View 1 RepliesI hear that there was an update for facebook yesterday? so what is the latest version? is it still 1.1.2? the reason i ask is because im wondering if there is a way i can get facebook notifications to appear on my droids notification bar? I want to know if i need to download the other facebook clients like blabber or not. I saw something on Droudforums.net about checking a box for android for facebook under notification settings on the facebook main page, but that didnt help me at all.!
View 16 Replies View RelatedThe Facebook downright sucks. It's a poor implementation... often get errors when trying to post a comment. And having pics and notification links just link you to the web version is quite lame. WHEN can we expect a refresh of the Facebook app?

In my opinion it's better....but still not great
Any ideas if this thing will ever get updated? The word garbage comes to mind!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI turned my phone on right around 7AM this morning with 100% battery. Got the notice that an update was available for the Facebook app, installed that and did nothing else with my phone. Screen off and in my pocket.
Got to work, next time I turned my screen on around 8:15 I saw that my battery was already at 81%! Checked status and my up time and awake time were the same.
Only change I made was the Facebook app, so went to my accounts and synch settings. There were two FB listings in there, one normal and one for Sense. The Sense one had options to change synch, the plain FB didn't have any options to change.
Deleted Facebook and everything is working fine now, phones going to sleep when it should. So looks like something is messed up with the Facebook app newest update.
Can't upload photos to Facebook using Chrome (updated, v31.0.1650.59) on Android 4.4 - Nexus 4.
It says: Your browser is not compatible with direct photo upload (image below). WTF?

Now I have the option to upload. Quick Office file browser, and still gives me an error.
Could someone explain to me how exactly facebook contacts are updated under "People"? By that I mean the picture and the status updates. Is it Friendstream? I am not using friendstream for live feeds. I only have sync contacts checked. I am using the actual facebook app. Let me explain..I have been playing around trying to get optimal battery. I am using the facebook app widget to view status updates. I have the facebook refresh interval at 30 minutes and all notifcations off (since they dont work)Under "people" I have all the facebook options checked. Since there are 2, I dont know which one is for facebook app and which is for friendstream. I want to make sure my phone is not trying to sync contacts twice. Also, anyone else having trouble with no twitter contacts showing up under "people"? Neither friendstream or the twitter app do it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedApparently my phone decided to add every contact # on my facebook account to my caller list. Now i have to go through 300+ cell contacts that I don't want and delete them. Is there a way to avoid this if I just reset to default?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDid the latest update and ever since I cannot log Into Facebook whilst connected to mobile data. IF I try via WiFi it works fine. Even if I use the browser instead of the app it reports that I'm trying to connect with an ip address that's associated with 'abuse'.
View 3 Replies View RelatedPretty sure this is keeping my phone awake. I didn't do any long tests with it installed, but it appears like it won't go to sleep. The new app is pretty slick, but I won't use it if it keeps my phone awake.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm not really sure what to do about this screen. I started getting a notification that seems to come from the official app (I long tapped, and checked the notification info), but this "update" apparently needs to be side loaded onto the system instead of installed through the Play Store. View 9 Replies View RelatedFor contacts that I have linked to their respective Facebook accounts, I had the phone import their Facebook default picture to use as their contact card photo.
However, once they change their default picture on Facebook, my phone never gets updated. It remains the initial picture that was imported, even if I go to the contact and tell it to update (which then gives me the option to use Birthday and Photo). The photo never gets updated though.
But... If I remove the Facebook link from that contact, and then link it again, their new Facebook picture shows up.
So my question... Is there any way this can be done automatically, without me having to do it this way? I'd like my contact photos to be updated automatically whenever they are changed (or at least have a set interval to check, like maybe once a day or so).
Can anyone tell that why my facebook emails don't show 'sent by facebook for Android'?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have the Samsung Moment on Sprint and I gotta say I do love everything about it, but on thing is troubling me. When I go to: Settings>Accounts>Add Account>Facebook
It just takes me back to the "Add Account" screen. There's no option to even input my information to sync the account. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
Be attentive in the very first time? Try "Friend's Calling"! Hard to keep update buddies? Answer a call and have no idea what to chat with? With Friend's Calling, while friend calling, screen shows his/her facebook wall data in seconds. It matchs phone contacts with facebook friends automatically in first time you use.
When receiving a call It shows your friends recent facebook wall status
**Match automatically. The program match automatically as long as your friends name on your phone is same as his facebook name.
Now the icon on the right side means matching successfully.
**Match manually You have to search by yourself if the name on your phone is different from his facebook name.
Then searching his name on tag of facebook list
Also you can see the matching successfully icon to the right side of the name.

I have old version of my app installed in the G1, and then I copy the apk file of new version to the SD card. When I install the new version from SD card, it raises a error: 07-08 22:11:05.396: DEBUG/(1748): unable to unlink '/data/data/ com.android.packageinstaller/files/myapp.apk': No such file or directory (errno=2) btw: I do not want to uninstall the app, I just want to update the app when I install the new version of app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, somehow I accidentally installed the Facebook app in the Android market, which overwrote my Facebook HTC app that came built in. Did I screw anything up? AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? Seems like AppBrain has a bug in there, so be warned! Or it is just me being clueless, I suppose.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Android Facebook-Connect library running in my emulator and I'm able to set my status with the Facebook API I have setup. However, I don't know where to go from there? Am I supposed to use the session key that this library allows me to get and make some Facebook API calls? I haven't found any code examples to even see what the proper syntax is. Am I better off using another library? I tried fbrocket with limited luck(I get a "server error 104 - Incorrect signature").
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how to intercept the event that the apk has been updated in order to launch again my Timer. Indeed, I have a Timer wich is "scheduled AtFixedRate", but when my App is updated through the market, the timer is killed ; and if the user doesn't launch the App, the timer is not started (so my app becomes useless). How could I do to avoid it ? Is there an event to catch the "App updated" ? I searched, tried, but nothing.

Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).
Google maps have been updated to include navigation for walking directions and filter search result by distance or ratings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo a while back I saw a app that let you set your wallpaper to the public feed of a webcam. They had a big list of webcams you could use or you could add your own feed. There was one feed that was a view of the earth from a satellite, and you could watch the shadow creep across the planet as the day went on. I thought that was pretty cool, however can't find what app that was.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick way to see what apps need to be updated? Other than Appbrain, it seems to lag behind.
