I am using K-9 Mail and have 12 email accounts in it. I need to delete 7 of the accounts as I am now ceasing a lot of my email addresses. I have spent ages searching within K-9 (Android) on my HTC Desire, but cannot find any way to delete the accounts.

In my haste I linked a google email account to my phone which I'd rather wasn't linked to it. I've now created a new google email account which I want to be my main email account, however when I try to remove the old one I'm told that I need to reset factory settings, which I'd rather not do.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a POP mail account pretty standard with my ISP. My home PC is where I keep those mails so when I load up Outlook and download the mails, the mails are no longer on the server. On my previous WinMo device, whilst I was away from my home PC, it would download mails and keep them on my device UNTIL I got home, opened Outlook and downloaded mails, and then, on my device the next sync would clear those mails from the device. Nice and neat. Since moving to Android recently, a niggling thing for me has been that no matter what I do from my home PC, mails never seem to disappear from my device until the number of retention days is met. I've looked at the settings over and over and can't see anything to lead me to replicating how it worked on my WinMo device. I have no need to keep emails on my device once they're downloaded at home, am I missing something or is this just the way it is? I know iPhone does it this way also and it really annoyed me for the very short time I had one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just entering my hotmail account details using the settings provided by a member here and it verifies nicely. When I enter the Mail app however it says that the "account for this widget has been deleted. Would you like to switch to another account?" When I select Yes it just leads me back to my account Inbox - the same account it claims was deleted This account was created using the Manual IMAP option.
Earlier today when I just put my details in normally, without selecting Manual, it was working okay - although the sync was a problem. At least, however, it had a notification icon on the App when I got a new email. But strangely after I wait a few minutes going back to that account inbox, it does show my emails. What can I do to stop this?

Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.
Starting the other day I stopped getting emails for my yahoo account. When I tried to delete the account I got an error saying invalid status.

I have one Exchange account for work and one Pop account (yahoo). Both times I've gone to access my email and the accounts were just gone (my gmail account however remained in tact). I have to go and add them in again and adding Yahoo as a Pop account is no picnic. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening or if that's even possible?

At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I have a problem with the default email client disappearing received emails. Just now, I saw two older mails in the inbox, then a few minutes later, a couple new spam messages arrived, and the others were gone!
It appears that it clears the inbox whenever new mail arrives. This combined with the fact that it deletes the mail on the server (No option to disable this), makes for a big problem.. It may be that it only deletes mail that's been read already.. Not sure, need to test.
I got my IMAP email up and running and it syncs just fine. When I delete emails on the phone, they disappear....only to reappear the next time the phone syncs. What setting have I got wrong? I copied each setting exactly from my old phone (which worked just fine this way).

If that didn't make sense, basically when I go to shoot an email on my hero, as I'm typing who I'm sending it to, it shows a list of everyone that I've emailed starting with whatever letter I'm pressing, normally and most of the time that's awesome, but sometimes, like the situation I stated above it's a big pain in the arse.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased a Samsung Nexus S. The stock email client (not the GMail app), using POP3 will delete mails once they have been downloaded, or when I next sync. Occasionally it will not delete all mails, just some. The option to delete from the server is not ticked and no other clients are pulling from the server, so its not the case that another app is deleting them. To confirm, emails aren't being deleted after say 10 days, they are being deleted within minutes, and I'm only downloading a handful of mails.
