Jul 23, 2010My market app has disappeared! I'm running plainjane2.1 and it was there and functioning properly the night b4. I did a nand backup last night and when I restored, it was gone. I've tried searching but can't seem to find a solution. Am I stuck having to re flash and wipe my data or is there a fix?

Sep 19, 2010Does anyone know why all my SMS and MMS messages disappeared? Or has anyone seen this before? Or maybe how I can get them back? I didn't delete any of them, and my settings are set to never automatically delete. I wasn't even doing anything with my phone when it happened.

May 17, 2010Running a a droid with the stock 2.2. Sat night they all disappeared as did any call history. Tried importing from SD card and they would not sync. When I try the names flash with a progress bar saying that its syncing... but they never show up in my contacts list. Also tried importing from my gmail account and that was useless too.

Mar 4, 2010Somehow I am missing the really nice music widget that shows the album graphics. Not sure where I lost it, but I want it back! I installe several things (pancake, and 2.1 icons (which I got rid of)) but the music widget is gone... all that's left is a minimal music widget.

Motorola Milestone :: Contacts Disappeared - Cannot Add Google Account Back
Oct 23, 2010I have a UK Motorola Milestone running Android 2.1-update 1.
Yesterday all my contacts and my google accounts, to which they were synchronised, disappeared. Just like that, out of the blue.
I tried to add the google account again, but I keep getting a "can't establish reliable data connection" error. It is not a network access issue because internet and email (imap, not gmail) work fine, plus I tried with two different SIMs and with Wi-Fi, but to no avail.
I read about people deleting some files from their rooted Android and/or hard resetting their phones, but these fixes don't seem to always work and I'd rather try something else first.
I must say that, even though I like Android, I am getting very annoyed at how unreliable and buggy it has proven compared to my iphone and blackberry. Is it too much to ask to have a phone that doesn't reboot every other minute and that doesn't delete your contacts?

Sep 11, 2010I noticed today that the "downloads" section within Market no longer shows any of the free apps that I downloaded-only the two apps that I paid for are shown. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to bring this list back? A soft reset did not help.

Mar 10, 2010Since 9:00am on March, 10, the ratings for one of my apps has DECREASED by 6, from 45 ratings down to 39. What would the cause of this be? Is this a sign of another breakage of the market stats/ ratings? I have a question regarding this posted at the blackhole that is the Market Forum, but have of course not heard a thing. Apr 29, 2010I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

Jun 14, 2010Would like to know, from someone who has tried it, if changing an Application's title in the Developer Console has any affect on the applications Ratings or Number of download statistics. In other words, will I lose anything?
My impression is no, but I don't recall if documentation says that explicitly or if its just implied. Would like to know from someone who has tried it. I don't want to experiment with my app.
Steps to change Title. Go to Developer Console->click link for the app->Look for Listing Details-> Change the Title ->click Save

Nov 10, 2010Totalcare is back on Android Market.The software basically is a hidden app that once installed and activated, runs a service at background which can't be stopped. The service will listen for SMS' from either of 2 control phones set during the activation procedure and will invoke methods accordingly. SMS commands are quite simple and is followed by a 5-Digit PIN Code which is set during the activation method. The software is free for testing purpose. Its still in beta state and we're quite sure its stable. We've tested the product several times on multiple devices without any failure or bug. We've tried using the latest API's of android so that it can be compatible with the latest devices. The software won't work below API Level 4 (Android 1.6). I haven't tested it on 1.6 either since i've only 2.1 available here. Please try it and let me know if it works.The app can be used as a remote mobile management or anti-theft.Very useful in certain situations, like if you drop your phone somewhere, you can find it using the location fetching features. Maybe you left your phone somewhere in silent mode, just send an sms to make it sound loud and find your phone. several such other features.
