I am looking for an app that might let you record or see in the dark like night vision ( not the fake app ) A few of us are gonna play in the dark with a fun board we all know and some think that is a very creepy and we see if we can see what happens on camera . Any apps out there for this ?

Surface flinger turns off all pixels except for certain colors on OLED displays. Turning on only the red display results in a MUCH increased battery life. Looks like something to be included as an option in new Roms & such.

I do a lot of science-type stuff (astronomy), and also photograph at night. I used a red-tinted flashlight, so as to not ruin my night vision. I would love to be able to use my phone while shooting, or doing astronomy stuff out in the dark, and not have bright white glow from the phone.
Since the Eris doesn't have a flash is there anyway to take good night/dark photos? All the good "kodak moments" happen at night.

What m worried about is the effect on my LCD screen. It seems to be running all night but in a dimmer mode. Is it ok to use the feature every night? Will i end up ruining my LCD a lot faster?

I am starting out as an Android Developer, and I would like to know if there are any Computer vision libraries or Augmented Reality libraries for the Android SDK, as I am planning to use these libraries for a mobile app.
I have read that if I download the NDK, I might be able to "import/use" the C openCV, and ARtoolkit libraries, but I am wondering if this is possible, or if there is a better and easier way of using these tools.
Android apps are programmed in Java, yet OpenCV & ARtoolkit use C/C++. Is there any way to use these libraries?
i've bought u8850 vision and its a great phone .. it has 1 ghz scorpion and adreno 205 gbu .. how can i port cwm and cm9 to it ?! it has 2.3.7 firmware ?

View 2 Replies View Related I've tried different cables including its own cable. Yes, I've installed drivers. Yes, I tried enabling and disabling USB debugging. Yes, I tried cleaning the USB port, both on the computer and the device. Yes, I've connected the device to multiple computers. Yes, I've power cycled both the device and the computer.
No, it didn't work.
I have installed Google Music, which I would like to use to sync/listen to music. My problem is that externally controlling playback (play/pause/skip) does not automatically control Google Music, but the stock Gingerbread Music player.
Of course, from within the Google Music app itself it works, but external control like from the CyanogenMod lock screen widget or from Bluetooth AVRCP commands it always starts playing on the stock player.
It actually works after I launch Google Music once manually. It seems to control the last used/active app automatically, which is good. But when there's nothing running, it defaults to the stock player.
Is there a way to change that? It's annoying especially with Bluetooth AVRCP and A2DP in the car..
After updating from stock 2.3.3 To Gen.Y Vision X ROM, callers faced some terrible echo when speaking with me. I updated Radio to one suggested and it was fixed. Soon after this update speaker in my phone failed. So I have 2 questions. Could that failure be caused by radio firmware? How should I choose radio software to flash?
After getting my phone fixed (not without troubles, because device is rooted, and I didn't clean it up properly) I didn't flashed new radio yet. I did flashed latest Gen'Y Vision X ROM. May I flash radio after ROM without any problems, or should I flash Radio and than ROM?

My old phone is a rooted htc vision (android 2.3). I want to transfer app data (savegames, settings, whatsapp verification, etc...) to my new phone which is an unrooted nexus 5.
I have titanium backups of my 2.3 apps but i can't use them on my nexus 5 as it is not rooted.
Is there a way to use the titanium backup files with helium (which works without root)?!
Or do i have any other opportunity to get the existing app data from the old phone to the new one without rooting the nexus?
I have probably bricked my Huawei Vision by rewriting boot image.
However, I can connect* it to PC and it sees my phone as "Huawei Handset" (same with Windows and Linux). But Windows misses its drivers (non-bricked phone worked); Linux seems to work. No OS can connect to it using default (downloaded) ADB, nor Fastboot, nor SoftwareUpdateTool.
Its PCI ID is 12d1:c002.
How could I reflash it? I would prefer the ways without disassembling the phone.
How to boot the phone, so you can connect it to PC:
1. turn off my phone completely (vol up + power for 10 seconds - release power for a seconds and repeat it once again)
2. prepare USB cable, so you can connect it in few seconds
3. hold vol down + power and after ~1s, connect USB cable (still hold vol down)
4. when Huawei logo appears, release both buttons - your phone is connected now
I want to get the display as dark as possible but I also want the display to remain touch sensitive.So I can't turn the display off, otherwise it wouldn't react to touch anymore. And I use WindowManager. LayoutParams. screenBrightness to get the screen as dark as possible. And I put a layer colored black over the entire display.That works, but at night one sees that the screen is still quite strongly illuminated.Does anybody have an idea of how to get the screen even darker?

After moving to API level 5, they are quite dark. The unselected tabs are almost black! I've tried setting the theme to light, but the colors remain very dark.

This way, I control active/reduced ("sleep") activity levels of that Service. Everything's cool and dandy in this scenario.Enter an AppWidget that's using this Service in a similar fashion, with functionality implemented in a subclass of AppWidgetProvider. This changes the game - I have found no way to determine when to set the Service to the reduced ("sleep") activity level from that point. The app's Activity has long paused, and I keep the Service at active level, as the widget needs updates from the Service similar to what the Activity needs when in front. With the AppWidget on the home screen, I want, and should (re: battery life), drop the Service's activity level when the device enters sleep mode. The most elegant way to handle this would be to detect whether the screen is dark, right inside the Service.

The power was drained despite the fact that it was powered from the wall. At first, I thought I was careless and that the system drained.However, after turning it on, I received a phone call and the screen had changed.Note how the answer buttons have arrows that go up and down.(Although, you still slide horizontally.)I was hoping this was a sign of 2.1. However, it still says firmware version 2.0.1. Build is ESD56 and Kernel 2.6.29.

View 10 Replies View RelatedA girl at work spilled her drink of water by my phone and of course it got wet. I did the whole sit in rice for 3 days and hit it with a lite blow drying. After I turned it back on everything works perfect (can text and receive calls, ect) except the screen is so dark I can only see it (hologram type effect) in super bright light and tilted at an angel. And even then its barley visible. To my surprise yesterday the screen lit right up back to normal and I almost died, but by that night its back to dark. I have no insurance and have about 8 months left on my contract. I talked to some verizon people and the best scenarios for me would to be A) Buy another Droid X from like craigslist and switch everything over. Cheapest I seen in my area is $375 or B) Ad a line and get a new Droid X w/2 year contract for $200 and switch the info over and pay the data fee on the old one I cant use I'm not asking so much for help on those options, but more if anyone knows any tips to maybe fix the screen (if it is a screen problem and not hardware). It just sucks because it works perfect and it did come back on so I know (kinda) that it must be capable of doing it again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got Motorola Milestone XT weeks ago, and when I first tried taking photos with it, the photos was normal. But after a few days, when I took a photo, the photo started looking dimmer than normal. It was really annoying, and I already tried these solutions:-
1:Turn off Wi-Fi
2:Turn off Wi-Fi then turn on camera - get darken camera then take a picture then view the dark photo then return to camera mode
I did consider complaining to motorola for this problem, so any more solutions?
I was just charging my evo a and noticed that the 4 soft keys looked a like they were glowing in the dark. I unplugged the charger and the 4 soft keys was still glowing in the dark
