I was thinking about getting a Keysonic 540BT keyboard/trackpad thingy, my question really was - will this work with the official 2.2 touchwiz firmware? Is there mouse/mouse cursor support and how fast or responsive is the input for typing and games (emulators mainly)?

Word from those that have flashed is that they are getting a GPS lock, Indoors. Also, it Looks like updates to the phone will be done with Kies, not OTA. Also has been said that it's pretty quick and the lag issue has been addressed.

The installed languages are asian languages (+English), so I would like to change the firmware to a European version, since I would like to have Hungarian language on the phone (especially but not only because I would like to be able to type messages with Swype). My plan is to change to this one: N7000XXLA6, N7000OXXLA1

View 30 Replies View RelatedThe Samsung Galaxy K4 firmware update includes a new virtual keyboard alternative, named "Samsung keyboard", in addition to the stardard "Android keyboard". (Sorry, I have yet to succeed in taking screen shots; I will post some if I find any.) What are your thoughts on this? There are a bunch of different layouts ("Qwerty", "12 keypad", "20 keypad"), all accessible from a popup menu. All layouts seem to be missing a shift key (relying instead of a popup selection for "abc"/"Abc"/"ABC"/"Numeric and symbols"/"Emoticons"), and there seems to be no press-for-variants feature to access characters with umlauts. You can set the keyboard language. Available languages are: Automatic (based on carrier?), English, German, Dutch, Polish, French, Czech, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
All layouts use T9 prediction, and the dictionary adapts to the selected language. Also, it appears that the dictionary is not shared with the Andoid user dictionary (accessible within Settings->Locale). I like that they've done it. It shows that Samsung have not completely given up support for this device, that they do have developers assigned to it. The keys are nice and large, and they've made good use of the landscape format. I don't know if they are using a context-sensitive key-enlarging-function like HTC have, but my typo rate seems to have decreased. I find the lack of a shift key very inconvenient, especially when entering passwords. Having to open a popup to enter a capital is two, three, maybe four additional taps -- they could have made much better use of long-press and off-key swipes. The lack of the press-for-variants feature means that, if you require umlauts, you must either switch to the appropriate language or, if it doesn't exist, use another keyboard. Since none of the Scandinavian languages are supported, I cannot use this keyboard.

Binary cache files were found in /data/data/com.wssyncmldm that specify various URIs related to T-Mobile's management system and firmware OTA updates. There is also a file 'fota_delta_dp' (~40MB) which I assume is the update file. I haven't had a chance to analyze it yet but it is not a zip file.The URIs can only be accessed from within T-Mobile's wireless network.
I bought am SGS off eBay, and despite it supposedly being in "as new" condition, it appears to have been dropped more time than Jordan's knickers, resulting in numerous dents and bashes...so not really "as new" afterall
Apparently I can't do anything about this through eBay, so I need to keep the phone, so really just trying to restore it to a good condition. Does anyone know where I might be able to get an official SGS housing? I've searched all over but have had no joy so far!

It has all the arabic apps and no market available. How can I get a European rom, I am from Malta, Europe so any rom which is in English and has market available and working is ok for me. View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, start at the start! got this phone (unlocked pay as you go) from Clove (Excellent) and put my o2 pay as you go sim inside, and straight away im on 3g no problems.....
Then..... See some nice new firmware, (JM2) and think i will have some of that! (Install with odin, not using CSC file Initially, then using CSC -- EURO ? not UK specific? file included with update
And now....
On both counts i have had to manually install the apn settings, (no problem)
But....
Apps are missing from the market place, (new google id & with & without csc file)
Im thinking the CSC file is more important than we think, in that it holds APN information for UK operators, and that when you go into marketplace this CSC file reflects a UK phone in some way, and displays according apps
Battle for Mars ... only the lite version is available HistoryEraser ... is no longer available etc etc...
So two things can anyone with JM2 see those apps?, and other thing I have a feeling that Kies won't update our phones to the latest firmware (Eventually) if our csc file reflects that our phone is a EURO phone, not neccesarily a problem if you use odin but you know what i mean!
Other thing that i wasnt aware of ... using odin resets battery stats. On xda developers there is a fix for this
Last thing......
Can someone who can see these apps upload the csc file somehow.
I have Samsung firmware version DF29 on my Galaxy and Im wondering is this the most up to date firmware or should I be upgrading to something else? Its the firmware that came on the phone and if its not the latest, what should I be running? I prefer a firmware thats been tested and known to work flawlessly. I dont really want to use any firmware in delopment stages etc.

Someone said that Google has to approve every new ROM to get complete access to the market. I was just wondering if it is I who have the glitch or if anyone else has the same problems. I have heard from two other sources (in Sweden) who have the same issues.
