I got my IMAP email up and running and it syncs just fine. When I delete emails on the phone, they disappear....only to reappear the next time the phone syncs. What setting have I got wrong? I copied each setting exactly from my old phone (which worked just fine this way).

when I delete it from my phone? I have my work email on my phone and when I delete the emails on the phone it does NOT delete on my account, but when I receive my AOL emails on my phone, everytime I delete on the phone it deletes on the main account. How can I stop that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased a Samsung Nexus S. The stock email client (not the GMail app), using POP3 will delete mails once they have been downloaded, or when I next sync. Occasionally it will not delete all mails, just some. The option to delete from the server is not ticked and no other clients are pulling from the server, so its not the case that another app is deleting them. To confirm, emails aren't being deleted after say 10 days, they are being deleted within minutes, and I'm only downloading a handful of mails.

But i can't figure out how to delete g. maps or google+ on my nexus. & every time i disable them they start running again. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the default email client disappearing received emails. Just now, I saw two older mails in the inbox, then a few minutes later, a couple new spam messages arrived, and the others were gone!
It appears that it clears the inbox whenever new mail arrives. This combined with the fact that it deletes the mail on the server (No option to disable this), makes for a big problem.. It may be that it only deletes mail that's been read already.. Not sure, need to test.
why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

If that didn't make sense, basically when I go to shoot an email on my hero, as I'm typing who I'm sending it to, it shows a list of everyone that I've emailed starting with whatever letter I'm pressing, normally and most of the time that's awesome, but sometimes, like the situation I stated above it's a big pain in the arse.
Has anyone else had an issue with the Droid completely eliminating email accounts? This has happened to me twice now and it's such a pain in the butt. I have one Exchange account for work and one Pop account (yahoo). Both times I've gone to access my email and the accounts were just gone (my gmail account however remained in tact). I have to go and add them in again and adding Yahoo as a Pop account is no picnic. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening or if that's even possible?

I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.

Ever since i updated the software, two weeks ago, my phone keeps telling me that I have a new email (outlook) even though I don't! The phone vibrates as if I actually get a new email, but then it turns out that one of the already read emails suddenly is unread and "new". This happens every 10 minutes, so it's super frustrating. I am not using any specific app, just the one email-app that came with the phone.
I have a rooted Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2. My husband recently upgraded his unrooted S3 to 4.3 and I'm super jealous of his stock email app. I tried copying the apk from his phone to mine, but it didn't work.
A few days ago I successfully updated the email app on my phone to the version from 4.4, and I thought installing 4.3 would be as simple as renaming the old files and copying the new apks. But the 4.3 version isn't working. I tried with and without the corresponding odex files, renaming the apk from SecEmail_J.apk to email.apk, but nothing I've tried works. When I click on the email apk in Root Explorer, I tried to install, but it says problem parsing. I copied SecEmail_J.apk, SecEmail_J.odex, SecExchange.apk, and SecExchange.odex, rebooted, no stock email app. Then I tried just the two apks, rebooted, no stock email.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace which recently went on Gingerbread.
Now, I have been trying to set up my Yahoo email on the phone. If I go to "Email"; I get an option to only download emails from Inbox, Drafts and Sent Items.
I have created a lot of folders in the email account so I'd like to have those on the phone as well. How do I do that.
I would rather prefer not using the Yahoo Mail App as that is very slow.
