Samsung Behold 2 :: Yahoo Email Using Email App And Free Yahoo Account Works
Mar 6, 2010I remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
HTC Desire :: Deleting Old One Email Account
Apr 29, 2010In my haste I linked a google email account to my phone which I'd rather wasn't linked to it. I've now created a new google email account which I want to be my main email account, however when I try to remove the old one I'm told that I need to reset factory settings, which I'd rather not do.

Aug 5, 2010Installed 1.6 w/o Twiz because the tweaked 1.6 made my BH2 stop working as a phone... runs good now, except the OEM email app is gone and now I can't get into Hotmail or my second gmail account. Can anyone help me out by posting the .apk file for the OEM email client?

Apr 3, 2010Has anyone tried the BH2 stock email app on BH_Man's Galaxy 1.6 ROM? I'm curious if it works because it synced so well to my work email, while the Galaxy stock email does not. I'm willing to try it out if anyone has the apk. I forgot to grab it before I flashed the rom and I don't want to have to re-flash to TouchWiz, grab it, and re-flash back to 1.6, especially if doesn't even work.
Also, if anyone's interested, here's a link to an Exchange email app that I got to work on the 1.6 rom, but it's not as feature rich. Exchange ActiveSync on your G1! | Nexeo.net. Pre-apologies if anyone has a problem with providing a system apk. But I did pay like $250 for this phone. Please just PM me then.

Mar 4, 2010First, I'm sure some or all of these have been discussed in some way somewhere, but i've been searching and just haven't found any clear answers (probably because i'm a bad "searcher" not because they are not there)I COULD REALLY USE SOME UP TO DATE INFO ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: I just bought a Behold II and have been thoroughly frustrated by the following, any help is greatly appreciated:
1. Gmail - Like a lot of people I have several gmail accounts and use all of them very regularly for various reasons (business, personal, little league, etc.) With my blackberry and gmail app i was able to easily log in and out of all these accounts and stay on top of everything. Now I appear to be stuck with the first account i logged into/setup with no means of logging out and getting into another. I understand (now) that much of the OS revolves around syncing everything for productivity, but this is a REALLY BIG problem for me. If I can only use one email account this phone is definitely going back immediately. Is there a means of doing this? 1a. I really don't like the idea of anybody being able to pick up my phone and be able to immediately go through my email. If i can't log out how can i at least protect the email from access by others without having to set a password or sequence EVERY time i pick up and use the phone?
2. Without asking me, after logging into the afore mentioned gmail account the phone took all the contact information from that account and loaded it into CONTACTS. Because it's an account that i use for general use there was a lot of spam in there and various other email addresses that i don't care about and it grabbed them ALL - EVERYTHING. So now i have thousands of contacts that are just email addresses for every thing and everybody that i've ever communicated with over that email account. How can i get rid of all of these and make sure this doesn't happen again.
3. I had all my contancts on my blackberry stored on my SIM card, which is where i'd like them to stay, but it appears that contacts stored to SIM can only have one phone number attached to them so i can't add additional information like additional phone numbers, email addresses, notes, bday information, etc. Is this correct? do i have to copy all of these to the phone memory in order to use these contacts properly and take advantage of all the features? Again, i'm very sorry if i'm rehashing old wounds here, i'm just so thoroughly frustrated and since i run my business from this phone it's hurting me tremendously right now. If i need to return this and go back to blackberry i need to do it soon so i can get back to being productive.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Way To MMS Picture / Video Sending To Email Contacts?
Aug 11, 2010Can someone guide me to what is the best way to send picture/video to an email contact? I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.

Aug 16, 2010I've had my Captivate since the 19th of July and have been pretty happy with it but today my email accounts disappeared from my phone.I've been using the email app that came with the phone without issues but today my personal gmail and my work exchange accounts vanished. I noticed I hadn't received a new email notification in several hours so I went to check my email it prompted me to setup an email account. Anyone else have this happen? I only have 2 days to return my Captivate, it's been a good phone so far but I cant afford to lose my email accounts for no apparent reason again. I haven't installed any new apps or made any changes to the phone.Coming from the Blackberry world I took it for granted that email just worked flawlessly.

I clicked on the email icon on the home screen, and it instantly brought me to a screen that asks me to enter my email address and account password. "You can configure email for most accounts in a few steps," it says. Lies! I've entered my info at least ten times now, double-checked every time, and every time it tells me that either my username or password are incorrect. I promise you this is not the case. I'm trying to configure a Yahoo account.
I tried to add the account manually and the phone says it can't connect to the server.

I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?

Aug 3, 2010I have a POP mail account pretty standard with my ISP. My home PC is where I keep those mails so when I load up Outlook and download the mails, the mails are no longer on the server. On my previous WinMo device, whilst I was away from my home PC, it would download mails and keep them on my device UNTIL I got home, opened Outlook and downloaded mails, and then, on my device the next sync would clear those mails from the device. Nice and neat. Since moving to Android recently, a niggling thing for me has been that no matter what I do from my home PC, mails never seem to disappear from my device until the number of retention days is met. I've looked at the settings over and over and can't see anything to lead me to replicating how it worked on my WinMo device. I have no need to keep emails on my device once they're downloaded at home, am I missing something or is this just the way it is? I know iPhone does it this way also and it really annoyed me for the very short time I had one.

Dec 7, 2009I was just entering my hotmail account details using the settings provided by a member here and it verifies nicely. When I enter the Mail app however it says that the "account for this widget has been deleted. Would you like to switch to another account?" When I select Yes it just leads me back to my account Inbox - the same account it claims was deleted This account was created using the Manual IMAP option.
Earlier today when I just put my details in normally, without selecting Manual, it was working okay - although the sync was a problem. At least, however, it had a notification icon on the App when I got a new email. But strangely after I wait a few minutes going back to that account inbox, it does show my emails. What can I do to stop this?
