Some guys gave me the idea to add donate button in mobile apps instead of adding ads.
I search in google, but i couldn't find useful information. It seems that this is impossible for iPhone. There isn't information for BB and i found one discussion for Android.
Do you have experience with such implementation? Is it possible?
I have an idea to add link to web page(simplified for web) where i will place paypal donate button. What you think about this idea?

I need to make a web application for mobile phones so that I can transfer balance from a 'recharge sim' (SIM card used to send balance to other mobile SIMs) located in whatever country to other 'non- recharge sims'. I can't find any resource - documentation, tutorial, forum discussion, programming language etc. Where should I start? What materials, etc, are out there? Is there any open-source project I could refer to? More precisely- which package and methods of which language should I use?

I tend to believe that developing mobile applications in an enterprise environment is best suited by developing intranet web applications. That said I have been asked to think about whether there are specific enterprise applications that could only be accomplished or would be more successful as native applications. I am curious as to what the Stack Overflow community thinks.

I am developing a few mobile apps for different platforms including Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android and Symbian S60.I want my mobile apps to have the capability of checking for updates before starting and in case a new version is available, prompt the user to upgrade. Moreover in certain cases (like security patches), the user must be forced to update or the app won't work.Surely I can cook some code to achieve the task but I was wondering if there are already existing framework to serve the purpose so that I don't have to re-invent the wheel and test all over?

I normally frequent the Nexus One forum, but have had to crawl my way out from there to come ask the wider Android community a question.
I'm about to apply for a mobile application development role and was wondering if any of you guys knew an approximate number of Android users (or point me in the direction of somewhere that might have the info). I was about to write something along the lines of the Android market allowing developers to easily (hum, that's an opinion there! ) share their creations with <insert amount here> Android users around the world, but realized I had no idea.

I've talked to a lot of people recently who say they are expecting to stop writing native mobile apps and start writing web apps once HTML5 gets more fully baked in mobile OSs. I just finished my first HTML5 deep dive, and I'm not yet convinced.
Will HTML5 work as a replacement development platform for native apps, or are there certain things that require targeting the native runtime?

Most of the time I write code for embedded modules or small programs on my computer to analyze data that said code generates. Now I've been asked to prototype a mobile application to analyze/display that data instead.I have no (6-year old CS101) experience with either of the popular languages (Obj-C/Java?), let alone with any of the APIs/libraries available on the 4-5 popular mobile OSs, so I'm more or less at square one.Adapting the embedded hardware to talk to a phone is fairly straightforward, just add a Bluetooth module that I can configure to emulate a serial port (using SPP profile), but I don't know where to start on the other side. What sort of mobile OS/device should I target for ease/speed of developing a Bluetooth serial port profile (SPP) application from having equal (no) experience on them all?

I'm a programmer looking to play in the mobile world. The application I'd like to play with would support my musical hobbies. I suspect a mobile phone with a music player could easily be programmed to support a classical musicians practice sessions. Access to media player APIs without the need to open external apps or do clunky things with files.Adequate access to playback API to create specific notes and beat patterns. As a hobby application, this should not require expensive tooling.I can switch to a new phone to use the application. Bonus points for something that easily ports to a netbook.I will admit I new to the world of sexy phones. I currently use an obsolete voice device with text messaging. I won't revealing my current flavor of programming because learning a new platform is just fine.

I need to write an Android application that allows a user to connect to multiple social networking sites like MySpace, LinkedIn, FaceBook etc. and fetch friends list.
I know that most of these applications have Java libraries or functionalities exposed as REST based WebServices. But since there is a lot of variety and disparity in the ways that these libaries are written or service that can be consumed, is there any single, integrated service or middleware component that I can use to provide a unified interface in my mobile application?

I'm working on a mobile web application and all phones don't casue any trouble with the soft keyboard and input fields, but Android does (tested on a HTC One).
Here's the problem:I've got a log in page with a log in form. When and input is selected, the soft keyboard appears. The soft keyboard kicks some elements up, which causes the lay out of the page to break. On iOS and Windows Phone, the soft keyboard kicks the whole page, so basically the DOM or body up to make room for the soft keyboard. The Android browser, however, lets the body stay where it is and only kicks some elements up, which causes the lay out to break.
Normal page:
When input is selected:
What the desired effect is (achieved on iOS and Windows Phone):
I haven't used any position fixed, only absolute on the page wrapper, header and header logo.
