Recently updated my Xperia - all went well however after I switched my phone on after the update all of the icons and the homepage are larger, darker and bolder than before the update. Also there are more widgets on the other two homepages. Is it possible to get the homepage and icons back to how they were before the update? If so then how?

At first, no matter how many times I refreshed, my new mails were not showing up. I tried deleting my email account from my phone and then adding it back. This fixed the problem for a day or two, but now I am having emails show up twice in the inbox, and my phone will update basically whenever it wants to. I only realized this, because every time I have checked my mail on my computer I have 5-10 emails more than are showing up on my phone. WTH?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just manually updated to 2.01, and everything went fine on the upgrade, no errors. Seems rather zippy, however now when I open the keyboard and the home screen shift to a horizontal layout, all my home screen icons (and widgets) disappear. On all three home screens. Everything is still there in the "all items" menu on the bottom. I'm not getting any kind of crash indicator, or force close or anything. A reboot brings it back, at least until I open the keyboard again. It's pretty consistent, although it seems I can avoid the problem by not opening the keyboard when it's on the home screen (only doing so when in an app). Never saw this with 2.0. I've googled around and seen other folks having similar problems, but no fixes mentioned, and none specifically referring to 2.0.1.

I need a way to update the position of the icons that represent the items (as well as change the facing of the icons every two seconds as updated data comes in). I currently have an activity in the app that extends MapActivity. On to this I have overlaid a static Overlay that draws some lines on the map and an ItemizedOverlay that draws a static icon.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

Because I get to edit files, but I am looking for a long time without finding how to put ALL the icons on the left, and keep only the icons on the right as in the picture.
I notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the Hero today in the UK and am on the Orange network. On the Home screen i have 4 icons and the 3rd one is browser. If I press it I instantly get a white page (Instantly as in no loading time or attempt to connect to the internet) with black writing. It has loads of symbols and http stuff at the start. Then continues with the message "The page you are trying to access is only available via your orange phone when connected via the orange gprs network.
The part at the start also mentions orange world. If I go into More-Settings-Set Homepage I try and change this to google it shows as google is the Homepage. But again if I launch the browser again I get the white page with black writing. The funny thing is I can connect to the internet no problem by typing in a URL manually. And I am using the orange network for that. I called tech supp for orange and the guy was pretty useless and no joy. Why no homepage, but can browse through URLS's?
Is there a way to set the homepage in Chrome in ICS?

And of course, if the browser is open, set the browser to the Home address without opening another Tab.
If I need to explain it further, lets just say I want to be able to have my Home button, instead of a tap resetting my phone to the home screen of the launcher, instead, Launch my default Browser (whether it be Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin, etc...) to the Home Address. If my browser is open, SET it to Home Address, without opening more tabs.
Long story short, at work, we have this new tablet runs on Android. The administrator has disabled the Home button so the window does not get closed. I'd rather it'd be enabled, and instead, reset the Browser to it's Home address. This particular tablet, will only use this browser window.
