How can I delete my emails on my gmail account on my phone without deleting them on my inbox on my computer If i close the background data it does not notify me of incoming mail. I have to refresh to check for messages.

Previously when I would receive emails (Gmail app) on my Eris and view/delete them they would still be there when I logged in on my PC to view and then finally delete them from the Gmail page. This morning I went through all the emails on my Eris and deleted them but when I logged in to my PC they were all in the trash.

Now when I open my gmail, I need to open each email individually in order to delete it. Is there a way to change this?
View 6 Replies View Related When I set my phone up it loaded every singe contact from my GMAIL contacts onto my phone. I don't necessarily want all of these clogging up my phone, but when I go to delete them from my phone they also get deleted from my contact list in GMAIL. Also the same with emails. If I delete them on my phone, they get removed from GMAIL inbox.
My old blackberry would give the an option of "delete from phone" or "delete from phone AND gmail".

It takes all the emails from my home account as well as showing emails from my new gmail address. However, when it takes emails from my home account it doesn't leave a copy in that account. I like gmail dragging in emails from my home account but I also like having the emails in my home account too. I have tried to find the answer on both gmail and my home account settings but can't get to the bottom of it. Does anyone know how to drag emails into my gmail account but keep a copy in the original account?

When i go to delete emails in my gmail inbox on my phone they delete off the phone, but not in my actual gmail inbox online. Because when i delete the emails off my phone the inbox counter still reads all those emails that are still there. Well when i go online to delete them it goes back to normal. Its a windows based hd2 running android so the correct section was a little confusing. Also I didn't flash it and of course the person that did isn't around compounding the issue. I need to maintain the flash but if I can't I can't .

2. deleting the account ( I get an error saying, " This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults").
3. Going in and clearing "google apps" which doesn't exist.
I think I registered my Gmail account twice now, once I turned the phone activated and the other time when I entered in email accounts. how to delete it from the general mail tab (where I have my hotmail accounts) and just leave the general GMAIL tab alone (the one you automatically do when you register the phone)?

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.
