HTC Desire :: Phone Won't Charge When Moved
Jul 27, 2010I got my HTC Desire on Contract from o2 on the 24th June.ive now found today that the charger wire cant be in certain angles in order for the phone to charge. For example the phone would charge when faced down, but not charge when faced up.Im assuming its the charging socket in the phone thats going wrong.Went to o2 store, who say i need to send it off to repair because im outside of the 28 days. this could take anything up to three weeks.

The problem is when forwarding sms there is no option to search for a contact. If you press the search button it just goes to online searching and not contact searching.

Oct 1, 2010Just wondering what's usual, I have 114 apps and 29mb phone storage left. I have froyo and force apps to sd. Really interested in how many more apps people can install after rooting and installing apps to sd+. Do you think that apps like google maps will eventually be allowed to be moved to sd?

Jul 27, 2010Well I looked around but I don't see any mention of it on these forums. Onestepahead from xda got a reply from htc about the battery and they said to do this. To also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly: 1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more 2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour 3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well Going to try it tonight, people say it works though. May 24, 2010I just made a private comment to twospirits, suggesting that he sticky the "What Apps Do You Have" thread. His response was that he didn't want to sticky too many threads, as to overwhelm the main page with a dozen stickied threads. Instead, he's relying on the "Forum Guidelines" stickied item. I think that's great but in my past experience, new users don't usually check that. In my experience, new users will simply come on in, maybe glance over the thread titles of the first page to see if any pertain to what they're interested in, then simply start a new thread to get their questions addressed. And that new thread is often redundant. twospirits suggested that I start a discussion to see what others in the community thought. If you have a specific thread that you think should be stickied

Feb 4, 2010When I navigate to this site on my phone it shows up fine.. but once I tried to log in i got some kind of weird error and now I can't access the site at all.. I'm at work right now so I'll update what error it was a bit later. Just wondering if this happens to anybody else? Jun 13, 2010When I had my blackberry storm I could click on picture to view it larger and a black "see through" page would open up with the enlarged picture viewable.Now since I switched to the Motorola Droid when I try to enlarge a picture all I get is the black screen with no picture.

Nov 24, 2009Being a geek, I've been very interested in getting a Droid, and in anticipation, have been following this forum since day one.I've been to the Verizon store a few times to play with the Droid, and was comparing it to the Eris today when an employee came over and started chatting with me.He had a Droid, so I asked him how he liked it, etc, etc. I mentioned how I knew quite a bit about the device just from reading up on it online. I asked him about the keyboard, and what his take was.He mentioned the lack of raised keys, etc., and then said his main complaint was that there was no way to 'lock' the Alt key so he could type numbers - and he proceeded to show me how you had to hold the Alt key down, and type with the other hand.Then I mentioned to him that I thought all you needed to do was double-tap the alt key to lock it. He did that and was amazed that it was that simple, and thanked me for the tip.Perhaps this forum should be mandatory reading for all Verizon employees?
