View 1 RepliesCan anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.
View 30 Replies View RelatedGot a replacement Droid Incredible the other day and I've been working on getting it set up like my previous phone, with the exception of random restarts.Anyway, I updated Google Maps and for some reason I'm not getting the Navigation app icon like I used to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEx IPhone user had one since the first one, but was waiting for Android to get better and now it has! Anyhow has anyone know why I have not program icon for navigation, the only way I get it is to search for it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a separate Navigation app icon? My Evo did, but my Epic does not. I can go into Maps and hope dearly that my GPS is working and get navigation through there, but I'd really like a separate icon for it. Is this the same with everyone else?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my Samsung Galaxy S3, a peculiar icon has appeared in the navigation bar (see the top-left corner in the image below):
It seemed to have appeared at about the time I put in my SD card, but removing my SD card (and restarting) has not shooed the icon away. Furthermore, the icon seems to prevent any other icons being shown (i.e. I am forced to pull down the bar when checking for new notifications).
There is no explanation for the icon in the notification window, and clearing the notifications does nothing.
I tried using Google Goggles on a cropped screenshot of the icon but no images were returned. what the icon represents and how it may be removed?
I have an ally and i just had to get a new one because my old one was re-booting. anyway, I had the google navigation beta shortcut on my home page on my last phone and i cant find it now. its the blue arrow. i have re-booted to see if it shows up, nothing. i have searched the market for "google maps" and cant find it. can i do a manual update?

View 1 Replies View Relatedso apprently there is this great new game called backbreaker football on the android market. However, for some reason it does not show up in my market, or with a search. It IS showing up for other people. The best i can figure is that these people have motodroids, and i have the incredilble. Would this make a difference? they are both on 2.1.
so, i was hoping we could do a little test to show that i am indeed not crazy, as i am now thinking i am. Someone else with an incredible and someone with a droid doing a search and posting if they find it?!
I've got an app that I would like to install without having an icon show up in the application tray.If I don't specify an icon in my manifest, Android still plops a default icon in the tray.How do I prevent this?

Everything I found is for a specific ROM (I have XTRROM3) and looks really complicated.
My phone is showing the low memory icon and it's really annoying, so I'd like to get this figured out.
Is there an app that puts the battery percentage in our battery icon?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a custom titlebar in my app that looks like this (essentially):
For some reason, the icon shows up, but not the title text. It's really weird. For a split second you see the title text, but then it disappears and only the icon shows in the title.
My code is as follows:
==========================window_title.xml======== ==================
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
androidrientation="horizontal"
android:layout_width="60px"
android:layout_height="60dip"
android:gravity="center_vertical"
[code]....
I guess I have my first major problem with the phone that I can't seem to figure out. As of last night, the battery icon on the top right of the screen has been showing a "?" symbol instead of the usual colored meter.
I tried charging it and the symbol doesn't change it either. Also, it does not seem to charge. I tried turning my phone on and off...and it doesn't do anything.
I saw evo screen shot had stock battery icon shows % of power left. I know few battery apps show that, but they are widgets, not changing stock battery icon. Can anyone tell me which app is that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAssuming that old Icon design guidelines are not valid anymore, where can we find information about the guidelines to follow to design "new-styled" 2.X launcher icons?Should applications provide icons for both icon styles if they work for both versions?
View 1 Replies View Relatedtoday a strange icon started to show up in the notification area. It has no notification attached to it, restarting the device doesn't make it go away and neither am I aware of any app installed that could have caused this. Due to the resemblance the icon bears to the ICS logo, I thought it might be some system-based event (something like an android anniversary date or whatnot), yet it persisted through GMT midnight, which makes it seems less likely then it did when I found out. I tried an image-based search for any images and screenshots containing the said icon, but came out empty-handed. As Henzman said, it's the new icon of the Power Toggles app.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI hate posting a query about something so seemingly simple. I googled around and can't find a duplication of the icon in the notification area of my new (since January) Eris running 1.5 stock.
I'll describe it: it in most ways resembles a little musical note, perhaps an eighth-note, but with a diagonal slash through it (not in a circle as the "no" sign).
Nothing running in the background, music-wise. On page 47 of the user guide/manual is a list of all stock icons; it is not there. No new apps have been installed for weeks.Any ideas as to what it could be?
After the update, the factory-installed Voicemail icon was showing that "Couldn't load widget" message. I removed and replace it without a problem. This morning, I got a voice message and now it doesn't show the new message count in the icon.
Not a big deal, but I guess that means they updated that app (current version is V.5.1.0.30). I was hoping they would at least improve the recording quality by providing options for raising the recording frequency so it doesn't sound so "tinny".
I am using folder organizer which I love, but the stock icons it comes with leave much to be desired.I have been through the market and can't find any decent high resolution icon packs. I would even be happy with just stock android icons. Is there a way to use just the icons from themes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my vibrant a couple weeks ago and its been awesome. Last night, I was downloading apps... after messing with Extended Controls, I noticed that my "edge" icon wasn't showing up. I tried switching my phone to 3g, and that icon didn't work either. I can make phone calls and stuff, but I can only use the Internet if I have my wifi on now.

I've searched and cannot find this topic. Does anyone know how to get Google Navigation to enter "Car Dock Mode"?It's mentioned on google's site. Is it for the Droid only at this point or other "dock aware" phones? Google Maps Navigation for mobile
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a file browser to locate the APK, it installs successful and I can run it OK (when clicking "run" after install completes) However, if I then exit the application, I'm unable to see a launcher for it on my apps menu (where I would expect it, like other apps I've created) At the moment, every time I want to run the app, I first have to re-install it so I can access it, surely there must be a better way?
