Sprint HTC Hero :: Google Sign In Error
May 5, 2010I've had my Sprint Hero for around 4 months now, it is not rooted, running stock 1.5.I was trying to check the marketplace for any updates to my apps and it brought me to the set up google account screen.I've tried signing in and It tells me that there was an error on sign in and my SIM card might not be provisioned for data. Obviously as a Sprint customer I don't have a SIM card, is there anything I can do to get things working again?

Mar 16, 2010Theres an annoying little feature on the 1.5 Sense's browser, and that is the frequent "Retrieving Sign-In Details" message that pop-ups when launching the web browser. Now that there have been some leaked 2.1 Sense ROM's out there, can anyone clear up whether or not the coming 2.1 update will finally be without this annoying message? Or does it still exist in the 2.1 Sense?

Jan 9, 2010I just got my invite to Google voice and I was super excited, but then I found out there were some issues with Sprint playing nice with GV. I have a couple of questions for any of you using GV with sprint network. FYI, I have the any mobile any time plan. Questions:
1. I understand that sprint treats GV as a landline call, does this mean that it will eat my minutes with every call? also, is there a workaround for this? 2. should I get a google number or keep my number 3. if i get a google number can people still call my old number? 4. I read a lot about call forwarding and some *28 and *73 options, but i couldn't wrap my head around what to actually do. I know sprint dropped some 20 cent charge, but I also read that in some situations that charge still applies. 5. can you cancel out of the service after you have signed up.
Samsung Epic 4G :: Cant Sign Into YouTube
Oct 16, 2010Is anyone else having a problem signing into Youtube? This has been going on for the past week (only had the Epic for two weeks now) and I can't sign into the YouTube app and I get an error saying that I can't sign into my YouTube account. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, hard reset doesn't work.

Is there any international voice and data plan that i can sign up for so that I don't end up paying sky-high roaming rates? I really don't want to have to keep my phone in airplane mode the whole week. Any advice from travelers to the "Great White North" would really be appreciated, eh?

Jul 6, 2010I just got my HTC Desire today, and have been learning how it works etc, but I just tried to do a google search, use youtube and sign into facebook using the facebook app and widget, and nothing will work. I can use FriendStream fine.. I updated my facebook status with it and it's showing updates as they happen. I'm using my home wifi and the phone says it's connected with signal strength 'good'. Can anyone explain what the problem might be? I haven't tried 3g yet, if that matters at all. (not entirely sure how I'd switch to it for testing purposes other than going outside out of wifi range)

May 24, 2010I've been having a problem with my YouTube account ever since I did the OS update from Verizon. I keep getting a notification that says there was a sign-in error with it. When I click on it, it prompts for my password. I enter my password, and occasionally there's a Captcha to enter, but mostly there isn't. Either way, it doesn't accept it, and keeps prompting me to log in. I turned off the sync options for that account in the settings menu, but it still happens, just not as often. YouTube works just fine, as do all my e-mail accounts and the like.

I'm at my local Sprint store fondling the new EVO and contemplating when I get an upgrade and maybe I should get one or should I wait or.Anyway, the phone was fully functional and on 3G, so I thought I would check out YouTube. I brought it up and searched out a video I had watched before and cued it up. When it played, and for whatever reason, it had super resolution and looked great, but it would not play more than a few seconds without stopping then starting, stopping and starting again, etc. I thought this was pretty weird, so holding the EVO in my other hand, I pulled out my Hero and cued up the same exact YouTube video. When the vid played on the Hero the video guality and resolution were not as good as the EVO's, but it played perfectly and seamlessly all the way through, no starting and stopping at all.

Jul 20, 2010Can watch Videos just fine, but every hour or so get a notification saying, "Sign-in error for insertname@youtube.com" ! I use the same password as I do when logging into youtube on my notebook and no issues, yet every time I try to log into youtube on my Eris, It's not a big deal as I can still view videos, it's just annoying having to delete it from my notifications every 2 hours ! Apr 23, 2010am supposed to be switching my Family Plan to Sprint come May. Right now I have an AT&T contract until 7/11/10. My plan is to sell my iPhone 3G before the new iPhone comes out and the price drops for 3Gs on Ebay (they are still going for $250-350 right now). I was going to sell my iPhone and use that money to cancel my AT&T 2 months early then buy the EVO. The problem is the EVO comes out in June, at least most likely, and I (plus my family) couldn't go without a phone plan for a month.Is there any way I could get a loner phone(like they give you when your phone is being repaired) or something from Sprint until the EVO comes out? Or any other suggestions?

Oct 22, 2009Today at Sprint store I played the same YouTube video on the Hero and the Pre side by side. The Pre looked great, the Hero had a very low frame rate and poor resolution. I hope someone can tell me something was wrong with the Hero and it is not always like this.I am seriously considering buying a Hero and have been spending a lot of time at my local Sprint story getting to know it. Today I was trying out flash video on many sites and they all looked bad like I described above. I just assumed the videos had a poor source until I tried a YouTube video on the Pre. It is hard to believe all the reviews I have been seeing of the Hero wouldn't have hammered it for this if it were a common problem.

Sep 16, 2010after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
