I've used the barcode scanner to scan fedex and ups packages and look up the tracking information. But would be really great to have a simple database app to work with this where i could scan the barcode before I drop the package in the drop box and store it with some notes so i can look it up from my phone at any time.

Is anyone here having their Incredible shipped to a FedEx Hold-At center (e.g. FedEx Office Center)? I'm at work all day so I won't be home to sign for the package, and the pick-up center isn't close to my house. But there is a FedEx Hold-At center very close to my work. I could easily pick it up there during the work day. Just curious if anyone else is doing this, or if it's even allowed (due to possible billing address issue)? I called CSR and they said I can't do it, but she didn't sound very confident about that.

I don't know where I am going wrong with the request. I am using AsyncTask to send the request to the server. The request also uses a token which I receive when I login to the webpage. All this is clear in the code below. This is part of the process in the doInBackground() function of the Asynctask:

From my phone provider (Tele2) i have to dial a 1 (one) before my PIN-code when traveling abroad.
The code is accepted, I can be called and i can send and receive SMS messages.
However i cannot make phone-calls...
The error (?) is "DIAL request modified to SS request" and (very short) "not connected"
Facebook app has been acting up on my Droid since evening. I can get to mobile site but the app says "application request limit reached" and will not get data from FB.

I'm developing in eclipse. I use the Android tools export facility to export a signed .apk file for distribution.
I want to run this either on my G1 or the emulator without eclipse being involved. I've already messed up a couple of times and accidentally tested my source code rather than the .apk file and am trying to avoid this.
On a related note, the export signed .apk facility seems to grab "stale" stuff sometimes. How do I do a "clean release build" to make sure I get the latest code in my release?
I am looking to create an app with plugin functionality. What I want is to allow a separate plugin "app" to provide me with the view, and take care of the updating of the view that I will use in my list adapter. Essentially, I want the separate app to take care of the bindView and newView methods of my adapter.
I am looking at RemoteViews, but I am not sure if that is exactly what I need, if it would work, or maybe it's what I have to use, since it would be cross-process.
Seems like fedex is not updating their tracking anymore on 2nd day deliveries. My package seems like it's being walked up from LA to Seattle. I'm glad companies can go green but this is ridiculous.

I know it has been posted on here before...but I couldn't find it and I am not sure if it's the same page the other person posted but here is a link to life tracking of different cargo planes (leaving Memphis and other destinations) on the left search for FDX which is fed ex.it shows all locations....for Memphis...I would say go to the top left and do a live tracking and look for FDX going out to wherever your destination is.

It's my very first smartphone, i'm coming from an Env2 and got the Eris for $49.99 under the NE2 plan. Any tips for when I first get it? As soon as I open it? My internet order # is 52001xxxx and it says "Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days." for order status, but Verizon can not tell if it has shipped yet and do not have a tracking number yet. I have called several times yesterday and today and have heard it should be here Wend, then it should be here Thursday and maybe it might be here Friday. nobody really know when the heck I'll receive it.

View 32 Replies View RelatedI ordered my Incredible today, online and received my shipment notice within an hour. I noticed on the shipment notification that FedEx requires a signature upon delivery. I'm not too familiar with FedEx so i was wondering if anyone has had experience with this. I will not be home so i was wondering if i can leave a note for the FedEx person to leave the package on my doorstep or if they'll leave a note saying they were there and will try again the next day. (Like UPS) Another day won't kill me, but i'd like to charge it and play with it tomorrow when i WILL be home.

I think she might be the last person on Earth with a Sidekick. View 6 Replies View RelatedI just can't help but wonder if the Droid X is going to be released with 2.1 deliberately. I mean, of course its deliberate but I believe it can be considered a Vanilla class device, so it kinda makes sense. Look at it like just another way to beat out the iPhone 4, since there will undoubtedly be a root for the X within days. The fact that it has 2.1 upon shipping makes it that much easier I would think. I know it has some degree of Moto's custom tweaks but there should be much demand to root this phone I would think. Then again maybe for most people the addition of wifi tethering the legit way on 2.2 would deter people especially since its clocked at 1ghz.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI already use easytether for internet access on the go, what i need is an app that will allow me to tether my phone and dial a specific number of my choosing. I run a termninal program on my pc that connects to a remote terminal via land line that uses typical rs-232 communications, but easytether or pdanet do not allow dialing of specific numbers. I use a LG VX8360 with the drivers (LG CDMA USB mondem driver) and this gives me the option in my terminal program on my PC to select the LG phone and as modem and the terminal then dials which ever phone number i choose.

And that means no extra thickness. The 3500mAh battery on the other hand will add some extra thickness, though its said to only be 3-4mm. The nice part here is that this battery does come with the replacement back cover.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTry a game I've released on an Evo? A user has reported that the controls are the wrong way round on the device. Like most arrogant developers :) I initially thought "dumb user error", but I suppose it *might* draw with the Y axis reversed.
The game is Pocket Racing Lite. Touching the left side of the screen should turn the car anti-clockwise, and the right side - clockwise.
The things that sometimes a brute force shake would be most helpful for and that I would pay money to have my phone do:
1. Shake to full brightness. When it's too bright to see the screen, it's a PITA to try to get the brightness turned up.
2. Shake to current phone call. Occasionally, I exit the phone app and it's frustrating not to be able to hop back over there quickly.
3. Shake to unlock. It's annoying to always be swiping when I just want to quickly check something on my phone. A quick shake would be much easier as an option.
How can i response from the server without request? I can send httpRequest but i want to server will be able to send any response whenever it want. (Server will be able to push to handset) Must i install web server to my android?
