View 13 Replies View Relatedtoday a strange icon started to show up in the notification area. It has no notification attached to it, restarting the device doesn't make it go away and neither am I aware of any app installed that could have caused this. Due to the resemblance the icon bears to the ICS logo, I thought it might be some system-based event (something like an android anniversary date or whatnot), yet it persisted through GMT midnight, which makes it seems less likely then it did when I found out. I tried an image-based search for any images and screenshots containing the said icon, but came out empty-handed. As Henzman said, it's the new icon of the Power Toggles app.

Everything I found is for a specific ROM (I have XTRROM3) and looks really complicated.
My phone is showing the low memory icon and it's really annoying, so I'd like to get this figured out.
Is there an app that puts the battery percentage in our battery icon?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a custom titlebar in my app that looks like this (essentially):
For some reason, the icon shows up, but not the title text. It's really weird. For a split second you see the title text, but then it disappears and only the icon shows in the title.
My code is as follows:
==========================window_title.xml======== ==================
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
androidrientation="horizontal"
android:layout_width="60px"
android:layout_height="60dip"
android:gravity="center_vertical"
[code]....
I guess I have my first major problem with the phone that I can't seem to figure out. As of last night, the battery icon on the top right of the screen has been showing a "?" symbol instead of the usual colored meter.
I tried charging it and the symbol doesn't change it either. Also, it does not seem to charge. I tried turning my phone on and off...and it doesn't do anything.
I saw evo screen shot had stock battery icon shows % of power left. I know few battery apps show that, but they are widgets, not changing stock battery icon. Can anyone tell me which app is that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the update, the factory-installed Voicemail icon was showing that "Couldn't load widget" message. I removed and replace it without a problem. This morning, I got a voice message and now it doesn't show the new message count in the icon.
Not a big deal, but I guess that means they updated that app (current version is V.5.1.0.30). I was hoping they would at least improve the recording quality by providing options for raising the recording frequency so it doesn't sound so "tinny".
I just updated to Froyo(2.2).Now when I search for my apps in the marketplace they are not showing up.I had the minSDK set to 1.6(4) when I developed them.Why are the not showing with Froyo?This worries me somewhat,
View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright all of a sudden last night my installed apps have all disappeared under the downloads section of my android market. It only showed google maps. When I installed a new app it showed up right below google maps but still no sign of my missing apps.What's wrong? Is android market twitchy again? A reboot of the phone doesn't.

All I've got at the moment is google skymap and tricorder, both of which are a bit too nerdy if you know what I mean.

I tried switching my phone to 3g, and that icon didn't work either. I can make phone calls and stuff, but I can only use the Internet if I have my wifi on now.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have updated all my apps earlier today and ever since there has been 6 or 7 apps that are constantly showing the status of installing in the android market. I have had to charge the battery twice today because of this. Is there anyway that I can stop these installs? I am new to android so please be gentle. I have a samsung galaxy s and so far have tried uninstalling the apps it says are installing, clearing the cache, force closing the market, switching phone off and also performing a battery pull.

If installing and hiding icons not possible, I can dynamically download these apps from my own cloud and load them at the request.
Can anyone please guide me some ideas or something?'m so lost here and just no clue at all how to start!
Did the update to 2.2 with no problems (2 phones). Notice now that under Settings / Applications / Manage Applications /Running there's a lot more info than before.
In the list of 'running apps' it shows things like Flickr, Facebook, Footprints all with the HTC Corporation underneath them. I'm assuming this is part of HTC Sense and they can not be 'turned off' since I tried to kill them (don't use Flickr nor Footprints) but see they come back on by themselves.
Under the Apps screen there's no icon for Flickr but there is one for Footprints. But, it doesn't have anything under settings that says "Don't start" or similar.
I'm just trying to make sure that the update didn't install or modify settings on some of the services/apps I turned off when I got the phone as part of my power management tweaks. It appears that some of these have indeed been reset (My Sprints, for example, completely reset to have all notifications, news, updates etc. turned on when I had turned them off previously).
So, i'm assuming that the HTC related items can not be 'turned off' unless anyone knows a way to do it.
And, just to make you aware, some of your settings most likely have been reset if you've done the update to 2.2 which will affect your battery life.
I just bought a sprint evo i downloaded a task manager but ill kill the tasts that i want to and then without even using the phone having gps and everything that can come to mind turned off, some how apps come back such as "qik" "sprint navigation" "voicemail" "peep" still some how keep showing up in my task manager. How can i get it to stay off!
View 1 Replies View Relatedso looks like a problem with 2.2 is that some apps, maybe protected ones, arnt showing up in the market since update. am sure this happened when the desire came out and htc had to do an update to sort it out.does this mean we can expect to be getting an update soon or is it something they can sort out without an update.example of some that no longer show. tapatalk and close everything 2.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy Background. Currently I am a .NET Developer working mainly with databases. Taking an interest in Android development by creating my first app. To understand it all, I am just trying to create a data collection application.
For example, collecting user information. My main activity will show a list of users and a button to add a new user. So, I created a new activity for the add a new user form.
I am using eclipse, with the normal AVD (ARM (armeabi-v7a)). I can successfully take the user to the add new form, no real issues with that. However, when I run the app in the AVD, I see my main activity (or the actual app) and the add new user activity as an app.
Is there some way to define the main activity for the app?
I have been using nova launcher for some days now, and love it. But, for some odd reason not all my apps are showing up. I just tried finding Google calender and is not in the app section. I go to Google playstor, find it there and it's showing as installed and I can open it, but I can't find the darn thing on my tablet. I have also had this with a couple of other apps.
