General :: Cannot Access Facebook And Google On Any Browser Except Opera Mini?
Sep 1, 2013I have a QMobile Noir A2 with custom ROM D-XPERIA HD installed. Android version 2.3.7
I have been facing a problem from quite a while now that I cannot access Facebook or Google through any browser except Opera Mini.
It always gives me an error that could not locate remote server and/or check your network connection.I'm using wifi and Facebook and Google works just fine on my PC on same network. Even the Facebook Android app works properly and all other applications also work perfectly on the Internet. So this is not a problem with my network connection.
Only browsers do not load these pages, I have tried the stock browser, Dolphin, one browser, opera classic previously called opera mobile and other browsers too. A few months ago they were working but now not.I did not try Firefox or Opera Beta Browser because the are too heavy for my phone.
Opera Mini works, obviously because it does all loading and processing in its servers.I think that there maybe a certificate or authentication problem in my phone which is causing this.

Dec 19, 2012I cannot possibly be the only one with this problem I have wiped formatted and installed the latest ROM for my phone five times repeatedly each time I get finished installing and try to access the Facebook app I begin to get data drops if I use the phone for anything other than Facebook it works just fine I get data 24/7 with no drops but if I attempt to access Facebook through the app or to the login through any game it starts to erode away at my data. when I connect to Wi-Fi it is 100% functional.
I have tried this with the ROM with 100% stock ( with and without imosey kernel) and Facebook still causes data drops. A reboot fixes the issue until you open the Facebook app again. I no longer know what to do, I have narrowed it down to be the problem with the Facebook application but All of my games connect to through Facebook
Radios supposedly are not correct. I did nothing to change them, however it just out of no where started. Tahnks If you get this problem, drop back to an older radio, flash rom a couple times, then flash install new rom and flash back.

General :: Old Facebook Layout In UC Browser?
Aug 10, 2012set the default Facebook layout in UC Browser as the old layout. Here I'm referring the old layout (wap) to the one as seen on Opera Mini.
When I open uc browser and log in through the "alternative login" i get the old wap layout. But once I close and open uc browser again and click on Facebook, it directly shows me the latest Facebook Mobile layout. Can't I set the default view for Facebook as the old (wap) layout?
P.S - I only wish to use UC and not opera anymore...

Apr 30, 2010So, somehow I accidentally installed the Facebook app in the Android market, which overwrote my Facebook HTC app that came built in. Did I screw anything up? AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? Seems like AppBrain has a bug in there, so be warned! Or it is just me being clueless, I suppose.

Jan 31, 2010Everytime I search for a music vid on youtube, it only results with live performances, not an actual music video, even when I type in "official music video" I get random and live results of stuff that has nothing to do with what I searched for. Also when I go directly to the site, it asks to view vids with the browser, but nothing happens becauuse of flash player. When I first got my droid, the internet worked great, now its slower than dial up. And face book problems suck so bad I have to type in facebook.com everytime, even then, it keeps directing me to touch, and mobile. I know some of you are having sim problems with facebook, actual help would be great, I don't know how to disable viewing in mobile only.

I can click on the box, get the green selection graphic, but no cursor or keyboard to actually put anything in. Oct 25, 2009I can't access my Facebook photos using the HTC Album app or any other HTC app like contacts, but I can access all photos of my friends (except for one friend). I've played around with the settings on Facebook, but I don't know if I'm missing anything. I've also been able to access all of my photos and all of photos of my friends (including the one mentioned above) using the BFF Photo app for Android.I can access all my photos from Flickr just fine, and I can upload pictures to Facebook just fine using Facebook for Android, but I just can't view MY photos using any HTC app. I can also update my status just fine using the HTC Facebook app. Any ideas on things I should check?

Sep 22, 2010I can't access facebook through my phone, unless I navigate using the broswer, which is a pain.
When I try accessing my facebook through contacts, I get an error (phone -> menu -> people -> Updates and events == nothing for me to access). When I use my contact card (phone -> menu -> people -> my contact card -> facebook), the message "Sorry! The application HTC New (process com.htc.htcnew) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I force close, and nothing ends up happening.
And yes, I did sync my phone and sync facebook. I don't want to do a hard factory reset.

Jun 13, 2010I am probably reposting, but i can't find the exact answer im looking for (if you know the thread, please link it).
Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).

Nov 4, 2010My 'accounts & sync' settings have always had 'facebook' turned off for syncing, and I have never turned it on. Yet this morning i was playing around with the bit in 'people' to try and see if the facebook bit in there worked and i would be able to link a contact in there with their facebook account. It asked me to log into facebook (after which incidentally it could not then find the contact in facebook lol). After that i went to the calendar and it now shows ALL 2500 facebook contacts birthdays!!
Please tell me there is a way to undo this. at no point did i ever select auto facebook syncing, or choose to import facebook calendar. Obviously now the calendar is pretty unusable as there are multiple bithdays on every day.

Feb 28, 2010On my phone I have the Facebook app downloaded from the market. I also noticed that the phone comes bookmarked with Facebook.
So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!

May 18, 2010Like everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.
