I'm using Google Voice for my voice mail. A day or so ago the Voice Mail icon appeared on the app tray and won't go away. When I dial the voice mail all I get is my message. Is there anyway to reset/clear this?

should the voice mail icon have a number on it like the email or text icons if you get a new voicemail? If I get a notification, it only shows up on the task bar. I was also experiencing not recieving texts. I have since done a reset which fixed the text issue (and sleep-for now), but not the voicemail. Should I take the phone back? I fear its anotjer software bug, not hardware. I love this phone, but I'm getting very annoyed that it can't even do what its suppose to.

When I press on the icon now it gives me the choice to replace it with a custom icon and that is what I would like to do. I actually would like to use the icon for the default calendar (on my Bionic) for the icon for this app but I can not seem to locate the calendar icon.
how I can locate this icon for use or if not possible then suggest other method to show a calendar as the icon.
I've got an app that I would like to install without having an icon show up in the application tray.If I don't specify an icon in my manifest, Android still plops a default icon in the tray.How do I prevent this?

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.
On my Samsung Galaxy S3, a peculiar icon has appeared in the navigation bar (see the top-left corner in the image below):
It seemed to have appeared at about the time I put in my SD card, but removing my SD card (and restarting) has not shooed the icon away. Furthermore, the icon seems to prevent any other icons being shown (i.e. I am forced to pull down the bar when checking for new notifications).
There is no explanation for the icon in the notification window, and clearing the notifications does nothing.
I tried using Google Goggles on a cropped screenshot of the icon but no images were returned. what the icon represents and how it may be removed?
i have a Gmail account setup with a pop account tied to my Gmail. on my phone I only have the Gmail account. It does show an @ sign when i get pop mail via Gmail however it doesn't show up as a number on the mail icon. only when i get a true Gmail email does it show up as a number on the icon. once i go into mail and preview the email (pop) it will show as a number on the icon. any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst off I've got to say the 2.1 upgrade really improved my phone's speed and completely fixed the dialer lag I used to have. I'm very satisfied. My only issues are 2 small problems: 1. My ring tone (same as before upgrade) fades if I pick up the phone to answer it....if I leave the phone on the counter it plays normally. 2. Where is the "send call to voice mail" option? I don't get that option anymore when saving a call to contacts.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne day about 3 weeks ago I missed a few calls from a friend because the phone did not ring.I had a special ringtone assigned to the person, so I checked to see if there was something wrong with the person's Contacts entry that would make the phone not ring.When I looked, the box was checked where it says "Send calls directly to voicemail".I know that I never checked that box intentionally, so I unchecked it.That was about 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the same person called 3 times and the phone never rang, so I looked at the Contacts entry again and, sure enough, the box was checked again!I carry my phone in a holster on my belt, so it can't be that the box was inadvertently checked by the phone moving around in my pocket.Has anyone else had this experience?

The screen stayed completely black when I took it off my ear when I was supposed to put my password in to get my VM. I had to wait for the call to end before I could operate any buttons at all.

This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the samsung captivate. When I first got the K9 mail it worked fine. But it seems that after an update a few weeks ago my new mail icon seems to be stuck. I do get my notification and when I check the mail, it does show new mail the first time. But after I check it and clear it from my mail, it still shows that I have 2 new message or so. The number keeps growing. Any way to clear this?

But for some reason, when I click on the Mail icon, rather than giving me access to my Gmail inbox, it wants to configure a new Exchang Sync or other pop3/imap account. I configured my Gmail account when setting up the phone initially and have gone back to factory settings a couple of times, with no success. I know that my Gmail/gcalendar data are there. Currently, the only way to access my mail is via notifications (so only when I get new mail). Any suggestions for solving my problem.

On my Iphone, when I would get a new mail message it would light up a red number with how many emails there were on the MyTouch and G1 I get a little notification in the status bar at the top of the phone. My question is on the Iphone if the email notification was lit up with a number of emails that I had... and I went into my HOME computer (or any other computer) and read my email the next time the Iphone would go out to check for mail it would find zero there and turn off the notification. But on my MyTouch and G1, if it goes out to check email and there is none (because it was read elsewhere) it does NOT turn that notification off and it always looks like you have mail until you go into your email on the phone and check only to find none. Any way to fix this?

View 21 Replies View RelatedThe Original email app on my galaxy s3 one day decided to become stuck on 1 unread email. Whether i have read all emails or 5 unread emails, the app displays 1 unread email.I have tried 'Clearing cache' and 'Clear data' several times on both the email app and gmail(Gmail just for the sake of it even though it is unrelated)also, deleted all my inbox, junk and trash emails online. However, no matter what i do the icon still displays 1 unread email.
My phone is not rooted and has been and still working perfectly fine apart from this issue.I know that the issue isn't that big of a deal since technically email and everything is working, but that 1 on the email icon really annoys me.I have uploaded a screenshot of what i'm talking about just incase i haven't made myself clear.
