May 24, 2010I have 2 google accounts but i need to delete 1 but the phone says I have to reset the phone for it.Is it any other way?

Sep 12, 2010I have created a new google account that i would like to replace the original one.I have synced the new account but cant seem to remove the original. I get the following message, This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults. You do that in settings, under privacy. Is there anyway to do it without resetting the phone? I dont want to reset it as i the phone is rooted, has custom ROM with over 100 apps.

Aug 3, 2010I have a POP mail account pretty standard with my ISP. My home PC is where I keep those mails so when I load up Outlook and download the mails, the mails are no longer on the server. On my previous WinMo device, whilst I was away from my home PC, it would download mails and keep them on my device UNTIL I got home, opened Outlook and downloaded mails, and then, on my device the next sync would clear those mails from the device. Nice and neat. Since moving to Android recently, a niggling thing for me has been that no matter what I do from my home PC, mails never seem to disappear from my device until the number of retention days is met. I've looked at the settings over and over and can't see anything to lead me to replicating how it worked on my WinMo device. I have no need to keep emails on my device once they're downloaded at home, am I missing something or is this just the way it is? I know iPhone does it this way also and it really annoyed me for the very short time I had one.

Sep 8, 2010I decided tonight that i was going to try and start using my google account on my desktop synced with my phone.
So...i had all of my contacts saved too the phone rather than too my google account (choosed the option to save to phone when adding a new contact initially because i was unsure how google worked)
I couldnt for the life of me see how to switch this contact over to my google account from the phone so i had to save all contacts too sim individually then had to "import from sim card" and created the new contacts under my google account. This left me with the contacts on my phone saved too google contacts and when going on a contact now in the top right hand corner it says linked and there is 2 circles with a green link between them.
Previously it just said phone and had no green link These contacts however are not showing up in google when i sign in on my desktop. Also, on my phone, when i go to menu > view (when in the people application) if i uncheck all boxes and check google (51) no contacts show up.
However if i check also the sub heading saying "Show auto Gmail contacts" then they show up :S Ive just added a new contact and clicked the option save contact too google when i initially created it. This contact does not say linked but just says google at the top and is also the only contact showing up when i just check the google box and not the sub box. Im also using jorte calender which i thought was compatible but nothing from that seems to have gone onto my desktop calendar when signed in to google?

Sep 26, 2010I am having problem synchronizing my Desire with Google Account. Either it is stuck at sync stage or says sync server is not available. I do not know if this ia problem with my phone or my google account. I use chrome and is logged into Google acount all the time. My Chrome crashed a couple of months back and I think the problem started then.

Apr 26, 2010when i first got my HTC Desire i set it up with my google account which i use for everything, gmail,calendar etc. everything worked fine until i went to the market place, i couldn't download anything, it just kept saying download failed please try again this really annoyed me so i did factory reset twice but still the same problem. so the i reset again and in setup this time i choose to make a new google account instead of using my current one, and when it was all done, yup you guessed it, the market place worked! anyone any ideas why this is like this and why i couldnt use my original account?

I do have internet connectivity either on 3G or wifi. I can browse, use weather, Ross and news etc. just when I go in menu-settings-sync and press sync ... nothing happens

Aug 20, 2010I've got my desire today and am already frustrated because there's so many things needing to be sorted on it! I've started from scratch with the 7 welcome screens and need to build those up (any tips much appreciated 4 example how to get the wi-fi switch etc etc back)
As for syncing my contacts Facebook has mucked everything up. Any chance i can stop info being taken from facebook and just importing them myself?
Also i set up a google account but had to delete it immediately (on my pc due to the email address being entered wrong) Now I've set up a new one how the hell do i change it on the phone.My phone still thinks I'm using the one I've deleted.
HTC Desire :: Sync Phone Contacts BACK To Google Account
Apr 8, 2010I have searched around on this and other forums, looking for the answer to a question that has been bugging me since before the weekend.I got the HTC desire on friday (love the phone!) and have got to the point where most of the things are set up how I want. I have used HTC sync to import my contacts from Outlook where they were already set up how I wanted. However I can't seem to be able to import these contacts back up to my Google account though. I have turned on all the sync settings and checked these, but nothing seems to work.I tried creating a dummy contact in my google account and prompted a sync from my phone which pulled this down ok. So this would indicate that the sync seems to work one way, but wont pull my contacts back up the other.I don't really want to re-enter all my contacts into my Google account to get the sync working properly plus I am assuming this will create a duplicate of every contact already on my phone.

Dec 7, 2009I was just entering my hotmail account details using the settings provided by a member here and it verifies nicely. When I enter the Mail app however it says that the "account for this widget has been deleted. Would you like to switch to another account?" When I select Yes it just leads me back to my account Inbox - the same account it claims was deleted This account was created using the Manual IMAP option.
Earlier today when I just put my details in normally, without selecting Manual, it was working okay - although the sync was a problem. At least, however, it had a notification icon on the App when I got a new email. But strangely after I wait a few minutes going back to that account inbox, it does show my emails. What can I do to stop this?
