Aug 21, 2010Verizon convinced me to do a hard reset. Now i cant update any of my apps until the App market is running again.Anyone got a time?

HTC Desire :: Market Errors - Market Running Very Slow
May 1, 2010Massive problems with the market im experiencing, iv had my desire for 3 weeks, and no problems at all, UNTILL NOW, whats going on?
I go to search in the market, and type in dialer, it brings up all the customisable dialer choices, if i choose ANY of them, i go to pay, and everytime i get the error message "A server error has occurred,retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen" but it is only on the dialer packages.i can buy and download anything else fine,
Can someone test this out for me?
Iv reset my phone 3 times, and its the same thing evertime, WHATS GOING ON?
Also the market is running VERY SLOW on my phone.
HTC Droid Eris :: Market Fix Changed My Market Icon Back To Original
Apr 29, 2010I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

Apr 22, 2010I'm running the emulator using the dev phone system images of 1.6 to download paid apps from the market to use on my htc desire in sweden. Why? because the market for paid apps isn't available here. The apps in question aren't available on slideme etc either so this is my last resort. One problem arised: An app I downloaded works for 2.1 and desire, but when I download it from the market with the emulator with 1.6 I get an older "legacy" version of the app that isn't compatible with 2.1. Due to this I wonder if there is any hackie crackie crazy way of getting a 2.1 system image onto the emulator or in any other way fooling the android market app or whatever to download apps as if the emulator phone was 2.1?

Jul 1, 2010I am having a problem with this app. I may use it in the future, so I don't want to delete it. But it keeps randomly popping up. When I go into my running applications, 8 out of 10 times it is running. I shut it down, and it keeps popping back up. How can I stop it from running on its own? I only want it to run if I manually click on it. Went into application settings and can find nothing to toggle it off with. This happens on a bunch of applications, but Amazon MP3 is the most frequent.

Jun 7, 2010Took my EVO out of my pocket when I landed this morning and noticed that I have a horizontal scratch running across the back camera lens. Not even sure where it came from or when it happened. Seems like it'd be way to easy to do though considering the phone rests on the camera lens when you place it on a flat surface. I know this happens to all new toys - but I didn't even make it a week.

The service will listen for SMS' from either of 2 control phones set during the activation procedure and will invoke methods accordingly. SMS commands are quite simple and is followed by a 5-Digit PIN Code which is set during the activation method. The software is free for testing purpose. Its still in beta state and we're quite sure its stable. We've tested the product several times on multiple devices without any failure or bug. We've tried using the latest API's of android so that it can be compatible with the latest devices. The software won't work below API Level 4 (Android 1.6). I haven't tested it on 1.6 either since i've only 2.1 available here. Please try it and let me know if it works.The app can be used as a remote mobile management or anti-theft.Very useful in certain situations, like if you drop your phone somewhere, you can find it using the location fetching features. Maybe you left your phone somewhere in silent mode, just send an sms to make it sound loud and find your phone. several such other features.

Oct 19, 2010My gmail app suddenly stopped working. i have background and auto sync on. contacts and calendar syncing without any issue. mail is the only problem. i uninstalled ADW launcher which i updated right before this problem and all related apps for that launcher from the phone. i rebooted the phone (several methods including holding down power and volume buttons down, power off and battery out) but the problem still persists. I am unable to see the gmail app in the android marketplace from my phone. Otherwise, i will uninstall the one in my phone and reinstall the same. Another crazy thing is..when i open manage applications under settings, i dont see gmail app there. i have to app on my tray but not found in the applications list.what is going on?

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
Android :: Running Application On Emulator Running Older SDK
Jun 28, 2010I have a project that builds against Android v2.1 . I can run it fine on a phone running 1.5 but when I try to launch it with an emulator running 1.5, the emulator doesn't show up on the list of available AVDs. I have the <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3"/> tag in my manifest but it doesn't make a difference.
