeded to show me how you had to hold the Alt key down, and type with the other hand. Then I mentioned to him that I thought all you needed to do was double-tap the alt key to lock it. He did that and was amazed that it was that simple, and thanked me for the tip.Perhaps this forum should be mandatory reading for all Verizon employees?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been searching the forums for a way to change the "via facebook for android" or the "via HTC sense message on the bottom of facebook posts.
I figure it is done by the app somewhere.
Or is it done by facebook?
Has anyone seen anything on how to customize it?
we need to get some sub-forums going for the droid, its been awhile since the phone came out and i think it should only be necessary to make them. i saw you guys made two already (how to & Support and trouble shooting)
example:
Android OS Discussion
Discussion surrounding the latest leaked and official releases of the Droid's operating system. Droid Tips, How To & FAQ Droid-specific Tips, How To & FAQ. Please Note - you cannot create new threads in here. Appropriate threads will be moved into this forum by mods.............
Yes this is to the forum guys and just wondering if you guys are talking to any of the devs that use your site in creating this wonderful forum as a full blown app.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf so, do you think they shake their heads in disgust that we have to change or enhance everything they do? Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I can think of several helpful members here now that I would not be a bit surprised if I found that they were co-creators and architects of the Droid. Hats off and thanks to you, either way! If you guys are out there reading this thread. you guys rule!

View 11 Replies View RelatedCan't load xda forums this morning. Want tp tp download the latest vision of Cyanogen Tazz.
View 36 Replies View RelatedWell I looked around but I don't see any mention of it on these forums. Onestepahead from xda got a reply from htc about the battery and they said to do this. To also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly: 1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more 2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour 3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well Going to try it tonight, people say it works though. No idea why but figured I'd share and give the results tomorrow. here's a link to the page Official response from HTC RE: How to double battery Life (WORKS!) + 2nd Reply - xda-developers
View 25 Replies View RelatedHas anyone ever had a error message come up on the Evo when trying to access the forums from their phone stating that the server could not be found?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just made a private comment to twospirits, suggesting that he sticky the "What Apps Do You Have" thread. His response was that he didn't want to sticky too many threads, as to overwhelm the main page with a dozen stickied threads. Instead, he's relying on the "Forum Guidelines" stickied item. I think that's great but in my past experience, new users don't usually check that. In my experience, new users will simply come on in, maybe glance over the thread titles of the first page to see if any pertain to what they're interested in, then simply start a new thread to get their questions addressed. And that new thread is often redundant. twospirits suggested that I start a discussion to see what others in the community thought. If you have a specific thread that you think should be stickied
My nominations:
EVO Screen Protectors Thread
What apps to put on your EVO 4G
Ultimate Screen Protector-Body Skin Thread
When I navigate to this site on my phone it shows up fine.. but once I tried to log in i got some kind of weird error and now I can't access the site at all.. I'm at work right now so I'll update what error it was a bit later. Just wondering if this happens to anybody else? I frequented these forums before I got my N1 and this forum actually gave me the final push to finally step up and order one. But, now when I'm on the go I can't get here

View 2 Replies View RelatedSprint Nextel Corporation - Investor Relations - RSS Content. Kudos to Sprint, this is coming just in time for the March Madness, which is great! I hope this has been tested for enough viewer capacity because it sure will be tested by every Sprint TV customer. I am watching Lafayette v. Lehigh game live. I can definitely wait for Sprint to prepare another app to replace NFL Mobile Live for before the Football games start. Hope this is the beginning for a long season of good news from Sprint, Android 2.1 should be around the corner.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAndroid Version: 2.2 T-Mobile branded
Network: Base - a brand of e-plus, Germany
Taskiller Used: None
Issue: Switch on tethering OR mobile hotspot ->mobile network dies
I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
Recently I logged into GMail with my browser instead of the GMail app, and discovered what I've read before elsewhere... that the GMail mobile web page seems cooler and better, than the app.
So, I've been thinking... which is better? Is either better? Can they both be equally good?
Either way, it occurred to me, it's interesting that all the Android blogs fall all over themselves almost weekly to come out with various "Best X Android Apps" articles, but I don't think I've seen any articles about the best mobile web pages for Android (or any smart phone for that matter).
I understand the money is to be made in apps, and that not much can (yet) be done with the web that you can do with an app (until we have workable Flash?) but surely there must be some great mobile sites out there that are better than, or equal to, apps?
I'm appealing to all of you then to make your suggestions for Best or at least good mobile web pages to use on our Android phones. I'll be looking around myself, and will possibly turn the results into a blog post of my own.
Here are a couple of starters that seem to be better than the app versions:
- Gmail: nicer interface, quick access to GTalk and Buzz as well as Calender, etc.
- Evernote: www.evernote.com/m Evernote has a really good mobile web site in case you don't want to download the app.

I have Sony Ericsson Naite which has only key pad interface (No touch). I would like to install Android in my phone for experimenting with it. It will be great if its possible to dual boot Android with Symbian :-).
Do we need any other special hardware to install operating system in a mobile phone? Will Android work on a key-pad mobile?
I am trying to generate a tourist application for my final year project, which is a tourist application for the Olympic Games in London. the thing which is very confusing for me is that , I really dont know if I have to generate it in Android as a standalone application or should I generate it in Spring+HTML5 as Mobile Web Application?
