Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 :: Flash Based Website Not Working
Dec 2, 2010
I just bought a new Xperia X8 E15 from Bahrain with Android version 1.6. Whenever i browse websites I am not able to view the flash contents. But I am able to view youtube videos. I appreciate if somebody could help me to sort it out. Also I would like to know when I will be able to update my Android version to 2.1.
Today I got a notification that I have an update for my Linux based android phone. The problem is that I have to use a the PCCompanion software that only runs on Windows. I have several computers but I only have Mac OSX and Linux (Ubuntu) as operating systems. How can I upgrade my Linux based phone on Linux or Mac?
When using YouTube the video isn't full screen? just not possible on 1.6?also I have to go to options then more then switch to high quality EVERY video i go to....isnt there a option to always have that on?!!?!?
last question.. how can i view streaming video from a website like nothings.com or any other daily updated viral video site.. need flash or something?
Very often when i try to load a website the browser sits there and does nothing, no upstream or downstream, then, finally when the 3g arrows start doing something the page loads instantly. What is going on? Do i need a different browser?
I'm really struggling with the camera on the x10. I was expecting going from tocca ultra to SE, (both 8.1) to be quite similar in quality, but this ain't the case. Picture is half the size of the screen and pics during night are awful!! Cant even seem to find the flash.
I have been waiting and reading for months with regard to getting a new phone. I currently have an old Nokia N96 so any modern phone will be an upgrade, however I need to mae sure that the new phone has at least the same quality camer and video recorder as my N96. I had almost set my self on the Iphone 4 but luckily I waited an what a good choice that was with all the problems the iphone 4 is having. So yet again I started looking and have always liked the x10 because of its build and camera but hated it because of it having old 1.6 android and no hd recording or flash. Then suddenly I read the somone has managed to root the x10 and so im guessing that it wont be long until 2.2 with flash and hd recording and multitouch is released ?
Does anyone out there know if there is a way we can get a flash down loaded to ur handset for the camera as the photos i take are coming out really dark. shame really because when i take them outside in the daylight, the quality is Very good. if anyone knows i'd sure appreciate a reply.
Why is the camera on the X10 being advertised as so good? It's clumsy, slow and awkward to use. No flash and pictures can be very difficult to take with blurring happening more times than not. One of the main reasons I choose the X10 over other devices was the promise of a brilliant camera. Sony Ericsson, can you give us any information on future updates to the camera, eg wil we ever get the flash that you promised in a 'future update' and will you ever increase the screen colours? HD video recording is a great start (I'm yet to try it out as the update isn't available to me yet), but please bring the camera up to the quality I've experienced with previous SE devices
But now I'm on 2.1, it doesn't do anything of the sort.
e.g. let's say i had sent out a text stating; "Hi John, I will be at yours next week - you can email me at email@example.com if you need me to bring anything"
so a few days later I'd start a new text. By the time I'd wrote "Hi" the system would offer me the next word as "John" - it had kind of learned what it thought I might want to say next. This was incredibly useful when entering email addresses into form pages.
Now, when I type "Hi", it offers stupid suggestions like "Hit, High, Hill" and other completely unrelated junk.
If I enable predictive texts, it auto fixes words that don't need auto fixing. I sent a text to my sister saying "lolzalot" and by the time I realised what had gone on, it had instead replaced my word with "locally"
Why is this new way of doing things so poor compared to the old 1.6 way? Or at least, how can I get it back to being like it should be.
First, am I the only one who really is missing out on so much because of the lack of flash? Apart from YouTube, I can't watch anything that involves a video, and for me, that's quite a lot. Any latest news? I did ask before and I was told something about when it gets rolled out isn't the same as when we can actually use it. Can anyone elaborate? Also, when a webpage automatically changes to mobile friendly (e.g. ITV.com) and doesn't have the option that you normally find at the bottom of the page to change to desktop version, is there anyway to change it?
Will the android version 2.1 update provide the X10 a proper flash LED when taking photo's? Currently, it's somewhat cumbersome to go all the way into settings to turn on the LED light (that stays on until you turn it off) just to take a well lit photo. So I'm just wondering will the LED flash on the new OS update provide the automatic LED flash?
