Apparently my phone decided to add every contact # on my facebook account to my caller list. Now i have to go through 300+ cell contacts that I don't want and delete them. Is there a way to avoid this if I just reset to default?

For contacts that I have linked to their respective Facebook accounts, I had the phone import their Facebook default picture to use as their contact card photo.
However, once they change their default picture on Facebook, my phone never gets updated. It remains the initial picture that was imported, even if I go to the contact and tell it to update (which then gives me the option to use Birthday and Photo). The photo never gets updated though.
But... If I remove the Facebook link from that contact, and then link it again, their new Facebook picture shows up.
So my question... Is there any way this can be done automatically, without me having to do it this way? I'd like my contact photos to be updated automatically whenever they are changed (or at least have a set interval to check, like maybe once a day or so).
Any ideas if this thing will ever get updated? The word garbage comes to mind!

Right away the phone was ready for the 2.1 OTA update. I updated, and so far so good, no silent bug issues, and the phone seems to be operating with no issues so far.

I recall reading through posts before that the lack of the popup was a big negative for Chomp. Just spreading the news, not saying any one app is better than the other. Do what you want with this information.

View 34 Replies View RelatedI turned my phone on right around 7AM this morning with 100% battery. Got the notice that an update was available for the Facebook app, installed that and did nothing else with my phone. Screen off and in my pocket.
Got to work, next time I turned my screen on around 8:15 I saw that my battery was already at 81%! Checked status and my up time and awake time were the same.
Only change I made was the Facebook app, so went to my accounts and synch settings. There were two FB listings in there, one normal and one for Sense. The Sense one had options to change synch, the plain FB didn't have any options to change.
Deleted Facebook and everything is working fine now, phones going to sleep when it should. So looks like something is messed up with the Facebook app newest update.
I know this has been brought up in the past, but last mention of this is about 3 months ago. And in those 3 months, there have been probably thousands more new apps out there for our phone.So, what are the favorites? And what are must-haves? This goes for games as well. Are there games that are still getting constant play on your phone?In my opinion, Handcent and Shapewriter seem to be my favorite and necessary ones. As for games, I keep playing Cestos.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to chomp from handcent because I like the way chomp looks better than handcent and they both have basically the same functionality.
Well chomp just had an update and it is now force closing everytime i turn my phone on and will not work at all.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall because I just got it customized perfectly and there is no guarantee that will work. I will do that if/when someone says it has worked foe them.
That said, has anyone had this problem happen to them after the new update?
I hear that there was an update for facebook yesterday? so what is the latest version? is it still 1.1.2? the reason i ask is because im wondering if there is a way i can get facebook notifications to appear on my droids notification bar? I want to know if i need to download the other facebook clients like blabber or not. I saw something on Droudforums.net about checking a box for android for facebook under notification settings on the facebook main page, but that didnt help me at all.!

Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.

My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).

Pretty sure this is keeping my phone awake. I didn't do any long tests with it installed, but it appears like it won't go to sleep. The new app is pretty slick, but I won't use it if it keeps my phone awake.

Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).
Can't upload photos to Facebook using Chrome (updated, v31.0.1650.59) on Android 4.4 - Nexus 4.
It says: Your browser is not compatible with direct photo upload (image below). WTF?

I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you're running my rom and would like to add some different statusbar icons to your screen, I threw together an update for you.
I made these icons for me, so you may or may not like them. GPS, signal strength, 3g, battery, and a few other icons were changed.
There's no update to remove the icons, so do a nandroid backup before you install them incase you don't like them, then you can easily restore your default icons if you don't like the update.
Here's a screenshot.
Installation: Copy icons-update.zip to your sdcard. Reboot your phone into recovery mode. Select Flash Zip from Sdcard. Choose icons-update.zip.
Remember, do a nand backup first!
Download: icons-update.zip
I wouldn't recommend applying this update to any ROM other than mine, as other ROM's might have modified framework files themselves, and this would overwrite their stuff.
I saw a thread about this but couldn't find it to reply in.I love facebook and uploading photos and yes there is a facebook for Android application but i was wanting to know is there other things i have yet to discover about it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWith 1.5 I was able to go to the full facebook site and do the facebook chat thing at the bottom right (though it didn't often work very well). now with 2.1 i am having trouble with this. the little chat window/bar only seems to show up when i zoom all the way out, and then it kind of disappears when i try and touch it or zoom in.
