I've got an app that I would like to install without having an icon show up in the application tray.If I don't specify an icon in my manifest, Android still plops a default icon in the tray.How do I prevent this?

I have Go Launcher installed and would like to change the default icon for an app in the tray. When I press on the icon now it gives me the choice to replace it with a custom icon and that is what I would like to do. I actually would like to use the icon for the default calendar (on my Bionic) for the icon for this app but I can not seem to locate the calendar icon.
how I can locate this icon for use or if not possible then suggest other method to show a calendar as the icon.
I'm using Google Voice for my voice mail. A day or so ago the Voice Mail icon appeared on the app tray and won't go away. When I dial the voice mail all I get is my message. Is there anyway to reset/clear this?

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.
How do you delete apps out of the Application Tray?

View 1 Replies View Relatedtoday a strange icon started to show up in the notification area. It has no notification attached to it, restarting the device doesn't make it go away and neither am I aware of any app installed that could have caused this. Due to the resemblance the icon bears to the ICS logo, I thought it might be some system-based event (something like an android anniversary date or whatnot), yet it persisted through GMT midnight, which makes it seems less likely then it did when I found out. I tried an image-based search for any images and screenshots containing the said icon, but came out empty-handed. As Henzman said, it's the new icon of the Power Toggles app.

For some reason, the icon shows up, but not the title text. It's really weird. For a split second you see the title text, but then it disappears and only the icon shows in the title.

understanding why in my emulator, i can * in my settings-> manage application, see an entry for an application there * but i cant' find the icon for launching that in All Application. how can I make my application launches on the emulator?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI guess I have my first major problem with the phone that I can't seem to figure out. As of last night, the battery icon on the top right of the screen has been showing a "?" symbol instead of the usual colored meter.
I tried charging it and the symbol doesn't change it either. Also, it does not seem to charge. I tried turning my phone on and off...and it doesn't do anything.
I saw evo screen shot had stock battery icon shows % of power left. I know few battery apps show that, but they are widgets, not changing stock battery icon. Can anyone tell me which app is that?

I'm talking about the one that came stock on the DI. Now I'm using a DIII.
After the update, the factory-installed Voicemail icon was showing that "Couldn't load widget" message. I removed and replace it without a problem. This morning, I got a voice message and now it doesn't show the new message count in the icon.
Not a big deal, but I guess that means they updated that app (current version is V.5.1.0.30). I was hoping they would at least improve the recording quality by providing options for raising the recording frequency so it doesn't sound so "tinny".
We have 10 mp4 files, total size is about 24MB. We put all in RAW folder and tried to run, but its showing "insufficient storage". What is the solution for this, please guide me in this ?? Whether we can put these files in SDCard or anywhere else ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Folder Organizer Lite on my Desire in order to be able to change the icons on my home screen. It worked like a charm, but now I have a question. I am able to edit the name of the icons, for example I have changed Advanced Task Killer to ATK, but I would like to have the option to not have any text at all. When I go to alter the text as usual and just delete the text, nothing changes. So does anyone out there know how to completely remove text from underneath icons?

But I just discovered that whenever I try to add another call when I am in a call, it promps me to complete the action using. 1. my app 2. The normal phone And when I click on my app, it just opens my app. I do not understand what is causing this and do not want my app to be shown in that list.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need help finding the right email app.The default one is horrible. The problem I am having is that it doesn't differentiate new emails from old. Every time I open the inbox in any of my email accounts, it always shows all emails as new. I don't know which one's I read or not. It's not bad if it takes me directly to the email, but when I have emails for multiple inboxes, I don't know which ones have the new email. I called tmobile tech support and was told that unless I delete the read emails from the server, the phone will keep reloading them as new. On my old phone, the messages I read where marked as read and stayed that way. When I got a new email, it was clear which one it was because it was highlighted.
Also, I've just switched to the g1 from a business phone, so I'm really new to this still. The couple things that I would like to figure out how to do is, first, I would like to know how I can search my contacts both by name or business. I've transfered the contact info from outlook to the g1 and so I have both name and business information. However, when I search using the keyboard, I can only search by name. If I put in the name of the company, it doesn't show up. Also, is it possible to have both shown. On my old phone when searched for either the person name or business name, the result showed both. For example, if I searched for lauren or Unico, it would show up as Lauren with Unico below it. Also, this way if I have more than one lauren, I can distinguish between them without having to click through each one.
Secondly, is it possible to set up "speed dial" function. Basically, if I pull up the dialer and press 2 for like 2 seconds it will. Third, I used to have my phone setup that I would have what ever my next appointment was, it would show on the home screen. Is that possible with this phone. Is it possible to allocate certain space on the home screen to preview upcoming appointments.
I have uploaded an application in Android market. But when I search for the app the app do not appear in the autocomplete box which appears below the search box. For example, if I type "h" in the search box the autocomplete box will have the applications with "h". But in my case I need to type the complete name of the application.
